Another update on the undercard, Top Rank has added Nico Ali Walsh, the the grandson of “The Greatest.” He is still a bubbling Middleweight, so the future looks bright and hopefully he can carry the last name of his Grand Dad in boxing again. He will be fighting Billy Wagner, in six rounds.
It's good that we will see him fight in this under card, however, he could be pressure in his shoulder because of his last name. So we will see in the future, if he has what it takes to carry the name or simply another ordinary boxer that has the legacy in his name. Ortiz though is known to be “The Technician”, hehehe. So both of them are technician, but obviously, Loma is better all around boxer, he can beat you in several ways until you quit.
I don't think that are any boxers that are more technical than Lomachenko. I'm not sure about Ortiz, but we have seen how Lomachenko destroys with any of the boxing style.

Really? Didn't heard that Loma was actually making some excuse on why he lost that fight, I respect Loma because of what he is and he is viewed as big brother in lightweight division but he should know to give credits too because Lopez did good from that fight. He may have injury that time or not, Lopez still won the fight and that can't be changed no matter what the excuse is.
Indeed, the impact will remain the same. He wins that fight and the memories will be there. No need for any excuses, they are just all pro and continue to move forward and chase for another opportunities in proving their skills and become a champion again. There's always room for improvement and with proper trainings and good promoters, this fighter's name will continue to be hype. Especially Loma, after this fight if he will win, which most expect him to do that. He will have more money fights to come, and who knows a challenge with the belt holder will be the next target of his camp. If he wanted to have an excuse, then he could have cancel the fight and re schedule it for a later date when his shoulder is healthy. So maybe he just wanted to push for the fight and hope that he will win. But Lopez was really condition and that there's no where that he can beat a boxer like Teo. And so he move on, and now making another comeback that will bring his name in the division and hopefully if he wins here, the champion is going to wait for him, (either Devin Haney or George Kambosos, his original opponent).

Bob Arum and Walsh are just riding under the Muhammad Ali name. I am not saying that it is impossible for him to improve but so far I don't see anything special since his debut. Bob Arum cannot baby him forever, a cherry-picked opponent will soon upset him. I bet he will have a worse career than Salvador Sánchez II and Jorge Paez Jr. Ortiz though is known to be “The Technician”, hehehe. I cannot really say anything but all praises to this Ukrainian phenom. Absolutely one of the greatest. Very gifted and technical. He maybe not the biggest puncher out there but he is still very entertaining to watch. 2 Olympic gold medals. Won his first world title in his 3rd pro fight. He became a 2 division champion in his 7th fight and was able to achieve his 3rd division championship in his 12th fight (these are probably the fastest).

Considering the weight division, Shakur is somehow at a disadvantage because he isn't a normal 135 lbs boxer so yeah it is wise to say that it is more difficult for Loma to beat Haney than Shakur.
Yeah, though the weight difference is only 5-8 pounds for each division, but we can look Canelo who're the best on super middleweight but got beaten on light heavyweight division. I don't really think Haney would rank up very soon since many people will judge him if he's scared to defend his belts against other boxer. I wonder what the next opponent for Lomachenko after Ortiz, maybe Tank? considering he have WBA belt. Shakur came from 130 pounds and then declared that he can't shrink his weight anymore so now he's moving 135 pounds, it's still to early to judge Shakur but he should at least test the water first before cracking the boxers in the top. Normally, he should fight through ranks too just like the other boxers. And just like you said, there's no reason for Haney to climb the next division, he doesn't have some problems in his weight too. It's much better for him to defend his belt for now. And if in-case Haney will indeed climb up, Tank Davis is more suitable to fight Loma. I'm surprised with Shakur's decision but it is what it is, when the a boxer feels that he cannot maintain the weight anymore, he need to move up to be able to perform at his best. Haney might stay in his division for awhile, but if he decide, that's alright because there's nothing for him to prove anymore. He already gave us some few signs that he might be going to the next weight class before he declared that he cannot meet the weight needed for his fight against Robson. Personally, he did a good decision because he knew what he needed to do rather than forcing his weight to shrink, he knew that it is much better to have a fresh start in the next division while he is still young.

Yeah if he really feel the pain he can ask for reschedule or he can be bring it out and cancel the fight, the moment that he proceed means that he's willing to take the risk, and we saw what happened during the fight, Lopez take the win and now Loma after some time away from the limelight is now back and trying to make a hype on his name. We just needed to wait till the fight ended and see if he will proceed and challenge anyone who holding the current belt for this division.

So he can have few wins here and there and build this name, just like what they did to JCC Jr. Fighting all tomato can and cab drivers in Mexico and once he venture into the big boys, he wasn't like his Father. So let's see how far Nico can go with his career, he can earn millions by just by his last name. And hopefully he can go and win a belt at least to make everyone around him proud.

Arum knows how to play with the audiences and fans. With the name behind Walsh, it can be a future money maker for Arum, he will continue to expose his fighter and make him look good. Two things, he can train hard and might achieve more success or Arum will just keep using him and hyping his name to attract more possible fans to believe and support. Still on his hands, if he will pursue and try everything, he got to line with his granddad's footprints there's nothing wrong in dreaming of having a successful career if he will back it up with hard work.

