I also think 5000 is a lot of money for a monk to spend in just six months. In many countries that amount is a lot of money for some people even in a year. It must be some monk who likes to do sinful things, otherwise I don't quite understand how it was possible to spend that money somewhere in a monastery. To me this thread reeks of a scam.

Mind your language, you do not guess and speak indecent language against any one. You have no knowledge about myself and my work.

Correct your post or otherwise I will delete your post and block you.

Digital Monk

When I read continuously how you announce yourself as a monk, I had to visit my dictionary again to make sure I have not forgotten the real meaning of a monk and monastery. Though I am not surprised that you said you are a digital monk, so you are digitalized. Don't also forget that we don't know you in person and many will chose to believe or disbelieve you. Meanwhile I can go create an account right now and call myself an Internet Monk, hope you will believe me and send me some bitcoin.

Again, you asked him to edit his post, then you quoted the post, it means that even if he edits it, it can no longer change. Then you threatened to delete his post. Can you do it? Yes, if it's a self moderated thread. Then you also threatened to block him, how will you achieve that? I guess with your spiritual powers, because in the forum you don't have the ability to block anyone, the worse you can do is to ignore the user.

It's really a real story?
This was my same thoughts. I do not like doubting too much since it screws my head thinking about it, but OP seemed to claim to have $5000 worth of Bitcoin. I do not know any in my social circle that have Buddhism religion, but as far as I know or as far as I am aware, monks don't touch these techy stuffs.
I wish I could confirm your thought as well there, Plaguedeath.

There is really something wrong within OP's story. He said on his first paragraph he doesn't have source of income then suddenly on the last line of his statement he said he has a charity. How could he have a charity if he just depended on someone's donation to survive for 6 months.

Also, I'm curious what country he is living that he is able to spend $5000 worth of bitcoin to pay bills and buy neccessities. Even if he converts it to fiat, that amount is large to not be noticed by authorities or bitcoin institution in their country.

The truth is actually I am living on Bitcoin for the last six month on Bitcoin. Some one donated some Bitcoin to me and as I have no income because I am a Monk, so I have spent about $5000 dollars worth of Bitcoin to buy foods and pay for the bills.

I run a Charity. I am a Monk. I need some help from the Bitcoin community.

I'm somehow not interested in knowing where you get your bitcoin from [buying it or someone donating it], but I get the gist of what you're trying to say that you've spent $5K in bitcoin all this time buying food and paying bills. Those are some of the things you can legally do with bitcoin in any country where it is legal to pay bitcoin as legal tender, but you will have to convert it to fiat if your state doesn't legalize it as legal tender.

I run a Charity. I am a Monk. I need some help from the Bitcoin community. I am thankful to all those peoples who thought me about Bitcoin for the last few days. I have story to tell, how I have come to know the Bitcoin and finally join this community ?
I don't think you are here to ask for help like charity from the bitcoin community just because you have no income as a monk, this is not a very helpful idea for you to earn money because you are not the only person without income who roam the forum. You can ask the community to help you understand bitcoin instead of asking them to give charity to whatever your current job is.

Shouldn't Monks not hang out with the internet or social media, how can you do that especially with Bitcoin, I doubt it, just in case you bring the name of a monk in asking for charity funds, are you a modern monk.

I also do not believe this story, there are too many doubts. How can someone give him bitcoins if he doesn't know bitcoins before? I wonder if OP knew about bitcoins before he was given or after he was given bitcoins and what country he is from, is bitcoin legal there?
For $ 5000, I can also use it for more than 1 year if you only use it for eating and living normally. that's big money.

It seems odd to me that you mention people giving bitcoins to you, then you've spent $5000 bitcoins to buy food and pay bills, and it's also not clear that the gifts are personal to you, or to the community you run. Giving bitcoins whether in the form of money or sent through your wallet.

I am glad to know the benefits of Bitcoin, I wish, I could have join this forum much earlier.
But in terms of learning, I think you are very right in this forum, because there are so many people who are perfect in giving views on bitcoin.
Welcome and join the "BIKSU" forum

I have story to tell, how I have come to know the Bitcoin and finally join this community ?
My question is that the philanthropist gave bitcoins to you, more precisely when?
"The title of your post is why I bought bitcoin", but the discussion is more about donations?

