Dear Forum,

After several months of intensive reading about the blockchain technology, the time has come to finally start investing. As I have zero experience with investing money, I would like to show you my portfolio and ask you for a feedback / tips / criticism. In generall I have about 1400€ to invest, this money is gaming money for me - Of course I would prefer to win money  So here is my list:

For me some coins/tokens like EWT, SYSCOIN and toncoin were pure gamble. I didn't even think if that would be a wise decision if you are picking up toncoin. As far as i know that there are two toncoin. 1 created by chinese developers and another 1 from russian developers.
Both were being contradicted from one to the each other. The development was not so impressive and i can't even understand what's main target for this project.
We didn't need toncoin anymore and that's purely hype caused by telegram rumour to launch a coin in the past. You can replace it.

 For me IMO probably i will choose those projects that have good history in the previous run and which is still more popular in the market nowadays because surely they can win again in the long run, and for me even they reach their current ATH only where in its enough and a big win for me as well. Imagine what percentage you will have if you bought at the bottom and they recover back to the ATH..

You  certainly skipped the good ones which you may have to focus instead of putting 50€ to some unknown tokens.  If you find yourself investing to a project you knowing nothing about, then that money may just be in the wrong investment.

Most of us put a large amount for BTC while few on ETH and other Layer1 protocols. So once again you have to ask why you allocate to such token.

Where are Bitcoin and ethereum?, why are you ignoring them? It would be a mistake if your portfolio doesn't have bitcoin and ethereum. Instead of betting 50€ on 14 different tokens, I will invest them all in bitcoin. Maybe you are betting on them and thinking that they can x10, x100 will make you rich, but I'll tell you that's not going to happen, it's not okay to allocate portfolios like this. Too many coins and it's not necessary, just focus on 3 to 5 coins and DCA if their price drop you will get profit faster.

maybe if i were you, i would put it for 3 coins only, matic, bnb and ethereum I think it is more promising and has a good future than all you have in your portfolio above, you can learn a lot about the altcoins you have in this forum

There are so many bad tokens with low liquidity in your portfolios. Think about that. It's better to replace all of them with low liquidity which was under 10 millions USD as daily volume trade with some better tokens that available in the market. I think you must think about that if you are looking for profit and you shall go for the tokens which was always getting hyped. The sustainable development and growth actually needed if you wanna go for long term. These days the news will come once the project had been developed some good products.

I see that your wallet is free of bitcoin as well as major altcoins such as Ethereum, TRx, ADA, XRP, LTC, BNB These strong currencies have a known history in the market and a good future and will rise immediately with the rise of bitcoin.
Anyway, on the list you put there:

These coins are good and I expect them to have a good future and I advise you to increase the value of your investment from them while the other coins I do not know about.

It would have been so much better if OP actually replied to some of the comments right here.

But anyways, there are lot of coins that I never heard of and probably half of your list are just pure speculation that doesn't have any value to even begin with just investing for the sake of "investment". I would put up Bitcoin and Ethereum and also BNB as well onto the list, because it's just bit weird if you are looking for some portfolio but ignoring those coins to invest.

His list are mostly composed of undervalued coins. That must be the one he preferred and not those who are in the mainstream already like bitcoins and ethereum. There are investors that are like that. They think those coins potential aren't fully unlocked yet and they want to be a part of it before it happens. That is already their choice and we can't do much about it but for us we are already happy and contented with what bitcoin and ethereum has to offer.

There's also more to come from these two coins now that eth is transforming and expected to become better while for bitcoin everyone is speculating that it will reach 100k or more, later on.

OP is investing peanuts and would not get rich by investing that much on top mc coins even during next bullrun. Lowcaps to microcaps have more risk but they have so much more room to grow then top 10marketcap coins for example.

I agree with that, luck is something that cannot be predicted and guessed, Like the luck of DOGEcoin and SHIBA Inu holders.

I appreciate your 17 portfolio lists, although there are some that I think are bad, but you could be lucky. It's okay if he won't get rich with his technique. The key here is about being consistent with his investments and the set of choices. Consistency plus having a good choice of investments are going to make him rich someday. Right now, if someone doesn't have much money to invest, it's okay. You'll get there someday that you'll be having bags of investments but don't stop investing and do it while you can right now with the little that you have.

Such is the luck that we never know when it will come,
i agree with you that the ideal is 10 in the portfolio list and prioritize the top coins,
coins like Bitcoin, BNB, Ethereum are mandatory things I feel to include in the portfolio

A good amount to start in my opinion. While I had chosen so many beautiful projects at the top, when I scrolled down to the bottom, I saw that he had allocated money for projects whose names I did not know. Over diversified, and If I only have that small capital I’d rather use the 50% for my trading and the rest will be invested in the top coins. I know you can’t become rich by doing that easily but being consistent, your profit can be more which you can use to achieve your goal especially on becoming more profitable. He said he's been researching for a few months and he's just started picking investments and these are all his picks, no bitcoin, ethereum and bnb. Maybe he doesn't like these popular coins because he thinks they won't be able to bring him huge profits. look at the 17 coins he holds mostly low cap coins and most likely asset xx is his target.

