Has anyone seen an instance of duplicate numbered cards? I found a slabbed version of my 1A amethyst 02/49 on eBay.

Edit: actually upon further inspection, the front is a 1A but the rear is a 1. Pretty misleading...

Do you have any pictures of this?

@JUPITYR, do you know the rarity of the promo cards from the national conference? .... P1 and the NT1-NT5 cards

Here is the eBay listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/256167414554?hash=item3ba4c48b1a:g:mccAAOSwkghkvGYX&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0PkNxyk%2B8DOIiFxrkWKS25bEJuc7BVqeYapZ6qX7IiWkJ%2BCJta%2FUsxGfTgXVlYkI6zV8%2BJBVx7vIZq7LCQThD5%2F7c0vUxncvfwCeDzK4GZjHYAEWQtfxPdjkqTwBLMCQ5NeJTmS5bkQrm%2BuA%2BzqWP9IFn30tpOUTHjr7EdpaI2FW%2FHMxZUhRendDK3%2FFpYGvj8L8q%2Fbr6jthuGGoL1pNiBVGF5oh8nK2SBxIxUis6qVOVuPwUpwYPZHepguJngIB1xUn9WfIfJNr1aSAT1KggvI%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR7jh5Oi4Yg

I really think the picture of the back is of a different card i.e. bitcoin #1 02/49. The slab even has the label shifted out of position for the back reverse side picture. I messaged the seller to let them know they likely uploaded the incorrect picture.

Edit: seller has updated the picture to the correct reverse.

Crazy mis-print/mis-cut card on ebay right now.
A mash up of #11, #18, #29
The front is upside down compared to the back

Another high end miscut

With the redemption cards, you wait to send in until they send you info? I signed up a week ago but haven't heard back.

Correct... sometimes it takes a bit, but you will get an email confirming your card and there will be a form to print out & sign and then mail to Cardsmiths redemptions.

I take a picture of the redemption card w/ code showing & form for my records/safety in case there is a question/something happens

Cardsmiths will then send you the Ballet wallet a few weeks later and then you need to confirm via email that you have received it so they can load it

I also send them a picture of the back of the Ballet with the serial number and confirmation letter for further proof (This is not necessary, but I do it for my own piece of mind)

https://www.psacard.com/pop/non-sport-cards/2022/cardsmiths-currency-series-1/240381

So PSA graded the diamond refractor proofs and they are listed in the official Pop report.

Can Cardsmiths and PSA get on the same page or something? WTF is going on?

Doing some digging around on the PSA site.

https://www.psacard.com/auctionprices/non-sport-cards/2022-cardsmiths-currency-series-1/240381

This has a few of the diamond refractors listed as:

1 Bitcoin Diamond Gemstone Refractor-Proof
1A Bitcoin Diamond Gemstone Refractor-Proof
7 Nikola Tesla Diamond Gemstone Refractor-Proof
10 Bitcoin Diamond Gemstone Refractor-Proof
14 Ethereum Diamond Gemstone Refractor-Proof
28A Elon Musk Diamond Gemstone Refractor-Proof
41 Abraham Lincoln Diamond Gemstone Refractor-Proof
57 Salvatore Mundi Diamond Gemstone Refractor-Proof

Perhaps they pulled this information from ebay, as I know a few of these were listed on ebay at some point.

The page also lists most Onyx under the proper card number and name, e.g.

1 Bitcoin Onyx Gemstone Refractor 1/1

That feeds into theory that diamonds aren't legit.   And onyx has 1/1 on label

PSA came by the booth at the show.  We discussed the various types of cards with them and submitted some Diamond Proofs we had on hand as a way of jump starting the addition of Diamond Refractors to their database.  After the show we are going to work on getting them a full checklist of all supplemental cards that have been produced, including the 52 Diamond Refractor 1/1's.

You submitted Diamond Proofs as a way of jump starting the addition of Diamond refractors to their database.

I didn't think this meant that they graded the Diamond proofs and now include them in an the official Pop report for Series 1.
Doesn't this now make all the Diamond Proofs official cards to collect? This is just weird. What other card proofs are official graded by PSA?
It's bizarre.

