12 words seeds only began in 2013 in bip 39 standard https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/BIP_0039One of the oldest and safest wallets is electrum, which is compatible with mnemonic seeds.

It can be 12, 15, 18 or 24 words, but 12 and 24-word BIP39 wallets are the most common.
For bitcoin, I prefer Electrum, it has its own own seed phrase differently, you can import BIP39 seed phrase on Electrum, but you can not import Electrum wallet seed phrase on BIP39 wallets, except Bluewallet. Electrum support lightning payment.
I like Bluewallet also, newbies can use it for lightning payment and support BIP39 and Electrum.
Never reveal your seed phrase to anyone, anyone that knows it can spend you coin.

No. Am talking about the past, what wallets people were using btw end of 2010 or q1 2011.
One type of wallets people were using that time was paper wallet. It was a combination of an address an a private key written on a paper. The other wallet I know people could use that time was bitcoin core. I ve seeds from the past and I remember its electrum but couldn’t get it work with electrum
If I'm not wrong, in the very old versions of electrum, there was a seed phrase which was created using a different algorithm and a different word list.

I believe it's safe to assume that the most used wallet back in 2010-2011 was bitcoin core and the name of the software was bitcoin-qt, if am not wrong! However, HD wallets and bip32 was introduced in 2012. So if you are certain your wallet is older than that then it should be in the form of private keys or a file usually named wallet with no extension. If you have a 12 word seed then your wallet certainly can't be older than 2012. Try to import it into Electrum or a wallet that supports bip39 standard and see if it works.

Not quite true. Take a look at the topic created by ThomasV in November, 2011. In that time, electrum was using a 12 word seed. That seed was created using a different algorithm from a word list containing 1626 words.

Yes 12 different words, no chance to be before 2012?i deeply remember it must be earlier 2011, cause bitcoin was around 0.2dolars something and it was showing total funds below. My seeds exactly fits the old electrum mnemonic v1 wordlist, its also says old type but i can not see any transactions and no balance

I got to know about Bitcoin somewhere around 2011 and remember Bitcoin-Qt only as wallet of choise. Don't remember if it was called already Bitcoin Core in 2011. I was not too happy about the need to have only a file backup of your wallet and you had to be careful to always have a backup of the most recent version of your wallet, as there was the possibility to loose keys and funds when your most recent backup was outdated and your last copy of your wallet. (Not going into too much detail why.) I don't remember when I first heard about Armory which to my knowledge first implemented some sort of deterministic key derivation (not compatible to todays HD wallet derivation schemes). Early Armory didn't use normal words, though. ...
Could be something with derivation path (but I wouldn't assume this to be a topic in those early years)? Which software version did you use to check your old mnemonic words?

The first bitcoin wallet software was Bitcoin-QT, which was a Bitcoin client as well. You can still download and run the very first binaries: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=68121.0. In 2011, MultiBit was launched, which was very popular at that time. Then, Electrum which is probably one of the most used. Later, in 2012, Armory. You should move this to the Wallet Software board.

Right. Even now, bitcoin core doesn't support seed phrase. All of my attentions re on electrum somehow.
If all words exist in the old electrum word list, there's a big probability that the wallet has been generated by electrum. Maybe, the wallet hasn't been funded at all and that's simply why you don't see any balance.

Usually the first things that are shown in the Electrum console tab is the text banner response from the Electrum server to which your Electrum wallet connects. That might include some details you remember, usually a donation public address and maybe as motivation attempt what amounts have been donated by others. And whatever the Electrum server owner deems fit to let his peers know about.

It doesn't matter what software was used to create the seed in the past. If it's a valid seed, then you should be able to restore your wallets. As I recall, Electrum was in development as early as 2011, but the first release was in 2013. The most widely used wallet during the time you're referring to was bitcoin core. Have you tried to restore the seed in the current version of Electrum?

12 words seeds only began in 2013 in bip 39 standard https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/BIP_0039This isn't true. Very early version of Electrum (0.X) on 2011 already generate 12 words by default. I made a post about it few months ago at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5379817.msg58942538#msg58942538. But OP should already know about it. What am i doing wrong
You misremember detail of how you manage your Bitcoin. Any empty wallet would erase the transactions in history if its not in use? Empty no funds untouched wallet? Like 10 years? Or transactions must shown up all the in the wallet whenever u open?

