How about you? Do you have Fengshui practice that you're observing when you are about to play or while playing

People gamble according to different superstitions and beliefs. However, in my opinion, gambling is based solely on mathematics and probability. Of course, some situations are exceptionally fortunate, but they really have nothing to do with beliefs, and when something like this does happen, it is just a coincidence.

Gambling is indeed all about mathematics and probability. But of course, luck and odds also play into it in some instances. Perhaps these people who believe in fengshui just really have a strong sense of traditional belief and thinking and for me there's nothing wrong with it. Maybe some people just boost their confidence if they have something to hold onto. After all, we're all different. We do things differently and we repeatedly execute what we think is effective and beneficial for us. It will just boil down on respect of anyone's choices and preferences on how they want to gamble.

I believe since the people who are really rich in the gambling scene are mostly Asian or to be more precise, Chinese, they tend to really apply their belief system to what they are doing. In Asia, I know that there are certain traditions that are being practiced because the generations before them have practiced them. It's just a passing of tradition and the belief is still there.

Some applications of it are probably not so helpful but they are just there because they believe it. It's just nothing to verify it on, it's either a coincidence or a lucky expense or something. It's just that for sure.

Maybe they are just following it for "extra measures".

It seems like they're applying and following patterns based on Fengshui which I think is effective for those who believe in it. They say that we attract what we believe so I think that's how it works for them. This traditional belief is still existing even in the latest generation which simply means that this has been helpful for years. Maybe that's the reason why there are lots of Chinese people who became rich because of this belief.

Fengshui is an interesting topic that I was surprised to see in bitcointalk and gambling section. Of all the big businesses in Asia (China, Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia,...), all followed Fengshui or an equivalent local version of it. I will cut you from all the bullshit regarding fate and destiny that Sinosphere and Asians things. The main good reason behind Fengshui is it helps people to have confidence in their workplace, in their home, in their way to meet business partners or doing things that are important. Basically, a pat up your confidence and this is where Asian casinos also have Fengshui since it boosts and gives gamblers the same boost up to their confidences so they can feel luckier and gamble more.

There are so many opinions about this kind of belief. If you think it works on you, then it's good.

If on someone they are not a fan and they will choose to do the math and try to go deeper in analysing the possible outcome, then
it's their choice to deal with that.

I'm not a good at how really this kind of belief works, but I heard it from some friend that they are using it to fight against
bad luck, maybe it works on them. I'm not sure though.

Nope and I have not encountered any person practicing or linking fengshui in gambling.

Gamblers and some casual players always have their lucky charm or mantra before they gamble. They tend to believe that by doing something, this will bring them some sort of good luck that will turn the odds on their favour. While this kind of practice may look outrageous, this actually helps them in easing their anxiety and giving them the push to gamble and to be fearless on their odds.

Though that may be the case, doing any some sort of fengshui to rely on one's luck should be at least avoided especially if you primarily gamble for profit. While these beliefs may have no effect or anything whatsoever on the odds, this would only help the gambler to gamble more in the process.

We are totally different to each other but it would be better if we just let others do on what they do believe as long they arent affecting or making some trouble on someone then it is really just fine.
We do have different habits and gestures before we do make out some bets even though if we are really that minding or really that sensible towards reality then there's no thing on this world
could really affect your luck chance on playing gambling.Some do just believe that it does exist because it was just purely coincidence but well it is really just their own beliefs and action to make.

The Chinese people are so strange. They act like luck is some kind of ghost that you have to lure and keep close.

I don't believe in this bullshit with lucky charms, doing or saying certain things before a bet and all. A man who blames a statue for losing in a casino presents himself as weak and childish.

That's really part of their culture and I've seen many times a Chinese does do some prayer before they go in a casino. They pray with an incense in front of buddha.
I was curious back then because I was still young during the first time I've seen it. But, I've come to realize that it's part of their culture, belief and religion.

