And it begs me the question of Jerwin being one of the longest champion in recent years, not just in this division but for the boxing as a whole. This division is though, but I think he is also cherry picking his fight but now it seems that Puma Martinez has exposed him so bad.

I will also say that he needs to change his whole trainer, again, he was good early and taught that they can really with just his boxing and chin, but don't get me wrong, he is a one dimension boxer.

It really was a disappointment, it looks like Martinez camp did well on this fight.  Ancajas stamina is still the issue here, and it seems that Ancajas trainers need to be changed.

I have a doubt about Ancajas future, if he moves up in weight division he will be facing much talented and harder puncher.  I also don't think he will perform well in the upper division thinking that he still has the same set of trainers.

I never seen Ancajas being aggressive on this fight, he is more on a counter puncher which prioritized clinch than throwing punches.

This is not the result that we all wanting to see, but I guess Ancajas reign is over now. He is still young, but the competition is getting tougher in his division and Martinez is just one boxer that has caught up with him.

I do agree that he was unmask, his weaknesses as a boxer and it was exploited by Martinez and his team. And so as we argued, there should be no excuses this fight, Martinez took control of the fight and the judges saw the fight fair and scored it right. Not sure what Ancajas future will look like from here but let's just be supportive still of Filipino boxers.

The rematch only happened because Ancajas got a rematch clause on their first fight contract. Team Ancajas supposedly planned to move up in weight after the first defeat but they changed their decision and went on to activate their rematch clause. They thought they can win and then move up in weight as a champion for better rankings.

Ancajas was a changed fighter. He's not supposed to fight like that. Or perhaps Martinez's style is just bad for him. Nevertheless, Ancajas didn't let his hands go and was always reluctant.

Well-deserved win by Martinez. Now that the IBF strap is outside of PBC, perhaps Estrada, Martinez, Bam, and Chocolatito can mix it up to finally unify the belts thru DAZN.

There is a rematch clause that their team activated, maybe because they think that they can win in the second part. However, as you have said, Ancajas doesn't have a gameplan, they said that they have weight issues and or overtrain. But they have enough time to developed a good plan for Ancajas. All the blame should be in his team and trainer in my opinion. So there should be no alibi and they have to accept that he got defeated by Martinez the second time with a complete shut out.

It was very obvious in their first fight but we think it's because of the weight issue of Ancajas, we believe his excuse but when we saw it on this rematch, it was proven that Martinez was really the better fighter, in fact, he dominated Ancajas twice in a row, so he deserved to be a champion.

Indeed! We didn't saw that coming because all we know is that Ancajas is still comfortable to fight Martinez as he did manage to withstand the latter's punches in their first encounter given Ancajas's situation that time, but Martinez has improved as well and gave Ancajas some struggles. I definitely agree that he should rest and take his time to reflect whether it's time to move up or should he start from the beginning in the same division, either way, he's still young and probably can face other champions in both said divisions above.

Well, we cannot really blame them for that action because they believed that Ancajas can get his belt and glory back to his possession as he is just having a hard time in keeping up with the weight needed last time that is why they feel that Ancajas can do the job done this time, but it unfortunately, it wasn't the case this time.

Even us believed the same but we haven't expected that Martinez came prepared and decided not to give him a chance to bounce back. So now, Ancajas and his camp have all the reasons in the world to climb the next division as the weight is also not comfortable to him anymore.

There's no weight problem with him why he loses but Fernando Martinez is just strong for him.

Excuses in boxing are nothing but excuses. They're alibis. You don't usually give them any weight.

Ancajas has always been Ancajas. He's fighting that way. That has been his fighting style. And as bisdak40 said that style of fighting is the losing style when confronted with Martinez's style.

It's just weird that Ancajas and his team immediately asked for a rematch when they seem to have learned no lesson at all and changed nothing at all. They were up for a replay.
