Do you have any information when devs electrum will finally add Taproot support. ?
AFAIK, there's no roadmap on their "Github repo",  so I don't think anyone of us has that information, but they did mention "Taproot has to wait because they're focusing on the lightning & UX parts" and since most of their recent updates involve lightning, I don't think it's that far [hopefully].

I'm just surprised by this decision devs electrum?.
Same here and they seemed to be annoyed when users ask about it:

All this is rather sad, also because LN is certainly an interesting technology, but its demand for bitcoin users is still a big question?  This is too complicated for an ordinary not very literate bitcoin user.  And by the way, in the last 5 years, LN has not evolved into a global technology, because there are many reasons why it is developing so slowly.  If I'm not mistaken, only about 5000 BTC are blocked in the LN channels so far, which is very small compared to the entire BTC turnover.

I think it would be better for the devs of this wallet to focus on the Taproot theme, as it is more promising.  Nunchuk, OneKey, Ledger, and other hardware wallets are already far ahead in these upgrades to their wallets.

You mean the amount of bitcoin in public channels on the lightning network? Yes, just 5535.72 BTC as of today.

Lightning network is lightning network. Taproot is Taproot. They are just not the same and one did not disturb the other.

Lightning network is lightning network. Taproot is Taproot. They are just not the same and one did not disturb the other.
All the same, these two areas should be dealt with even despite the increased requirements for those programmers who are able to code at the Taproot level.  Of course, we are not aware of the priorities of devs of different wallets, but, in my opinion, the topic of improvements in terms of simplifying the use of LN, if many devs of different wallets are involved in it, will face a serious problem when opening new channels, especially when this is done automatically.  Just because of the mass use.  Honestly, I don’t know how important it is to apply all the efforts of devs only to the topic of improvements or the introduction of LN.
The experience of such a popular wallet as the Blue wallet, which will partially limit LN from April 30, about which it warned everyone a long time ago, tells us that the relevance of this topic has been lost for Blue.
And I guess I understand them.
The wallet without LN is quite convenient and popular, since users have already downloaded it only from the Android market more than 100 000 times.

The adoption for Bitcoin Lightning Network is better than few years ago. Rome wasn't built in a day so with this increasing adoption for Lightning Network, we can expect something bigger for it.

You can consider similarly to adoption for Bitcoin Segwit address and transaction. It did not catch too much attention and bitcoin users to use it. After a few years since 2017, it is very big now.

This is nearly correct, 5540 BTC are blocked in 84540 Lightning Network channels.

@SquirrelJulietGarden
Not sure why this thread has moved to the "Bitcoin Discussion" board [last time I checked, it was in the "Beginners & Help" board], but regardless of that, I decided to re-upload all of those invalid Imgur images into "TalkImg".

You can also add the "Unstoppable Wallet" to the list.

@SquirrelJulietGarden, Recently I was interested in knowing more about the Taproot address for my Bitcoin wallet and Little Mouse referred me to this topic. He also mentioned the images are outdated due to the Imgur issue. But as I can see, you are active and SFR10 already collected all those images.

Would you mind updating those images so we can see understand the tutorial better? I also agree with SFR10 that this topic supposed to be in Beginner and help section instead of Bitcoin discussion.

You can also add the "Unstoppable Wallet" to the list.
Unstoppable wallet is supporting pay-to-taproot addresses, but there are still other wallets that can be included.

Other wallets that are supporting pay-to-taproot are: Fully Nodes, BitBox02, Coldcard, Specter, Bitmask, Muun, Zeus wallet, Blixt walletz, MyCitadel, Exodus wallet etc cetera.

You can see it here: Wallets supporting Taproot

You're right, but it's worth mentioning that @SquirrelJulietGarden wanted to only list open-source wallets so some of the above names would've not been added to the list, but I don't think it matters anymore since it appears that OP is no longer interested in updating the thread [unfortunately].