It is good that the OP divided his money over several coins but I have not heard of at least 50% of them... As some others, I am missing some big coins such as ETH, BNB and offcourse BTC. It is good that this id gaming money but what is your plan? When do you sell or buy?

You have a good portfolio but as a beginner, if you prefer a long-term holding, you better switch to top coins like ETH, BTC and BNB. Always do backtracking to see the potential of each coin. You could check the potential of each coin based on its history and the price that it reached during the bull season. Always pick well-established coins so you would have an assurance of good profit when the bull run approaches.

I think the lists are OK, not because we are not familiar with the coin, they are not good.  Even so, I find several decent altcoins on OP's list, and I just prefer to think that those unknown to me is a gamble investment wherein the possibility of 1000x profit is possible in a much shorter span of time due to, price valuation, possible pump and dump and hypes.

It is essential to diversify, but over-diversification will not be able to provide him with the optimal returns he is looking for. In order to minimize risk, he should get rid of some of the coins and replace them with commodity coins like Ether and bnb. His list has many strange coins and should be removed.

I find it hard to watch all of these coins and how are you going to sell them? I mean, what specific price before you're going to sell them? Although, the list is okay but it's just too many and there are coins that I don't know there though it takes some time to research each of them but I think it's more convenient if you just invest most of your money into Bitcoin rather than diversifying too much in an altcoins. I think you will be having a hard time too to watch and maintain whether what coins you have to sell.

For all those coins you have mentioned, only LivePeer I know do experience a great increase since their inception.

I owned those coins at around $1 value way back years and guess what, the price increased to up to $50 if I remember it correctly. Checking the price, it's now around $10 and for me a good entry if you understand the risks.

For other coins on your portfolio, good luck managing those. Good to see that you are now starting to build your own experience.

He researches all of them and then selects them so it's his choice.

I think it doesn't matter if there is no Bitcoin and ETH on the list,
because indeed ETH and Bitcoin are already expensive in terms of price, but for BNB I think it's a mistake and I agree,

I think that's a great way to diversify a portfolio but investment like this one on altcoins should be focused to mid term timeframe because most of the altcoins in the market are having short lived life of pumps. When it's time to corrections, they suffer a heavy amount of losses.

That’s a very diversified portfolio. Gaming, energy, data storage, internet things… you nearly covered all.  You probably don’t need anything else for your retirement. Now all you need to do is raising them up shares. Maybe add some bittorrent (btt) too because it is the leading piracy token. Other than that, this fund looks quite promising. You said you have no prior experience but your portfolio says the otherwise. You should post your trades here maybe some other people would want to follow your moves.

You are investing in so many small cap coin but you must remember that the capital become very low at this moment. It's better if you are removing some and then try to focus with some coins. I don't know maybe you need to hear this, I used to hold that Phala network until last month where I switched to Azero, with the little pump from BTC to 25,000$ Azero doubled my investment with ease, and I watched Phala network growing from 0.10$ to 0.14$ only.

You should not target a year when holding your coins, next year is 2023 and I believe that bear market will still be alive, probably starting to get weaker and time flows by, the best time to look into is the next BTC halving, trust me you aren't the only one, even the whales 🐳 knows best.

Don't you like bitcoin and ethereum? They are the most reliable of all. For me, if you are interested in investing a portion of your money in cryptocurrencies, bitcoin is a must, and maybe include also ethereum. It's been proven over the years. Although their potential to multiply your profit is not as high as the other coins but you are also at risk of losing a huge portion of your investment. Some coins even die which means your investment will turn into zero.

Looking further into your portfolio, I also have a small amount of polkadot. I have axie infinity tokens because I own more than a hundred pets but I am doubtful about its future, I don't like what its main dev is doing at the moment. And lastly, I am keeping syscoin on my watchlist because of its sudden movement history. Planning to buy syscoin before the next bitcoin halving.

Same with me. Most on his list are I think new or maybe not new but only unpopular. If that was my money I will prefer to not divide my funds on those coins but I will just stick on a lesser coin but all coins are well known already because I am more sure with them. And yes he missed the important ones.

It is okay if we can't add bnb or eth but btc should always be in every crypto investor's portfolio because this is what drives this market and if they disregard this coin then other coins that they prioritize will hardly move upwards. Even if this is a gambling money, op said that he still expects to make a profit or to not lose it. He already bought the coins but better if he sells them when the bull run returns.

when you want to play with your money and want it of course, you want to bet and win it and of course short time when the market is like this is a solution but if it is a long term investment buying everything and spending it into tokens/altcoins is not a good thing because seeing some friends and realistic information with current prices that the market will plunge very deeply. so it's good to buy in installments with 1-3 altcoins that are definitely brilliant

Hi DjDav. The only one I would buy for sure on your list is IOTA. Gelato maybe but I prefer LINK. Another option you should consider is MATIC because holding it will allow you to get your MAXX finance airdrop. After the free claim round you can stake your MATIC for 10% APY on stader.

dont buy shitcoin which is have no utilities at all , just pick coins from top 10 or top 50 from coinmarketcap it will give us certainity , although no one could guarantee it will 100% safety. Luna case should be our attention , even top project could crash so how about new project which is still in developtment stages. research on many projects will help us to identify which project worth to invest  and which is not worth or full or risk.

