Binance is announcing an exclusive, multi-year NFT partnership with Portuguese footballing legend Cristiano Ronaldo. Through this partnership, Binance will launch a global promotion aiming to give Ronaldo’s fans an introduction to Web3 with a compelling entry point into the world of NFTs.

Over the course of the agreement, Binance and Cristiano Ronaldo will create a series of NFT collections for sale exclusively on the Binance NFT platform. The first NFT collection will be released later this year and feature designs created in collaboration with Ronaldo.

There will be new hype following this news, and I really can't imagine what they will do with it. It is possible that we are seeing the cooling of NFT in the past few months, and this may be a way for Binance to prepare for a new monetization scheme from users and investors. According to reports, Binance will launch its first NFT collection in late 2022, and it will feature designs created in collaboration with Ronaldo himself. All NFT collections will be available exclusively on Binance's NFT store.
It's interesting to note that Ronaldo is the most followed person on Instagram, having 459 million followers. He has more followers than the population of the entire United States. So I guess that's somewhat good for crypto adoption, at least people will have to learn something.

It is ironic that Binance CEO Changpeng posted a week ago that the company had passed on expensive sponsorships allowing them to keep on hiring more employees during the crypto bear market. This is almost like him contradicting himself.

I am not too surprised to see this as Binance is increasing their influence in this market as well as in other areas, and this time we see a partnership with CR7. But honestly, I'm still looking forward to other positive signals surrounding the NFT trend, not to popularize it but to show people what it will bring, after all the hype is over. There's no guarantee for that but they might be a temporary increase of price for those NFT attributed to CR7 itself and not the general NFT price. Binancedone this before with different football star but the result is not that much a big impact. I know CR7 and I’m a fan of him but I will definitely don't  buy an NFT right now since the marketis very bad. No one will buy a useless NFT right now unless you are a collector only. Investors are giving importance to cheap crypto rather than fancy NFT on this crypto bloodbath.

Hmm pretty interesting case happened with binance. Ronaldo already announced the partnership with binance. just curious how many millions USD being paid for him. Let's see how effective this effort by binance but im sure that if this is related with the NFT. binance is trying to take NFT into the next level of adoptions. Cristiano Ronaldo is a celebrity who has fans in every corner of the globe. There are still a lot of people who don't know much about digital currency, especially NFT, especially in countries like Pakistan.  It will be much easier to convey the message of this new technology to many people.

Maybe just a tad bit too late? I mean don't get me wrong there will be a billion fans out there who will be standing outside trying to get a feeling out of any of this. But, that doesn't change the fact that I would not be doing this just for the money, probably never for the money.

After all of that first initial hype is gone, and the "it's ronaldo nft!!" people already bought it, then we are going to have a calm period where it will probably not worth as much as it did initially. Plus if they did this like a year ago for example, it would have collected at least twice as much as they could now, still a lot of money today, but not nearly as much as it could have been.

Ronaldo is a guy that sold like 100+ million dollars in jersey sales last year alone, if you could get his jerseys sold that much, then I am sure that his NFT would probably get sold a lot as well. This is why it is going to be fine for now, but not a great idea in the long run.

Surely they know the NFT hype is running out of steam fast due to the bad press it keeps getting, plus, the recent crypto crash doesn't help either. But, still, even if the NFT thing doesn't go as planned, it's not a bad investment to have one of the most popular football players to shill for your product. If Binance can get at least 2% of Ronaldo's IG followers to open a binance acc, 9mill users, and at least retain 10% of those new users, that would be a massive success for Binance.

Gaining more awareness and getting user acquisition is their major point.

It would be too naive that their strategy would only be narrowing toward an NFT as it is. Do note that, Ronaldo's publicity is enormous and if we look at Binance competitor some of them got troubled in regard of bankruptcy issues. So, NFT is not merely the point.

At least the football mega star partnership (Ronaldo) has a good impact, although for the exclusives on offer, surely this is only a collector and I don't know how high the price for NFT is, will it be more expensive than expected?

Well of course there will be hype considering Ronaldo has the most fans, and Binance is already planning on marketing its NFT.
