Similar situations is at play even with the NFT as their have failed to guarantee investors funds and also have not met up with the scalability demands in the industry. Even though some of them show some level of competence but in the end will not meet up with the demands this has forced many of them to walk away.

Top Altcoins serve its purpose but with NFTs, I can’t see their purpose here aside from bringing the hype. Though some are still able to rise in value but as we can see, many NFTs are already dying. If you want your expectation to be meet, always go for the best choice and top coins, they can still offer good services and later on will rise again for sure.

it will gone slowly while hype disappear again , only NFT that  created for play to earn games will survive. today too many artist    or art creator their own NFT and investors truelly speculate on this. with no usage, and only as unique art slowly investors will realize that it could not use to earn money except by trade it.

The development will always be ongoing and continuously growing. We cannot stop the adoption and development. Crypto industry is now widely developing, but it doesn't mean fully changing. the concept is still related to crypto world, the blockchain technology, but combined with something more interesting, real, and also utility.
We should appreciate with this development, and this will not abandon the future of crypto industry. Hopefully with this kind of development, crypto industry will be more accepted in the world. Moreover right now, we know that the network is not only about Ethereum network. We find many more.

The objective of all altcoins is to give profits to their holders, but this does not make sense at this time where the btc is with enormous uncertainty, some of the most bearish say that the BTC can fall to $8K (Which seems exaggerated to me, but that can happen) however it seems to me an extravagant prediction and the truth is that it is very difficult for it to happen, but we have to be prepared, there is a recent example that is from the LUNA coin, it is a coin that did not last long, that looked very sure with a high index that the ocsas can go very well, but from one moment to another things went wrong and suddenly those who were sleeping woke up without money, so I think that altcoins as such have not met expectations.

looking at the current situation I think only ethereum is really an 'alternative' to bitcoin. Ethereum is a crypto bitcoin alternative project that has lived up to its expectations as its utility is already in line with the ethereum roadmap at the start. Apart from ethereum there isn't really a perfect alternative, but maybe in the future they really do exist.

It was never meet my expectations since I'm not naive to trust all the promises of cryptocurrencies that they were the future. I stay with cryptocurrency because it can bring me profit, and bring it fast if I know what thing to do. That it, no bought in by empty promises and expectations like many in this thread.

The question of the OP is in fact relative as the expectations of each person are different, for those which believed that those coins could surpass bitcoin then without a doubt what we have seen during the last years has to be incredibly disappointing.

As to know that people are coming here for "MONEY" earning some amount upon investing altcoins, not in the purpose of using this as a currency to buy stuff as it failed. In this current situation, that seems hard to provide that thing and meet our expectations. Yet, I consider this bear season as an accumulation time making ready for the upcoming halving and bullish market. And to note that not all the time investing in crypto is a fruitful one, sometimes it ends up losing especially if we got influenced by our emotions.

I quite understand your position in the network, it is one of an altcoin enthusiast, and to be very fair to you it is the correct one, i for one do not believe that altcoins are long term projects, they are to be held for the short term and sold for quick profits, cause they have no utility and are only backed by fake promises. But Bitcoin is unlike them, Bitcoin has an actual utility and it is nothing like altcoins, thus if you ever should trust any coin for the long term/future, then it should be Bitcoin, cause your money is safe there.

More precisely altcoins are just really manipulated games, however it can't be completely generalized as a 99% scam overall as only shitcoins and NFTs are ruining the current market. The ICO has ended and as of now, bitcoin is a solid investment. If you are hoping for Ethereum 2.0 things are not going as expected.

Some of the altcoins may meet our expectation, but many also don't, moreover worse they scam us. That is why every time we are going to invest in crypto project or crypto-related industry, we must be careful. I thought you are only talking about eth as an alternative currency? Eth never scammed anyone but it was the crappy altcoins are the ones that can steal the peoples' money. Nft's arent totally an altcoin but in metaverse, there might be some projects that can still be called an altcoin.

If the issue is about scalability then I think that eth as an alternative coin didn't fixed that totally since its also experiencing some problems related to it and that might be the reason why many more altcoins are being created next to eth to solve the known issues of eth and as well as on btc. People's expectations are somehow met up on some altcoin, fortunately.

Truely they are intended to make a fool of every newbie coming in the market. While people attempt to go for them for their lower than bitcoin price, they end up paying the most and ending up in the bigger loss.

After watching the altcoin markets for a close to 6years, I can say for certain that all altcoins are going to end up as shitcoin except the centralized ones and the stablecoins. It does not make the latter two legit or profitable though. The newly launched ones based on hype marketing are defenitely counting on the hype to run them and they are risky to get into.

If you are looking for an altcoin that turned out as intended, go for the older well known ones like LTC, ETH, DASH, XMR. Going beyond them you are more and more likely to encounter coins that have no future in real.