We all just need is respect when it comes to differences in culture and beliefs.
There are even not Chinese people who have lots of rituals when it comes to their gambling activities.
Some of them have beliefs that they need to follow certain practice before anything else.
No problem with that, we are all entitled to follow what we think will give us some luck.

Yes, respect is the key. The same as the others, not all of them are into their culture and traditions. We can see that in different races and nations that the new generation don't lean that much into their beliefs.
And for us that are not well depth into their culture, it's understandable why many of them are doing it for the sake of increasing their chances of winning before they gamble.

This means they loss what they've earned within a short. This makes them have superstitious beliefs than making themselves have self control over the gambling activities. Well do you believe that religious people are most commonly those people who have high superstitious beliefs?
I have noticed this one of my neighbors, he frequently goes to church but at the same way he also frequently do betting, he was so addicted to a lottery which I think every day he buys tickets. That is their belief and I think there is no problem with that, each of us has preferences in life, I don't even believe in Fengshui even though I am half Chinese, --just respect them as long as they are harmless.

Indeed, for some circles Feng Shui is one thing that can be used as a reference, especially for Chinese people.
But in this case it all comes back to belief, of course, because I personally do consider this to be a superstition and indeed gambling is still gambling that relies on luck. but sometimes this kind of belief also for people can make people suggest even though only a few people believe in this.

An interesting belief.  This one comes first from the list so now I wonder if ever those sports betting fans have ever experienced unlucky events every time they open their sports book or book maker to bet for their favorite team?

I often have my book on my computer table so if this one is true then I shouldn't have won anything in my gambling activity but calculating my gain on my activity to date, I am on a positive bankroll so far.

This is what we called superstitious belief, right?

Well, I think every gambler has their own way of attracting luck, but for me, I'd rather believe in statistics and the chances of winning than luck. There are times we get lucky but we can never get consistent with that, so for me, Fengshui or whatever it is that would make me lucky is not necessary anymore as luck will just come when you are not expecting it, just like a thief in the night.

Most of the western gamblor go with the luck but the superstitious belief is very common in china.

I don't believe in any rituals of feng-shui. I will gamble based on my own strategy.

But as tradition goes by, we just have to respect those people who used any kinds of spiritual-related tactics to increase their winning chances.

If those are effective to them, then they just have to continue using those Fengshui stuff.

I don't believe in such practices that some religion do to keep away from bad luck. Whatever ritual you do, if your not lucky that time then there is no one to blame. If you are to win some amounts that day, your belief has nothing to do with it but instead it is your fate that it will happen. You'll just end up being disappointed if you follow too much rituals and still not able to win anything.

I don't believe in such practices that some religion do to keep away from bad luck. Whatever ritual you do, if your not lucky that time then there is no one to blame. If you are to win some amounts that day, your belief has nothing to do with it but instead it is your fate that it will happen. You'll just end up being disappointed if you follow too much rituals and still not able to win anything.

May people have beliefs attached to the things. Like many Hindus worship cow and use it for the good luck.
Many keep peacock feather as a good luck signs in their shops and business. And many hang evil eye in their houses to get rid of evil eyes.

I don't believe in that thing but I admit that thing exists among us and some people do believe in that. I also met some people who practice this Fengshui or similar, but I don't talk or discuss it too much. So related to gambling, I don't practice anything related to that thing, such as superstitious or something like that because I think playing gambling is just having fun and only related to the money. And if some people still believe in that thing, I will let them with their beliefs.

We just have to respect what they believe, besides, most of the time we only rely on gambling to win, and even if it's a skilled-based type of gambling, we still need some luck to win. They have their belief, then be it, the most important is we are responsible enough and be realistic at the same time so we will know how much we can afford to risk and our chances of winning.

Chinese gambler will surely believe on this, and they have this tradition in almost everything not just in gambling.
There's nothing wrong if you have this ritual before you gamble, what is wrong here is if you depend on that belief and spend too much money. This is still gambling, and luck will still be the main reason why we are winning. We have this kind of tradition as well, and there's nothing to lose if you believe on this sometimes.