Chavez Jr. at least made it into a world championship level. Robbery or not, it was a close fight when he won his WBC middleweight belt against Zbik and he successfully defended it against world-class opponents before losing it to future Hall of Fame Maravilla Martinez which he nearly stopped in the late rounds. I just don't see Nico Ali Walsh reaching the world level. I think Tommy Fury, Jake Paul, and Ricky Hatton's son have better chances of becoming world-class fighters. But Nico can take advantage of the ride in order to earn a good amount of money.
I miss the days when there were also world title fights in the undercards. Legendary Manny Pacquiao for instance used to defend his title while on the undercards like during the Lewis-Tyson fight. Glorious days for boxing. Now it's all about playing safe and money.

True, those were the days that you can literally just wait and watch before the actual main card, because the undercard is pretty much stack up with names and champion belt also on the line and they are all name fighters in the undercard. But now there are only one the main card that we would only watch till it's on. Now promoters are playing safe and making two fights instead of one to make the most money out of their champions.

I guess they became more greedy, they realize that they can make more money with more fights on other dates, so that's maximizing a championship fight. Things really changed, and we cannot blame the promoters because they are into the business of making money, bad is they just want to make more which results to sacrificing the quality.

Even if Loma's excuse is true, it doesn't change the result and he will just get embarrassed because of that excuse. Instead of getting some sympathy or whatever his goal is, he should just move on and give Teo Lopez some credits because he put up a good fight. Nonetheless, this is a different fight and he won't get his revenge now because Teo has already moved to the next division. Soon enough, I know he can face Haney or Kambosos because his chances to win here is big enough to consider that he will be likely declared as a winner this coming October 29. Jamaine Ortiz is good based on the paper and I hope he can give Loma a good fight.

If he will give Loma a problem here even he loss the fight, it will be remembered by viewers and fans, a possible to have another money fight that will allow him to continue the chase for the belt. Along the way, the plan of fighting whoever the winner of Haney and Kambosos will be the next target of Loma's camp. He just needs to secure the win for this upcoming fight, then move forward.

Boxers these days are moving like they were the promoters or organizers rather than boxers, they are too attached and more interested to know the money business instead of focusing in making their own legacy to be known in the industry just like the good old days. Probably the reason why almost all known boxers in the industry had built their own promotional company after their professional years.

Probably the reason why almost all known boxers in the industry had built their own promotional company after their professional years. No more quality matches prior to the main event because the whole budget is being eaten already by the opposing boxers of the main fight. We're just lucky to witness some quality matches during the rematch of Alexander Usyk and Anthony Joshua owing to the fact that the kingdom of Saudi Arabia is extravagant with their resources. This Lomachenko come back could be put in the Haney-Kambosos tussle to make the event more interesting and exciting. The build up and face to face would be great 'coz the winners are fighting next.

I miss the days when there were also world title fights in the undercards. Legendary Manny Pacquiao for instance used to defend his title while on the undercards like during the Lewis-Tyson fight. Glorious days for boxing. Now it's all about playing safe and money.
In my opinion, they already taste the luxurious lifestyle, and they are not willing to go back. That's why even they already retired they still wanted to continue doing business. Most are building milking cow I mean discovering new breeds and they will use their name to promote the fighter and make good amount of money. On the topic, Less than a month now for this fight, Loma is expecting to come up with another good performance, a startup fight for his comeback, let see what he got for us.

I guess the boxers really wanted to know how much they are making and probably wanted to know if their promoters are really paying them for how much they worth. We all know that in the past, boxers like Floyd decided to be their own manager and challenge Bob Arum that time because he wanted more. And so he is partly to blame for boxers now becoming businessman and wanted to know the business side of boxing, instead of just focusing on the fight itself.

We can understand that boxers nowadays would like to level up on the earnings of the promoter, they seemed to think that they are the one investing money to make the right happen, I'd say it's a wrong attitude, that's being greedy, but then, I could be wrong though, just stating my personal opinion.

I think at some point they have every right to know how much they are making plus what is the manager or the promotions cut. And that is why they demand so much money now because of that. so I would say that it is the right attitude. The problem is that if they ask for too much money when obviously it can't be given by the manager/promotion. And that will stall the fight because they don't want because they think they are underpaid. And the next thing you know he doesn't want to work with that promotion already and asking to be separated like what Floyd did to Bob Arum or even Oscar or Canelo already against Golden Boy.

Obviously, they know what they are getting before they sign on the dotted contract. The problem is that as boxers became more vocal and go the public and complain about everything, the issue has balloon into boxer vs promoter. Anyhow, we haven't heard anything from both sides, they have agreed to it already and definitely Lomachenko is the A-side of it. And he is fine with Bob Arum and Top Rank and how they handle his career so far. Getting a chance to fight for the belt in his second or third fight. And as far as betting options, Loma will be a huge favorite and I believed that we will see a impressive performance against Ortiz.

In the fighter's perspectives, they deserve to earn more after making names in this industry, we all know that boxing do have lots of money that circulating around, once a fighter taste that luxury they will keep asking for more, the mindset that it was a life risking sport and in just an accident away they can lose their lives. They have good reason and because most but not all known promoters/handlers always got a big cut when closing the deals. Fighters only asking for what they know they deserve while risking their lives inside the ring. On that note, whoever is in the line just like here in Lom's upcoming fight, if he's not be satisfied with the money that he will earn, he might ask or leave his handlers and look for another promoter to deal his fights.
