Roma were eliminated from the finals after losing 4-1 on penalties to Sevilla. After playing for 120 minutes and still having the scores level, it was a great match between these two teams. Sevilla has just won an unprecedented seventh Europa League title. Roma put up a decent fight, but they will need to put in a lot more effort to beat an experienced Europa League team like Sevilla next time.

I like Mourinho in general, dislike his tactics in general, but this one I think was poor show of him. I didn't watch the match, but the match reports tells a big story of what happened, however it is, both Sevilla and Roma, players and coaches, are plenty of drama people lol

Deserve to lose or not, if you cannot accept a loss, you should retire.

VAR was right, rules are rules. I know not all refs call for it but with trophy on the line, it's fair.

I watched the game yesterday and i have to say i that as a neutral spectator i was very happy to see that FC Sevilla was able to win this trophy yet again. I just thought that AS Roma did not really deserve to win that trophy after they have played such a horrible style of football in the semi final against Bayer Leverkusen where they not only played extremely defensively. They have also wasted so much time there. That was very unfair and i am happy that such behaviour does not get them the title after all.
Yesterday was probably one of the longest final ever because of so many extra time, even in the overtime.

It was one of longest games I ever saw, so much added time that it looked that game will never end. I kinda expected that game will go to extra time and penalties. And won my bet on over 1.5 goals. IMO, after goal they scored, Roma closed themselves in defense, but considering it's Mou team it's nothing surprising.
Sevilla was shit most of season, but Mendilibar who come to Sevilla just in March changed team. Most of career he managed weak and average Spnish team and now he is Europa league winner.

This is Sevilla's 5th Europa League title in the last 10 seasons. This is just very impressive that's for sure. No matter they had an inexperienced manager like Mendilibar they still made it to the title. By saying inexperienced I mean that he doesn't have any experience with an above average team until this job. It is like Sevilla has built their mentality over becoming champions in the Europa League. 

Roma were doing good in the first half but Sevilla were more effective in the second half. That's because of having a score advantage of course but Roma couldn't defend their goal for a long time. Mourinho tried to do his best to affect the referee decisions as usual. 

That performance in the penalty shootout part by Roma was horrible though. Targeting the goalkeeper and goal post cost them too much. Montiel actually missed the penalty first by the way but he was lucky to repeat it due to encroachment.

A very disappointing night for Roma because they just lost an opportunity to play in the Champions League next season. When Dybala got the goal in the 35th minute I knew it will be difficult for Sevilla to score because Roma have one of the best defenses and they lived up to expectations until the own goal by Mancini. Roma's performance in the penalty shootout was too poor as if they were not prepared for it.

I don't think Mourinho threw the silver medal to the spectators in a disrespectful manner. He actually gave it to a young Roma fan and it was emotional. And he received a commendation from the fans. The medal belongs to him and he has the right to give it to anybody he feels. That gift will remain indelible in the life of the young fan. And there are also rumors that it was a sign that he will be leaving Roma. Others are jokingly saying that Mourinho doesn't do silver.

I saw the game and I wasn't sure who might be better off during the penalty kicks. Sevilla seemed to be physically superior and maybe that played a role as it also has an impact on your mental state. When you are totally exhausted and have to sit down and write a letter, well everyone knows how that feels. There is a lot of adrenaline pushing the mind in that moment, but Sevilla was very strong with their first three shots. Then came the moment when I didn't know whether this could still turn around in Roma's favor. To get a second chance for that penalty was a golden opportunity. He then decided to not be too precise, but with power. But it is still a mental game because both the goalkeeper and Montiel were thinking whether to take the same corner or not. After that game Mourinho was in quite a bad mood as expected.

There is 6 Europa league qualifiers games played today. 3 games were played on Tuesday and Wednesday. Results of it - Astana 2:1 Ludogorets, AEK Larnaca 1:1 Maccabi Tel Aviv and Gent 5:0 Pogon.
Probably most interesting game is Olympiacos - Genk. I go with BTTS here. Also, going with Sheriff and Qarabag ML's. Slavia is quite heavy favoriteagainst Dnipro-1. Over 2.5 goals looks like safe option, though odds isn't high.

I am sure that an interesting match will be Olympiacos v Genk... The Greeks seem to be favourites in this game, but in the last five matches they managed to win only twice and in each game they conceded goals... So my bet for this match both teams will score...

With this result, I highly doubt that dinipro will be able to reverse this scenario in the second leg. now 2 games are being played, but it's unbelievable that the 1st half hasn't ended yet and Zrinjski Mostar has already scored 5 goals while their opponent Breidablik hasn't scored a single goal and one of their players has had a red card, it seems to me that they've also already everything is decided in this first leg. in the game of Olympiacos Piraeus against Genk, they are being a game in which Olympiacos Piraeus is winning until the first half. To be fair Sherrif was at UCL just a year or two ago, and they did alrigtht, even managed to beat Real Madrid on the year they became champions, think about how good you have to be in order to beat UCL champions. Obviously they are not solid enough to win it themselves, but they are way too good for europa and could go very far if they do not face a big club before then. They are capable of beating teams like BATE without a trouble and should be considered as a good thing.

I believe that we need to give them the benefit of the doubt whenever they play someone, even if they are playing against a big club then we are going to end up seeing them have a chance to beat anyone they face, they are that good of a club.

HJK is shown an early red card. While leading the match 1-0, this card demoralized all the players. Moreover, at the end of the first half, Qarabağ won a penalty and they tied the match. there were results in this round that left me surprised, like the case of the ludogoretes game, they lost in the first leg by a small difference in goals, but even so it didn't change the fact that they lost, I was even surprised to see them lose and I thought that in this second leg they would lose again, but I was surprised with this turnaround that they had in this second leg, ludogoretes won the game and managed to score 5 goals, it was something very impressive and I was wondering what changed so much in their team and in the opponent that made them score 5 goals and only conceded 1 goal in this second leg game, with this result ludogoretes moved to another phase

in other games sheriff beat his opponent and with that he went to another stage, meanwhile the olympiacos also went to another stage, hacken won again and this time they scored 5 goals, in the first leg they had scored 3 goals, so combined were 8 goals scored against only 1 goal conceded, slavia praha also moved on to another stage even though they managed a draw in this game. I would say that in a way the best known teams passed, that is the big teams, we will see how many of these teams go far

Fenerbahçe is in the conference league, not the European league. Of course, they formed a good squad and passed Maribor easily. The current opponent is more difficult, of course. They were paired with Twente. If they can eliminate Twente, we will watch them in the group stages.
