About Bitweb

Bitweb (BTE) is based on Bitcoin, with a maximum supply of 42,000,000 coins and a block time of 5 minutes (300s). It supports SegWit and Taproot, with very low transaction fees.

Network Relaunch & Vesting

Bitweb was relaunched on 03.06.2026 00:00 UTC with a balance snapshot at a denomination ratio of 100:1 (one new BTE per 100 old coins). The first 60,000 blocks were mined the standard way — flat 50 BTE reward, no inflated coinbase outputs — as a foundation for fair distribution.

To prevent sudden sell pressure from the distributed supply, coinbase outputs mined during blocks 60,000–69,300 carry an extended maturity lock. All such coins unlock simultaneously at block 69,400 (~32 days from the start of the window). Outside this range, standard 100-block maturity (~8h) applies.

Coin Specification

Name: Bitweb
Ticker: BTE
Max Supply: 42,000,000 BTE
Block Reward: 50 BTE (halving every 420,000 blocks)
Block Time: 5 min (300s)
Coinbase Maturity: 100 blocks
Proof-of-Work Algorithm: Argon2id (m=1024, t=3, p=1) — PoW challenge only; block headers hashed with SHA256d (same separation model as Litecoin's Scrypt PoW / SHA256d chain)
Difficulty Algorithm: LWMA (window 576 blocks, retarget every block, ~2 day period)

Address Formats:
  P2PKH: E... (decimal 33, 0x21)
  P2SH: D... (decimal 30, 0x1E)
  Bech32 (SegWit): web1q...
  Bech32m (Taproot): web1p...

Network:
  Default P2P port: 26333
  Default RPC port: 26332
  Magic: 0xfeaed5ca
  BIP-324 Salt: bitweb_v2_shared_secret
  Genesis Block: 111692c1b9b390c407ab74d7f924d4fa0f7589974ab61af96392feca11f209e6
  PoW Limit: 000fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

Open Source & Reproducible Builds

Bitweb is fully open-source under the MIT license — auditable, forkable, community-driven development on GitHub. Releases use deterministic, reproducible builds via GNU Guix, with GPG-signed release attestations.

Note for Mining Pools

Pools accumulating large balances (50 BTE/block) should consolidate UTXOs before scheduled payouts — send batches of no more than 50,000 BTE to your own address. Perform consolidation after block 69,400 to avoid extended-maturity errors.

a very interesting project to explore whether this project can be profitable or the material can go down. I want to try to invest with the lowest capital. does this project have a bounty plan?

no chain is now ~ 800 mb , require disks pace data is from
https://github.com/bitweb-project/bitweb/blob/master/src/chainparams.cpp#L100
hardcodet and updated every time how checkpoints at wallet update.

but it is better to have 8 - 10 gb reserved free space for the wallet at near future.

Does NitroPool seem to be on the correct network? While Explorer is on block 64588, NitroPool is on 2516644. Not to mention the different network bitrate.
