Merely teaching them and not carrying out any practical means  another setback though. Like when I engaged some of my folks on bitcoin adoption, I had to be practical while teaching them for easy understanding, I had to download a wallet, how to setup a wallet, how to transact by sending and receiving of bitcoin,  I went to the extent of opening my exchange account for them to see how I received my bitcoin on exchange after I had transferred from my custodial wallet to exchange and also how to trade bitcoin on exchange. I did all these in their very before so they could see. I also engaged them in a practical session so they could also do it themselves while I supervised them. This was how I put them through. I also encouraged them to do research online while I recommended some website and YouTube channels they could follow and watch to get more insight on how the blockchain and crypto space works.

Get rich quick scheme is more correct for altcoins and NFTs, DeFi projects that created hype in crypto market since 2020 and collapse since early 2022 started with Terra Luna, Celcius, Three Arrows Capital and Voyager.

With Bitcoin, you can not get rich quickly so it is not convincing to attract people. If you bought Bitcoin around $20000 and sold it around $60,000, it is only 3 times of your capital. It is lower than altcoins like Solana with 200 times of profit. It can be higher with DeFi and NFT tokens but altcoins are more risky than Bitcoin.

Fast comes fast goes and most of people on market can not keep their capital safely in altcoins.

You should keep doing it, educating people to understand the bear and bull season more because new investors are attracted by the profit they can quickly earn but in most cases lacks real knowledge about the different market seasons. Having the basic knowledge of the different market periods will save them from being overwhelmed when the market is down. Yes definitely one should definitely educate everyone for absolutely free. Upto the maximum extent one should try to distribute their knowledge but obviously there are some skills that you have learnt which you have to sell in order to earn money and not all education can be free so it's even okay to charge minimal amounts for the education that you are providing. well the fact that very few countries made bitcoin or crypto as a legal tender and it's seeing all this success is impressive, it just shows how bitcoin and crypto is yet to gro mw, the more adaption crypto gets the more successful it becomes, and educating people about it definitely helps a lot, and good for you for educating people you know, I did the same thing with all my friends and they all at least understand and some joined in, if everyone did the same thing it would really help spread awareness.

I really admire people who have the desire and never get tired of teaching others about Bitcoin.  I know how hard and tiring it is to teach someone who originally doesn't know any basic knowledge of Bitcoin.  Unless you have a passion for being a teacher, you will find it troublesome because of the bombardment of questions once they got interested.  Worst is, most of them would like to be spoonfed with information.  So @OP, if you happen to continue educating your friend about BTC, try to make them responsible for the additional knowledge they wanted to know.  The internet is just 1 click away, so better give them the resources where they can learn deeply about the Bitcoin ecosystem while guiding them if they became confused.

One very sure thing you have to understand is that you can a take horse to the river to drink water but you can't force it to drink water. What I did mean here is no matter how you teach people about the fact that Bitcoin is not a get rich quick business, you still gonna have numerous number of people that would still look at Bitcoin in that way, because some of them have heard how Bitcoin transformed some people's lives without knowing or taking into account how long those people did invest into Bitcoin (early investors).

Depends on someones interest because even if you do really show up some hardwork and interest on teaching some people but if their interest is not there then you would just basically wasting your time

and effort and this is the reason on why i dont really make myself do make out considerations on educating people around me.If they would tend to approach then its good but if not then i dont care.

I think the best free education on Bitcoin comes from having to use fiat for international transfers.  At least that's what I used to think when Bitcoin was being billed as a p2p payment network.  I have had plenty of experience waiting on international transfers for both work and personal reasons.  It's always a nightmare where you cross your fingers and close your eyes for a week and hope to have a happy ending that cost you a small fortune.  

Try ordering a product from Bitmain with a wire transfer at the same time as you pay with Bitcoin and you will never doubt Bitcoin's usefulness again.

Nice job, as a little bit of advice I'd say that while educating people around you about bitcoin you should also be careful not to enforce your opinions on them, try as much as possible to make the process of educating them an interactive session so that you can understand their concerns and know how to tackle them properly.

Educating people was a great help to spread out awareness and I think that is alright if you are willing to spend your time teaching other people about BTC technically or even its usage on it in society. Somewhere I also just read about the future of users reaching the 1 billion mark with BTC and what the crypto market says to them. Maybe it doesn't have to be so complicated as people will be confused about the opportunity this market offers. I think as I approach this market that I didn't really understand it before and just looked at it. I see the media talk about the negative that it takes place. But once you've grasped the information surrounding it and seen it as an opportunity for life, it's impossible to resist.

I disagree that awareness is the Issue. Are you saying that the government that is giving Bitcoin a hard time like China is not aware? and same goes for the rest of the country where the Government is doing the same thing to Bitcoin. The newbies have less to contribute to the general adoption of Bitcoin globally, they are mot even in the system yet and how far has your people's education come through? The fact is, these people that matter "Government" are fully aware of what Bitcoin is that's why they take the stand they took with Bitcoin. In terms of Bitcoin being Volatile, I can guarantee you that the day Bitcoin turns into a stablecoin, its less adoption. I like your effort but the sad truth is that no one wants to learn about Bitcoins.
Rather they want to make quick money from it.
Initially Bitcoin was not developed to make money, rather it has an objective to make the people decentralised way of using the money.

I wouldn't teach or educating people about Bitcoin even I get paid because it will harm my privacy and there's no reason why I should teach them. It doesn't mean I'm selfish, but if someone is really curious and want to understand the whole thing about it, they can start search and collecting many courses on google. Get rich quick scheme is more correct for altcoins and NFTs, DeFi projects that created hype in crypto market since 2020 and collapse since early 2022 started with Terra Luna, Celcius, Three Arrows Capital and Voyager.