I thought what submitting some Diamond proofs to PSA would do is that they can verify that the 1/1 Diamonds are official cards that they can now grade and include in the Series 1 Pop, not now include the proofs as official cards.

When you say physical wallets - does that include trezor? I’ve always read that using a trezor was one of the best ways to store crypto…

I still haven’t submitted my redemption cards but I was planning on holding the ballet wallets and keeping them in safe for a couple years…

I would classify the Trezor / Ledger and other such portable hardware security-module based wallets as "hardware wallets". They are definitely good, but I think there was  some drama with the Ledger recently with key-handling and privacy. I think the Trezor is better now. I wish they would stop trying to add 'apps' to the hardware wallet user interfaces though.

I'm thinking of selling two of my three diamonds and just keeping the #18. Looks like they have been selling well on eBay recently and the supply is low now... Maybe I should wait and get them graded once the diamond grading issues are sorted.

Why wouldn't they be official cards? Because they didnt come in packs? I think all that matters is that they are 1/1. Anytime something is 1/1 it is very collectible. No matter how you want to label it the card exists and people are trying to collect it. On reddit they call it the 11 card rainbow or 10 card rainbow. I think the diamonds are officially part of the series.

Just to clarify, we have no control over what PSA includes in their population reports.  That said, the Diamond Gemstone 1/1's should be listed separate from the Proofs, which it seems like PSA is already setting up since they specifically listed the Proofs in a way which we assume will be separate from the 1/1's.  If they end up getting lumped together at some point we can mention it to them, but ultimately they are the ones controlling the report.

Still, I wouldn't be overly concerned about what PSA shows on the population report.  They are always more of guide than an exact number.  For instance, if you submitted a 1/1 to PSA and got say a 9, but later cracked it out and resubmitted and again got a 9, it would show a total of two 9's in the population report.  Perhaps they'd catch it, but grading millions of cards a month it might be tricky.

PSA has been rejecting the 1/1 diamonds and/or mislabeling them as 1/1 Onyx cards. PSA was unaware of the existence or validity of the 1/1 Diamond refractors. Cardsmiths submitted a handful of the "Diamond Proofs" to PSA at the national. I believed the purpose of submitting the proofs to PSA was to prove that the 1/1 Diamonds are Series 1 Cards and can/should be graded and slabbed as 1/1 Diamond Refractors as part of the Currency Series 1 set.

When checking the official Pop report, PSA didn't just "check" the proofs to verify that 1/1 Diamonds are part of the Currency set and they can grade and label them that way. It appears as if PSA just graded the "proofs" and now include those in the official set list. There is still no verification that the 1/1 Diamond refractors will be accepted and graded by PSA.

Getting about 40 cards from psa grading in next few days.  There is a high rate of cards being miscut.  I'm thinking 20 percent.   If they are graded,  there is about a 10 percent chance of a 10.  The psa 10s will be highly coveted.

If I were to get more graded,  I'd suggest slipping cards in an oversized sleeve and toploader.  Very easy to nick a corner trying to fit in standard size sleeve

The odds of getting a 10 from psa is probably less than 10 percent of what you submit, not easy finding a perfect series 1 currency card.

I was very happy with the diamond refractors, from whatI have seen it looks like most are very well aligned, same with the Onyx cards, I am guessing the 1/1 got some special attention to detail.

Best of luck with your grading, pls share the results and pics  Wink

Looks like you are correct, Cardsmiths has sold out, I hadn't noticed that yet.
As hard as times currently are, I still really wanted to buy just 1 more box to rip.

Oh well, I am happy with my series 1 set and the few gems I have.
Beautiful cards with stunning art  Cool

Excited to hear what Cardsmiths do for a redemption program on s2, like the diamonds with s1

With grading being about 25 bucks (including shipping insurance) and that low of a rate of gem mints. One is paying 250 in grading for a 10. So..those 10s should be coveted.

yeah less than 10 percent.  The cards I submitted were cherry picked to be possible 10s. Got lots of 8s. Maybe bad edges??
