I can still remember there was a subscription campaign in this forum for the cryptotalk platform. That BTC paid campaign create quite hype in the forum which was managed by yahoo if I am not mistaken. But what happens to that site now. I did create an account on that platform but left after some time. They spend a good amount of BTC to attract users to their platform. Is there anyone who still uses that platform? That platform remains so spammy or it's better now?
Sorry if this is not the right section to post this but I was uncertain about where I should create this topic so I post it here.

The site was full of spammers, I do not know about the Russian section but the English section was full of spam posters. Only two ection exists on the forum which are English and Russian sections. The English posters were stop being paid since over a year ago and they are not still paid up till now, the English section is not active again. Only Russian section are paid, they double the payment for Russians when English posters were not paid again.

Oh my god, I haven't thought about cryptotalk in quite a while--and I do remember writing some posts about it back when they had that campaign running that OP referenced. They did pay for posts for a while, but the messed up thing was that the payment got credited to a Yobit account that you had to create IIRC, so you had to become associated with that shitty exchange. My guess is that they were hoping people would blow their earnings gambling on shitcoins and ghostcoins (fictitious "coins" that only exist on Yobit and don't have a blockchain). No doubt a good number of them did just that.
See, the failure of cryptotalk just goes to show you that bitcointalk is very well-regulated for being a site where a lot of members get paid to post. Cryptotalk failed because they siphoned off the dregs of this forum, the worst posters and the people least motivated to post because they're actually interested in whatever the subject of a thread is.
I remember reading some threads on cryptotalk, and it was absolutely obvious that nobody knew what the hell they were talking about. On top of that, there was so much plagiarism that it was laughable.

The fact that we are not hearing about so much anymore it speaks volumes. The posting campaign attracted spammers from all works of life, and we all know what spammers wanted. They wanted the sats, as soon as the reduced or stopped paying the sats, that was it. I think this topic should be in the service discussion board

I also left that platform by seeing lots of spamming all over the platform. But that platform is run by Yobit exchange? Actually i am confused about what that project team trying to do. First they spent BTC for their site promotion then everything seems halted. They stop rewarding English's board instead of maintain spammers. They gave up the development of their platform or their goal was already achieved and now its just a skeleton! When first time i saw that platform i was quite hopeful about their future and accept those spamming by thinking it as a early problem and will be resolved slowly.

In all honesty, I'd never heard of that platform. I guess it was popular before my time. Was that forum supposed to compete with bitcointalk?

Maybe in meta or off-topic?
I know the main gist of this thread is cryptotalk, but since it'd be great to talk about the differences between that failure of a forum and this one, I'd prefer to keep it in Meta where it'll be seen and commented on. In all honesty, I'd never heard of that platform. I guess it was popular before my time. Was that forum supposed to compete with bitcointalk?
There was never a snowball's chance in hell that shitshow of a forum was going to compete with bitcointalk; it was just a vehicle for Yobit to promote their newest scams, which at the time consisted of the Investbox and whatever else they had going. There was someone a few years ago who was going to, or actually did, create a forum where the main feature was that people were going to be paid to post. There was a thread about it and I made a few comments predicting its failure and why it would fail, etc. I'd have to go back way far in my post history to find that, but it's there somewhere. Anyway, guess what? It turned out to be an unsustainable business model and it failed. If you come here and say "Hey guys, c'mon over to our forum and we'll pay you to post!", the only people who are going to sign up are the ones who are so incompetent at writing that they can't get accepted into anything other than a lousy altcoin bounty, if that. As I said, it's like scraping the disgusting crust off the bottom of the fish tank that is bitcointalk and having that be your core membership. It's a given that the results ain't gonna be pretty.

OP, here's a clear guide to moving topics. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5265053.0I have observed several times on that forum that information is simply copied from our forum and transferred there. Although the moderators write that they are very strict about plagiarism, nevertheless, there is no unique information there. Posts were simply paraphrased and later transferred there in large numbers. It took me a few days to make sure that all the accounts that are called cheaters here have moved there in unison.

In all honesty, I'd never heard of that platform. I guess it was popular before my time.
their forum was never popular and I'm sure the people who post there are only interested in their "pay per post". you would have seen their signature campaign for cryptotalk if YOBIT didn't sneakily change their signature to advertise their exchange instead of their forum. Was that forum supposed to compete with bitcointalk?
even if it were I don't think it will stand a chance, and to be honest I feel like they only created that forum so they could easily advertise their exchange site since their reputation here in the forum is extremely bad.