You invested everything in Luna, condolences to you, you will no longer have a chance to get it back. As a lesson here, do not just put your eggs in one basket, but make sure you have many baskets to put them in. That is the most basic principle that you need to keep in mind before investing. Remove Luna from your head and start from scratch with more promising coins, you can just get your lost money back by starting over instead of whining.

first of all let me say sorry for my late respond - I dindt get notified about the many responses. So THANK YOU very much, I read all the answers and I appreciate your opinions.

So let me give you an update - as I have only invested 300€ until now.

I also think that my portfolio is too "big" and that something like Bitcoin or Ethereum is missing. So I will also include ETH in my updated portfolio.

Some of you guessed it right: I mainly chose very unpopular coins/tokens which I think will rise in the next bullet market.

Even though, I still chose some "big" L1 Chains which will grow for sure (in my opinion). For example Algorand I expect to make massiv profit in the next bullet run or even before. Why: The coming Football World Cup and the cooperation between Algorand and FIFA --> There is a hugeeeee market related to FIFA and for example NFTs. Algorand is perfectly suitable for proceeding such NFTs orders (reliable, very fast, low gas fees). Besides that Algorand has a very steady growth if you take a look at historic snapshots from coinmarketcap.

Anyways, let me show you how I changed my Portfolio.

Once more I really appreciate your help and at the same time I would please you to take a deeper look into some of the listed coins/tokens. Don't you like bitcoin and ethereum? They are the most reliable of all. For me, if you are interested in investing a portion of your money in cryptocurrencies, bitcoin is a must, and maybe include also ethereum. It's been proven over the years. Although their potential to multiply your profit is not as high as the other coins but you are also at risk of losing a huge portion of your investment. Some coins even die which means your investment will turn into zero.

Looking further into your portfolio, I also have a small amount of polkadot. I have axie infinity tokens because I own more than a hundred pets but I am doubtful about its future, I don't like what its main dev is doing at the moment. And lastly, I am keeping syscoin on my watchlist because of its sudden movement history. Planning to buy syscoin before the next bitcoin halving.

I think they secretly bought bitcoin and ethereum for sure it would be better to put money in the coin, although now the price continues to fall. that's not something to worry about because I'm sure the coin will have another big pump at the next halving. This is very minimal risk and effective

I See your point but let me explain my thoughts.
99% of "blockchain companies" which we can see in todays market we will probably not be able to find in the near future - probably already in the next bullet market there will appear as many new faces and ideas as those which will disappear forever.
Thus, from an profit oriented perspective why should I invest the majority of my money into coins which are already the biggest ones? I agree, in the near future we will probably still see high profits with ETH and BTC, but why? Will we see them because they offer the best Technologie / Idea? I strongly doubt it; in a society which successfully implemented the ideas of blockchain into their society will use different approaches than these two as both are too inefficient.

But as already mentioned I totally understand your point that I should invest into ETH or BTC - would you recommend me to now buy 300€ ETH at a price of around 1,7K?

Coming back to my thoughts I would like to start asking when would you expect the next bullet market? 
The next bullet run?
What are the arguments for a crypto winter?
Of course there are some but at the same time there are so many parameters which talk against such a trend.
When did coins/tokens gain the most profit? I would say during the beginning of COVID-19. At the beginning of an international crisis.
in March 2022 and April 2022 - the time in which markets got heavily effected by the Ukrainian war - we could actually see a quite strong "crypto market". Who knows what could have happened without LUNA.

To be honest I will expect very difficult next months for Europe/Western World as winter and several problems are facing us. There will be the momentum of several
crises such as energy prices, high inflation, lockdown like rules for several weeks, increasing poverty so on and so on.

Why should not happen what has happened in March 2020?

I think that it is also possible to earn a decent return on a major coin, especially if you got here early. I know a bear market can still occur but it will now be hard for them to reach their earlier price like 1 to 2 dollar per coin.

This can also be the reason on why some invest on a new coin or on low cap coins. They think they will see a new bitcoin and ethereum again but up until now, the two coins are still the biggest. Many have attempted but they have failed. This is why investors must be careful and don't fully trust the coin or hodl them for too long because you might lose more than what you could already earned if you have sold early.

It's very high as a price to buy, You shall wait until bitcoin will be dumped agaion. That depends on what's your purpose buying ethereum for now. if you wanna go for long term and it doesn't matter a lot with the current price.

Ethereum is good to buy at $1000 to $1200 of course if you can get it you are lucky,

The market is falling again after some bad news was released about the Fed as well as the bitcoin release event of Mt.Gox that disturbed the market. If you decide to hold it for a long time, you can buy it now. The old ATH of ETH is close to $5k, comparing current prices is suitable to buy and hold.