If true, this is rather unique and looking forward to more stories.  However, there are some things that seem a bit off but maybe some things got lost in translation?  Since this isn't costing me anything, will give the benefit of the doubt for now as time will tell.  But the minute a donation is solicited, a significant portion of the community will consider you a scammer.

Op I see that you mentioned about buying Bitcoins in the title, but in reality you got it through donations.
And you also only showed interest in the coin, as it helped to buy you food and shelter? This is nothing but just the necessity that pulled you towards the Bitcoins.
Why don’t you thought of earlier joining this community when you had 200$ worth of Bitcoins? You only came up here after seeing how valueable Bitcoins can be (200$ turned into 5000$).
I know I might sound rude, but that’s what i can see from your post OP.
Nevertheless let’s forget the past, and I am sure you will definitely contribute here in the forum and also to the Bitcoins.

That guy is certainly generous if this is a true story of yours. Don't mind it if most of us would say "if this is true" because there have been impostors before that have told stories of theirs that really were touching but it tend out that they have a hidden agenda with those stories.
So, you can't blame if somebody thinks that your story is half truth. But anyway, good luck with your journey as I think where this is going but hopefully that I'm wrong with that assumption.

I am Monk, I have dedicated my life to do charity work. I doing the charity work for 30 years. When I heard about Bitcoin I created a BTC Address and  posted it in my twitter account. Some donated, about $200 dollars worth of Bitcoin. When the price went high, I had to sold my charity Bitcoin to a friend who is a Bitcoin investor.

I got $5000 dollars. It helped me greatly over the last 6 months. Bitcoin is brilliant. It works. I am learning about how to manage Bitcoin transaction. I will publish my life experience what Bitcoin has done for me ?  It is an amazing story. I am sure many people will like to read my story and soon they will understand the truth about "Bitcoin and Me".

Bitcoin is the catalyst, a liberator. Satoshi Nakamoto is a time traveller. I myself is just a Monk, Digital Monk. I like decentralisation. The monetary system should be decentralised. Bank should not mess around with people's money and lend it to generate huge amounts of usury. I have got over $4000 dollars bank debts with Amex. They are collecting high interest from me. I had to use my credit card to borrow money to keep running my charity work

Six months ago I ran out of funds. I have no income. So I have used the charity Bitcoin to buy foods only. I live a simple life, one bread and one bottle of water. I tried to raise money by taking a further loan of $20000 dollars from my banks but the banks have refused to lend me money because of, I am a Monk. I cannot go back to labour market to earn wages by working for some corporation as a slave labour.

I cannot work and earn money as a worker. It does not mean that I am a lazy person. I do charity work 18 hours daily. This is my life. I do not like to earn money and pay 30 percentage income tax. I was not born to pay tax any tax collector. Collecting taxes from citizen is illegal.
I empathize with you in your situation of things and to what you believe in, and you're very much welcome to the forum,
But I stand to correct the notion that "collecting taxes from citizens is illegal", such notion is wrong in the sense that should citizens and corporations desist from paying taxes to the authority  such society will diminish in the following ways:
1: such society will diminish in social infrastructure, welfare and basic amenities.
2: A society where citizens refuse to pay tax, such citizens will have no right to hold it's government accountable and dutiful.
3: Such society will continue to be lagging behind in the global community as their government can't have the resources needed to compete with their counterparts globally.
4:It is an obligation more of a duty a citizen owe to her country  to pay tax in as much as they're working

Like how on earth can the government of a country be runned in terms of providing security both internal and external, and many more to her citizens if taxes ain't paid as due according to law?

OP's story is indeed quite strange, How a monk who usually stays away from worldly life can have a Bitcoin wallet, Op should have an understanding of the development of the digital world. Maybe the OP falls into the modern Monk category.
Sometimes in life things happen that are out of the ordinary, and someone who does things differently is a special person.