Transactions are recorded and stay in the blockchain forever. If you don't see any transaction, it means that the wallet you opened has been never used.

hello have you tried armony wallet?
Is that a typo? Do you mean Armory Wallet? No never heard of it, i look for desktop wallets around 2011
I think he means Armory Wallet which was first released in early 2012. If you were extracting individual private keys, that might have been the wallet you used. That could explain why your seed phrase doesn't restore anything when restored in Electrum. Armory does use seed phrases, but they're not Bip39 compatible.

Armory gives you 18 sets of meaningless four-letter words which is called root key. Given that OP has a seed phrase including 12 words, it can't be generated by Armory.

Did you have a lot of bitcoins in your wallet? Are you sure you didn't have a dream? When I set a password on my Bitcoin Core and forgot it, I tried to remember it for several hours, but then I gave up and deleted this wallet, then installed a mobile Trust Wallet that gives more functionality. And I screened 12 words and now my wallet is the most secure, although it is empty

When I set a password on my Bitcoin Core and forgot it, I tried to remember it for several hours, but then I gave up and deleted this wallet, ...
It doesn't make any sense to delete the wallet as 1) you may remember your password suddenly (human memory is sometimes like that), 2) if your wallet password wasn't too complex it might be possible to crack it, especially if you remember parts of it (there are lots of tools for that, hashcat is one of them) 3) it's almost always a mistake to not write down a freshly invented password, even if you only tweaked your personal favorite password somehow for your wallet (or whatever password creation procedures you use; humans are usually terribly bad to create good passwords) ... then installed a mobile Trust Wallet that gives more functionality. And I screened 12 words and now my wallet is the most secure, although it is empty Did you make a screenshot of your 12 mnemonic words of your Trust wallet, a digital copy of it on a internet connected mobile device? Terribly wrong procedure and good look with the security of your wallet in the future. Oh, don't cry later should it get suddenly emptied after you put some funds into your mobile Trust wallet. (If you made a screenshot it likely got already distributed to some cloud services who do unknown picture screening by their so-called picture recognition tools to identify picture content, tag pictures, you name it...

It doesn't make any sense to delete the wallet as 1) you may remember your password suddenly (human memory is sometimes like that), 2) if your wallet password wasn't too complex it might be possible to crack it, especially if you remember parts of it (there are lots of tools for that, hashcat is one of them) 3) it's almost always a mistake to not write down a freshly invented password, even if you only tweaked your personal favorite password somehow for your wallet (or whatever password creation procedures you use; humans are usually terribly bad to create good passwords)
Did you make a screenshot of your 12 mnemonic words of your Trust wallet, a digital copy of it on a internet connected mobile device? Terribly wrong procedure and good look with the security of your wallet in the future. Oh, don't cry later should it get suddenly emptied after you put some funds into your mobile Trust wallet. (If you made a screenshot it likely got already distributed to some cloud services who do unknown picture screening by their so-called picture recognition tools to identify picture content, tag pictures, you name it...
The wallet was deleted in 2019 and there is no way to restore it! Even on Android sends? But they are checked by a robot, not a person? I read an article that a married couple who stole bitcoins worth several million-billion dollars kept a private key in the cloud and nothing happened to it

If yes then you could have a blockchain.info legacy wallet. This is a non-hd wallet and the mnemonic is used as a password reminder.
As far as I know, seed phrases generated by blockchain.info wallet from that list contains 16-20 words. As OP's seed phrase includes 12 words, I don't think it can be generated by blockchain.info wallet.

hello can you start again from the beginning? do you remember having an electrum wallet in 2010? the seeds you have are in v1? but the seeds you have open an empty wallet?
Yes, all u say is exactly correct, i do remember i had some wallets around 2010 probably end of 2010. I thought its 2009 but no, long time i ve been thinking it must be q4 of 2010. So whatever we talked about that in this forum some months ago. U can examine the details. nc50lc shared the link in first page

Guys, Electrum was mentioned in November 10, 2011 for the very first time in this forum, it can't have been an Electrum wallet. There weren't neither seeds nor HD wallets back then. If it was a wallet funded prior 2011, it must have been using Satoshi's Bitcoin-QT.

