The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

I threw my ASIC on it, I have mined over 21,000 blocks in a matter of 10 minutes. The pool is saying that the block reward for each is 0 so I'm not getting any coins. The block explorer however, is saying that each of them is giving out 100 coins. Seems fishy to me.

EDIT: Yeah, the block explorer is showing the 23,000 blocks that I have mined on the pool and the coins sitting in the address of BQNxry9RU8DLkG8h7ugWD5QSu1weeRHoMbIs  But the pool website itself is saying that I am not owed a single coin and that the block reward for each block I have mined is 0. Funny...

It should also be noted that the difficulty is not changing at all, so with my ASIC on it I am now over 35,000 blocks mined with no increase in the difficulty to slow the chain down at all.

i had same problem from that pool, seems to take 2 days before it will recognise your wallet!
happened on last three coins ive mined !
no good if you want to mine instanlty, very disappointing

also mined some but stopped as i feared a no pay out and their help options dont work, and even once wallet is recognised it doesnt pay out for previous coins mined, non of the three options of help work