Volatility is also the issue, many people will not embrace a currency that can make them rich today and become broke tomorrow.

This is true, but I also believe that many newbies fall for the scam because of ignorance or lack of "experience." The reason being is that there are many ways to run the scams. For example, they may not understand the importance of their private key or seed phrase, or maybe they just don't have a good grasp on cryptography. Don't be the victim of a scam because of this. You should understand the risks involved and take steps to keep yourself safe and secure. And, knowledge is power; the more you know, the better you can protect yourself.

Yep. Sadly, some people invest in Bitcoin because they are influenced by a sweet story from someone who succeed to be rich by investing in Bitcoin. Those people don't care about their knowledge related to Bitcoin, they are in hurry to invest because they want to succeed as well. They just realize that investing in Bitcoin isn't so easy after they bought Bitcoin and hold it for several days or weeks. Usually, these types of people are easy to panic once there is a huge FUD, they do panic selling and exit immediately.

Explaining bitcoin to people depends on the person who has knowledge of bitcoin if his intention is personal, for sure the money will be include for this matter who will get interested in bitcoin. Regarding teaching bitcoin for free to other people, I can see I already did it and saw the result just less than a year after that. I had a friend he has some economic problems and couldn't save any money because of the infraction rate and food prices, so instead of giving him free money or browsing him some money with could be worthless for him, I started teaching him about investing and bitcoin in save time now after that he is completely independent and most interesting part is he even started to teach bitcoin to other people for free and that's the shining part of the story for me.

Age is only just a number. They may be considered as elder because of their age but there are those who still look young and has a sharp mind. The only advantage of them is that they have more experience so they are more open minded than compared to younger people which thoughts are only into games. They are less serious. We have a poll here last time which ask if what are the the age of the bitcoiners.

Most of the results are from adults like 40+ and above. That is one of the proof that older people are really in to bitcoins more than the younger ones. If we want to widen the adoption in btc then we must help educate people for free and we can do this in all ages, not all on adults.

Despite the emphasis on the positive aspects of Bitcoin, the heads of government of the most countries are still talking negatively about Bitcoin. There are many governments among them who do not understand what should be done. Because they don't fully trust Bitcoin and they don't know how it works. A lot of the conversations around Bitcoin tend to be about what it is and how it works, and indeed the price, but why it exists and why it can be so incredibly important for people all over the world is not often well explained or understood.

The few people around me that had enough drive or interest to learn more about Bitcoin would eventually come across resources that underlined what Bitcoin can be to somebody in an authoritarian regime, where trust issues of money are incredibly real on a daily basis. It's that insight that seems to have provided the biggest shift in their thinking from "how can this help me get rich?" to "how can this new technology improve lives?".

The past couple of months I have made my own attempt at creating a wholesome resource to help people better understand Bitcoin in this way. The goal was to create a journey of curated resources from expert educators in the field, allowing them to first understand why Bitcoin exists and why it can be so important, and only then touch on how it works and what it is. At the same time, the hope was that they would immediately be connected with great educators and resources to learn more from if they wish to do so.

If anybody here wants to take a look at it and share your thoughts, that would be amazing. Of course, changing the mindset of someone who for many years is very familiar with the centralized financial system to a decentralized financial system is not an easy matter. You have to have a lot of understanding to explain them well especially when they are not people who like highly volatile and risky currencies like bitcoin. But I don't think you have to take full responsibility for giving him an understanding, you just have to tell him the basics of understanding and then let them figure it out for themselves.

Bitcoin was originally designed as a currency rather than an investment, but now most people view it as an investment. In my opinion, educating people about bitcoin so that they realize the benefits of bitcoin for them as bitcoin can be used as a payment method that replaces existing currency, as a store of assets...instead of just directing them to invest. I guess that's what's come when you try to teach people about something they don't understand and just wanted to earn some quick bucks. Some people will hold your responsibility in case they lose money on the potential investment that you've told them.

I myself also tried to teach some of my colleagues and friends about cryptocurrency, especially bitcoin and as of now I never received any backlash from them as I've only taught them about the basic information as well as investment and potential income they could get from crypto. Also, I never suggested they invest but rather research crypto that they would like to invest in as most of it has a lot of risks. Upon telling them the profit I've generated and earned, I've also told them about the loss to better informed them about the risks.

Not everyone can accept something that we think is good, sometimes we have to accept a disappointing return for what we have given them. You don't need to feel upset about what you did at that time, about them blaming you it's just a risk, after all they end up regretting what they did (when bitcoin pumped). Looks like teaching basic fundamental and advantage about bitcoin adopt as payment currency is better than educating some people to know bitcoin as investment assets. What I do mostly, is guide only those who show interest in what am doing because a lot of others are only after the profits. And because of the lack of knowledge of how the market work makes they are impatient when their expectations failed to come and the price goes in the opposite direction. But the thing is we must also help others who pick interest in bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market since they already build their motivation that will help them to bear the bear market when it happens and also to benefit from the profits when there is a pump.

We don't need to stop doing the right thing that will make people to have good understanding about how the crypto market works. I don't see any stress in that since my goal would be to inform people about another of using cryptocurrency and also understanding the market making themselves safe from scammers attempt if any.

Dude I'm 100% sure of what I said. Check what you said: year after year price goes up = wrong. Price does appreciate over the LONG TERM, but long term means many years, not annually. You need to reexamine what you wrote, if you think education and accuracy is important.

It's not education, it's fraud, mate. I don't know how people educate others, but for myself, bitcoin education never talks about investing. I can only tell them that it can also be an investment but I don't want to show them how to invest. Bitcoin is not always profitable and the risk is very high, if they want, they can do their own research on social media or find someone else. For me, I just want to teach them the basics. I don't want money involved, if they make a profit it's fun, but if they lose, they will blame us and our relationship will fall apart.