As what I remember and saw, the topics there are just duplicates from this forum, keeping in mind that it was a pay per post, a spam is obviously piled up. After the campaign stops the website turns dead and become ghost like it was only created for the pay per post campaign, and nothing much more happen, just a waste of money. Well, it was made from yobit funds -> from their shit token scams, it will be considered as not a loss to them.

I was thinking the reason for cryptotalk forum was to promote yobit, the exchange is shady, there are many ways to lose on the exchange, especially if you are trading high marketcap coins with shit coins, this can cause a trader to lose all the money he used for the trading. I remember some coins on the exchange, promising 10x daily return, another is a coin that promise 100x daily return, there are many other shit coins like that. The first risk of the exchange is to trade high marketcap coin to buy shit coin, almost all your money can be lost because of this, but people that are on the exchange that have been scammed like that before know that they should first convert the high marketcap coin first to coins like doge or USDT and then convert it to the shit coin, but newbies are scammed. The second risk is when the coin is converted to, the shit coin like X10 that promise 10x daily return or X100 that promises 100x daily return. If someone invest on these coins and many other coins on Yobit, the more the person will be losing daily as people are dumping the coin. Yobit is an exchange that is very shady. It would have been better if the bitcoin they pay are sent to a noncustododial address that individual will provide, but I notice cryptotalk wanted control.

Many spammers there do copy a topic here and paste on that for for the sake of farming more satoshi. And that's a huge mistake they made because there users is not generally there to support them and all of people who try to use that forum is just for the pay per post. Yobit made this forum because they are struggling to launch their campaign here because there reputation is so bad and I guess they didn't earn anything for doing this method because I think they fail by looking at their current status as well with the forum they created.

I completely forgot about this forum, I haven't heard anything about it for a while. Yobit spend huge money for promotion on Bitcointalk and their own forum, but it was obvious that such things can't last forever. Fact that we don't hear talks about Yobit forum probably means that's not possible to earn decent money there anymore. From quick glance, it's not ghost forum yet, but it's not very active. Only Russian section are paid, they double the payment for Russians when English posters were not paid again.
I'm a bit lazy to check their forum, so I ask here: do they in BTC or in some Yobit token? And what is payment rate per post? When everything just started, they had really decent payment rates IIRC.

Cryptotalk became the talk of the town only when it was still promoted here. By the time the promotion was gone, the talk about that YoBit-owned forum was also gone. But I admit nobody could forget its presence here. Users wearing their signature used to be everywhere. But what do you get really from registering on that platform? Bitcointalk may be called bitcointalk but you could discuss anything about crypto here, even other than crypto, so why would you shift to or create an account in another platform?

I've given it a try at start. The pay was .. peanuts, there was no difference between spam and useful posts, actually the amount of spam was literally huge and nobody cared, I've seen same answers over and over again, I've seen tutorials copied from ... everywhere... it was a frenzy of posting just everything for the sake of it, .. building fast into a sad pile of thrash. Afterwards I think that they started watching for spam, but I heard that they actually were favoring Russian spam while removing most of the rest. I don't know, I didn't waste time there since the early beginning; it was nothing organized enough nor useful enough; the pay alone can't fix that.

I can still remember there was a subscription campaign in this forum for the cryptotalk platform. I have a hard time recalling that platform the first time I read it until you mentioned spammy because it is really spammy and the administrators of that forum just wasted money on useless topics and too much spam and redundant discussion That BTC paid campaign create quite hype in the forum which was managed by yahoo if I am not mistaken. It's being managed by Yobit a notorious scam exchange they have huge funds coming from people they've scam But what happens to that site now. I did create an account on that platform but left after some time. They spend a good amount of BTC to attract users to their platform. Is there anyone who still uses that platform? That platform remains so spammy or it's better now? Forget it's not worth your attention you are better here in Bitcointalk where we have a healthy discussion on everything about Cryptocurrency

But administrators didn't care about it and i got negative 5 mark from that spammers. But their russian section is still active so i think there are still some users who use that platform who are mostly from russian section. It's about Cryptotalk.org. The forum still exists, but it looks like the project's intentions have failed. I remember that at the beginning some dust was paid on this forum for posting, so the traffic there was very high because spam was just intergalactic.
