Its always getting better since 2016, so i wouldn't be surprise if 10 years from now bitcoin become so very expensive compared to its current value at the moment.   And It's proven and tested of some investors that still relying on bitcoin especially if the investment is for long term coz the demand of bitcoin is keep increasing. So expect that there will have a good improvement in the future.

From 2016 till now it is true that Bitcoin has risen sharply and if you look at the current growth Bitcoin will be more expensive in the next 10 years. The OP said is there any other altcoin that could be more expensive than bitcoin from now on over the next ten years?
I don't expect other altcoins to be above bitcoin, bitcoin is already a symbol of cryptocurrency. If someone talks crypto, we will hear about the current development of Bitcoin from the talk. And now some of the newly launched altcoins have not been able to stay above the bitcoin price. And it is very difficult for Altcoins to surpass Bitcoin.

Bitcoin adoption will continue to increase but we are not sure if in the next 10 years, fiat (paper money) will be completely replaced by bitcoin and cryptocurrency. If you think of the bitcoin price and marketcap, then i can safely say that the bitcoin market cap will be very close or equal to gold market cap.

In the short term, there were altcoins that outperformed bitcoin in terms of profitability. Offhand, I can remember xrp or eth during the hype of the 17th year. Over the course of that year, those two altcoins did amazing returns, if my memory serves me right.

If we consider the past 10 years, then, perhaps, not a single altcoin has surpassed bitcoin in profitability. This is most likely due to the fact that bitcoin was created first and therefore it was time to build a user base and find its value. I do not yet consider the fundamental features and benefits of bitcoin.

It seems to me that it will be difficult to surpass bitcoin other altcoins even in 10 years. Or even ever.

It's been more than 10years now and the data on Bitcoin shows that it's waxing stronger and gaining wider acceptance all over the world despite the great challenges it faces. We already have Bitcoin ATMs, coffee shops and some mom and pop shops are already accepting payment in BTC. Even school kids will mention Bitcoin first before any other cryptocurrency if asked. The point I am trying to make in essence is that Bitcoin is already a household name base on its value, acceptance, popularity and publicity. It will take 10times as much for another coin to takeover.

Watching the development of the overall market capitalization is a good way to proceed. In 2017 there were 5,000 coins and even at the time when altcoins shined, Bitcoin dominance was not below 40%. After years and more than 19,000 new cryptocurrencies, the ATL of altcoins remains in the 40% range.

Of course there are a lot of problems with the market capitalization formula and a lot of coins in there that shouldn't even exist and rely on capitalization, but at the end of the day that would just make the numbers better for Bitcoin.

In the long term, simple and safe is always the best bet, even if in the short term there are good options. But when things get ugly in the market...... BTC shines.

indeed many people ask that question among many people but indeed it is very difficult to answer. especially for a beginner like me? but this time I will answer to the best of my ability, and my answer? positive for bitcoin. because I see the brilliant potential in bitcoin. because I estimate that in 10 years the price will be very much higher. because it is seen from the many enthusiasts and the supply is limited so that's where I look at bitcoin in the future. that is positive.

Well, only bitcoin is the long lasting currency and it will remain to be dominant forever. However, there is no surety of any altcoin if it will be able to survive for 5 years , 10 years or more. There were many altcoins which were in top 20 list but now they do not exists.
It's never wise to invest in altcoins only and ignore bitcoins. Your portfolio should be 50% in bitcoin.

Kinda like we now have cash, and card payments everywhere, I think in the future we will have cash, card, crypto payments everywhere.

And for international transfer of money, most of it will be done with Bitcoin under the hood for minimal fees and extra security.

Sure some of the altcoins out there might have better trading levels of being able to make money but 99.9% of them are absolutely and utterly garbage with no future at all. As we can see that it has already been more than 10 years since the existence of bitcoin and no other coin has even come closer to it even once.
Also, the marketcap of bitcoin is around 40% from the total markecap. This shows how much trust people have on bitcoin.
With these facts I can personally say that even in the next 10 years there won't be any coin that can come closer to bitcoin.

If a coin created only for purpose to generate money, I would say it's a ponzi scheme coins and wouldn't even survive at least a year.

I didn't understand, you said Bitcoin is the best crypto, but you're asking a possible coin to beat Bitcoin? That's just mean Bitcoin isn't the best crypto in your thought. Bitcoin already 13 years old and already over 10 years, but there's no coin can beat Bitcoin until now. So, I believe there's no coin would beat Bitcoin, even 20 years in the future.

Actually, there's a lot of new coins around that are beating against bitcoin, but the only difference is that these coins have been generated out of greed and so their existence are just only short term, and eventually lose their value. But with bitcoin, though its also highly expensive and highly valuable, but there is more than that, and that its utility cases is very high that makes its community demand grow as well.

For now, i would say that bitcoin still dominates the market and has the brightest future in the crypto market, and there has been no other coin that defeats its demand.

I would guess the more companies that got in, the bigger infrastructure we will have. When that is set and ready that would certainly make things a lot easier for people to get in. Coinbase becoming this huge, and Binance being a giant, those two already paved the way to where we are today which is a big place. But at the same time, the more people coming in would always mean good things for crypto.

In the end, I believe that in 10 years we are going to definitely see something much better, maybe not as easy or anything like that, but it is no doubt in my mind that there will be more money going into crypto, rich people are not idiots, they realize there is money to be made here.

Surpass BTC in the term of what? Price, market caps, role, or popularity?
If you mean to surpass the price, we already have some coins that ever have prices bigger than Bitcoin previously. But it doesn't survive a long time, Bitcoin still remains the crypto coin that has the most expensive price.

But if you mean to surpass the market caps, role, or popularity, I doubt there will be a coin to overtake Bitcoin. Bitcoin has a special role in crypto industry, it influences the whole crypto coins. No crypto coins are likely to have the capability as Bitcoin.

We don't know how the market will change by tomorrow. So, it is really impossible to predict the future of bitcoin after Ten years. One can assure that bitcoin will be in a good position as an investment and gets regulated in majority of the countries. Innovations try to compete, but to overcome bitcoin won't happen in the next 10 years time. In ten years time the cryptocurrency market will be very big. Even by that time it is get importance as an investment than as a currency for regular spending.
