We have read many times about gamblers, professional gamblers, compulsive gamblers, gambling addicts, and so on.  But did you know that there are seven types of gamblers each with their own purpose why they are playing gambling games?  Aren't you curious about what type of gambler are you?

Nothing really special to me regardless of what category should I fall off. Too much technicality in gambling and I don't agree that it should be necessary to know.

Just try to remain disciplined and responsible at all times. If you can't do it, then that's a problem and gambling might not be for you. I've been gambling for almost 20 years now and experienced good wins and devastating losses already and that experience makes me a better gambler while I'm progressing.

Gambling is not a joke. If anyone doesn't understand the risks here, stop, ignore, skip or if really determined to learn, try to build an experience here.

Anyways to OP, what's your stand? While sharing that information here by creating this thread, you should also share your own views about yourself. Sounds like just creating the thread for a "purpose".

I am a part conservative and part casual social gambler.  I play both for relaxation and curiosity with strict limitations on funding.  Talking about purpose... up to you how you interpret it  since you are entitled to your own interpretation.  Anyway, I am creating an awareness thread about gambling since most of us are promoting gambling sites.  I have read several threads on gambling discussion but it looks like many of us do not understand what gambling really is.  Someone even defines gambling as a psychological disorder, while others categorize gambler as criminals. Funny how many of us can't even differentiate gambling terminologies.

I fall under the compulsive gambling category. I know I wasn't able to end up with wins, but I was unable to stop it than chasing the losses and make a recovery. Being a compulsive gambler is very risky, because we are out of control when we enter gambling.

Well I have always seen myself as an occasional or casual gambler I only gamble when there is a particular event I'm interested in I don't see myself waking up every morning going through my phone to online casinos to gamble on or or go physically to gamble in the casino. The way I see gambling is one of the reasons I can't invest my full time gambling. To me it is a game of luck with a little bit of experience, I don't think I can live my life everyday putting the livelihood of myself and my family in the hands of luck of winning some few bets which makes me still don't understand how professional gambler's do it.

Also my area of interest is one of the reason why I am a casual/occasional gambling. I am a lover of sport so obviously whenever there's a sporting event I enjoy pleasing some bet as it increase my anxiety of knowing if my supporting team will be successful. When there's no sporting event ongoing like for example there isn't any premier League match been played right now it means I haven't placed any bet since then.

I've begun to be curious about this. Can you give some sample threads? I think those people are just lurking there because you know, obviously.  In general, there are lots of real gamblers here that probably know what they're doing. I know many users here that really know what gambling is, how gambling should be, knows the technicality of a certain gambling type, and co-sports-bettor like me.

I haven't read yet those different types but I'm a regular gambler and I think my life is not complete without gambling.

Am I addicted already? Maybe yes but still, I'm still in my right mind to determine what is right or wrong and I'm sure everyone here is doing the same. Salute to those users here that remain responsible despite their hard gambling activity.

I think I am a mix of a casual social and conservative gambler.  From time to time I shifted between the two types.  I went to land base casino because I wanted to play with my friends while I play in online casino when I wanted to just relax or if something triggers my curiosity.  Like when I read something interesting here in the forum regarding some gambling games, it triggers my curiosity, and wanted to have a first-hand experience of the said game.

I am only aware of two types of gamblers and not fully aware of the many types of gamblers, in my case I am a combination of two types of gamblers, casual and conservative gamblers I see to it that I am in a safe mindset to avoid complications for my business and family, but this is actually a good read if you are honest enough you can admit what kind of gambler you are, if you are in a bad category and you admit, you can start fixing it, being honest is the key to a cure.

I do believe that many of us here can be categorized as professional gamblers both in knowledge and skills but I still think there are also some members that are still in the process of learning when it comes to gambling just like myself so I think sharing some information won't hurt.

I think I am a Casual Social gambler because I read in a short explanation from @OP that Casual Social Gamblers gamble for recreation, sociability and entertainment and not because of making money, recover the losses, or else.
Everything has changed as we now have much experience playing gambling, especially in many casinos, which can help us manage ourselves and not become addicted.
But I do not know about those types as I do not think too much about what type of gambler I am.
Besides that, I now can prevent myself from playing gambling too often, especially in this situation and it is better to hold my bitcoin for the next rally.

As with many others here, I'm just a casual social gambler. But it's actually hard to classify a gambler because these classifications are not mutually exclusive.

Although I would like to categorize myself as a casual social gambler, there are actually times when I gamble for the sake of money. There are also times when I tend to be compulsive in gambling. But since these are not really the kinds of gambler that I am most of the time, I think I belong to casual social gamblers.

Casual social gamblers gamble for recreation, sociability and entertainment. For them, gambling may be a distraction or a form of relaxation. Gambling does not interfere with family, social or vocational obligations. this is me.
i play gambling because every time i work at a company i have 2 hours of free time to rest but i use it to play poker. i play with small bets so i can play 1-2 hours, so i entertain myself by just playing gambling without expecting a win. although sometimes it's emotional when you lose but for me it's very fun.
so in conclusion i play gambling just to entertain myself when i have free time

Let's go Casuals! I might be included in some other categories really since I probably would not admit it, but of the ones I admit, I'd be put in the Casual gamblers. I don't think much about money, how much I can earn, or how much I spend or should spend, I just tend to have fun and enjoy some games. If it was sports gambling it may be a bit different though since I consider gambling on that one as a side objective or something since I mainly focus on and enjoy the games itself.

I guess I can go Serious gambling when it comes to poker or blackjack though. It is kinda competitive sometimes.

There might be different type if gambler but it doesn't state that the gambler or us can only be one type of gambler. You might be a serious social gambler and a compulsive gambler at the same time.

It also state there that there is Professional Gambler yet thereare gamblers out there that are professional gambler yet also a compulsive gambler as well.

As for me, I am a Casual Gambler, Conservative and a Relief and Escape gambler. I rarely gamble when I have a time and sometimes I follow a strict budget depending on my financial situation. Also, gambling also provides me relief and relaxations when I have a problem.

It doesn’t matter mostly what type of Gambler are you or I am.
The thing that matters is that, how often you gamble in control.
Nevertheless coming back to the topic, I want to list me in Social and Casual Gamer category.
Earlier I used to gamble a lot, but after losing a good amount of money, I decided to gamble occasionally.
To narrow down my losses, I have come to only sports bet gambling and that too in limited matches.
Willing to hear what other type of gamblers here people are.

We're the same mate, I do gamble casually or occasionally . I don't want to spend too much since I know in myself that if I will let myself to play and to play even I am losing , it will be very hard for me to stop . I once lost some huge amount (maybe for me around 300$) last 2019 and I will not let myself to lost big amount of money and fall into debt again.

I guess am a casual gambler, I gamble just for fun am not really the type that take gambling serious, but whenever am free or I want to relax I always gamble and I always have fun with gambling, I always gamble whenever am watching football matches which I also watch football for relaxation and entertainment. Am not really the type that's addicted to gambling, I know some people that really gamble with everything they have which I think is bad.

I belong to the Personality Gamblers, because I only try gambling out of curiosity, the winnings are just bonuses if I'm lucky enough while being curious.

Most of the gamblers nowadays are compulsive gamblers, playing like crazy, spending so much money on gambling without any plans and goals on how to really make profits out of it. They are hotheaded, short-tempered, and not easy to deal with. Even their families are struggling to help them out with their addiction.