I read an article that a married couple who stole bitcoins worth several million-billion dollars kept a private key in the cloud and nothing happened to it. What's your point? That it's OK to keep seeds, private keys, and other sensitive information in the cloud because a married couple somewhere didn't have theirs hacked/stolen/lost? You can drive your car 100 miles/hour every day without a seatbelt and never have an accident if you are lucky. But you can also crash and die the first time you do it. You can smoke for 50 years and live a long life and die an old man at 85, or you can get cancer and die at 30. You don't use those examples to cheat on security and your safety. The goal should be to follow proper procedures to lower the chances of bad things happening to you, no matter if it's related to your personal health or your financials.

Why did you cut out my phrase from the context? In my post, it was about the fact that I don't believe that Android could send my photos and screenshots to some cloud for checking, because I have turned off the synchronization with Google Drive. And even if my photos and screenshots secretly go to some cloud can't be checked by a person, but some robot does them

And even if my photos and screenshots secretly go to some cloud can't be checked by a person, but some robot does them A real person might not be interested in checking your data due to millions of other files that may or may not have greater priority. When the Coinomi wallet incident happened a few years ago, it turned out that Coinomi was sending seed phrases from their desktop users to Google services for spellchecking. That data was also supposed to be checked by a bot or automatic service. Despite that, a significant sum of money was lost and someone somewhere got hold of the unencrypted seed phrase. A bot couldn't do that, but a person having access to the bot's data could.

What recovery programs will you use? How could you scratch the inside of the disc? Did you open it?

Hello guys, i want to ask to old people who follows bitcoin since the beginning or anyone which has a knowledge about. What kind of desktop wallets re using in that time? What were the wallet names for windows? With the 12 mnemonic seeds
As this is board for Electrum - yes, long time ago there was something like that, Electrum 1, with their implementation of seed, 12 words, their dictionary. And their own method of calcution seed<->entropy and derivation path (addresses). What is interesting, I did some tests in the past and it prooved that now every combination of words is "valid" - there is no checkum to say if seed is correct or not, but the way how they calculate seed excludes some combinations of words.

You may download the list of all addresses ( http://alladdresses.loyce.club/) sorted by date and then you may check each address in block explorer (like https://blockchair.com/) to find +- the range of addresses. Then you may compare that list with list of addresses sorted by balance ( http://addresses.loyce.club/) where you may find addresses which holds 10btc (1000000000 sats). Comparing both lines will give you the answer.

One direction, as already said, would be the list of addresses with balance shared by LoyceV: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5254914.0 or http://addresses.loyce.club/Another direction would be the blockchain-as-database thingy, I don't know how good it is, you can find it at https://www.dolthub.com/repositories/web3/bitcoinThere you can make queries like (output_value is also in satoshis) SELECT * FROM `transactions` where output_value > 999999999 and output_value < 1010000000 and is_coinbase = 0 LIMIT 100; and then look up the transactions, maybe on a block explorer. I am "newbie" with that platform too, I only had it bookmarked some time ago. Keep in mind that you may need some SQL knowledge and also the queries must be very quick. You can play with the block numbers to approximate the time range for your desired tx.

Guessing can be unreliable since the 10BTC+ in your wallet can be in multiple addresses and there's no way to link them with each other specially if you haven't reused any of the address. It may be possible if you've only received the bitcoins whole - in one transaction. BTW, " wallet" is not " address": - Wallet is your Electrum client.
- Address is what you're using to send/received bitcoins to your wallet.

There is only one adress i used, in receive tab never click on to create one more, am very sure about it and it was starting with “1b….” letters. And always used same adress.

I downloaded but the txt file it is so big, tried some different softwares to open up its not working, cause of the size, still working on it Large text files aren't meant to be "opened", it's meant to search. If you tell me what balances you're looking for, I'll get you a smaller file. If it has to start with "1b" (case insensitive), I'll leave out the rest.