$5000 dollars worth Bitcoin is lots, you can feed 5000 people a nice mean in a developing country. Where I live, here a bottle of water is $1.5 dollars to $2.50 dollars. 4 apples cost $3 dollars, cup of tea cost $4 dollars, 800 grams Bread cost $3.60 dollars. One month Internet and phone call bill is $40 dollars.

Charity work is my passion. I like helping people to become financially independ. I gave 1500 to 3 poor men each 500 dollars to start trading vegetables and fruits.

Before I became Monk, I was a stock maker trader and banker. I had good peaceful nice life.  I was helping many people to start new businesses and make money.

I was supporting charity work. I was doing a lots of research work new kinds of banking. Then a cyclone came in my life I was over drown by a tsunami. I knew how to swim and come out of deep water, there were big sharks and whales and dolphin. Then an angel came and picked me up and helped me. Later I was conducting ancient Egyptian governance research. Which led me to learn about esoteric principles.

Then One day suddenly found myself in a dream flying like an Eagle. One the next week, I flown 8000 kilometres through the sky it was fun for me. Then living in the most prosperous imperial city of the world. Later a situation pushed me to become Monk, DigitalMonk.

I am not here in this forum to ask for donation, I asked for help to know how to import Blockchain.Com address to Bitcoin Core. Some people thought I am asking for donation. Some one said, I could be an scammer.

I am not here to any nonsense. I am here to learn. If some can teach me, I am willing to learn and turn the clock back.

So, some people will learn from my example.

Perhaps, a story can easily be made without doing this in actuality. Because I don't think that Monks or let's say monks today are already engaged in social media which leads this person to know about Bitcoin or crypto. I guess everyone is leaving this in doubt and OP, you'd rather be true to us, to the crypto community.
I know everyone has their story to tell but in your position OP and you are talking about crypto, that seems unbelievable isn't it?

When I hear the word "Monk" .... I immediately think of a wise old man on top of a high hill... far away from all the influences of modern technology.  Cheesy  It is refreshing to see that even Monks are adapting to society and modern world now.  Wink

Just a warning... DO NOT use this forum to ask for donations... because it is against the rules. You can post some pictures of your charity work to add some credibility to your post. (remember... anyone can come to a forum like this and post anything.... there are a lot of scammers out there)

If you post something believable .... people might reach out to you.... like that person that gave you the $5000.  Wink

I kinda had the same feeling when I read that OP is a monk but then the his last post above makes me think he is a fraud.
Can you imaging a monk telling words like "I cannot go back to labour market to earn wages by working for some corporation as a slave labour. " or "I was not born to pay tax any tax collector."
These are the words from OP himself and I do not think that a genuine monk would say these things.
He is also threatening others in his posts. I am certainly sure he is not a genuine monk.

Your story is very interesting. But I wonder when someone donates $200 worth of bitcoin and when you sell it, you can get $5000. Because when we look at the history of the market, if you get a $200 donation, that means the bitcoin price is still very low, around $1,200 and around 0.23 btc and for bitcoin price at $1,200, it was around 2017. (correct me if I'm wrong).

And if you sell it at the highest bitcoin price, say at $61k, that means from that 0.23btc, you will get $14232. And I'm also curious at what price you sell bitcoin so you can get $5000.

But whatever it is, investing in bitcoin can provide great benefits in the future and many people have proven it. Now all you need to do is keep learning how to invest in bitcoin properly and when you can buy bitcoins again.

It is a big question for myself as well as for the Chancellor, why I have bought Bitcoin ?  The truth is actually I am living on Bitcoin for the last six month on Bitcoin. Some one donated some Bitcoin to me and as I have no income because I am a Monk, so I have spent about $5000 dollars worth of Bitcoin to buy foods and pay for the bills.

This is a real story in my life. Now I have learn about how the Bitcoin can be useful for daily living. I am really thanking to the unknown man who donated a tiny amount of Bitcoin that really helped me over the last 6 months. I have now decided to become a member of this forum and contribute my experience to encourage others to invest in Bitcoin.

I am glad to know the benefits of Bitcoin, I wish, I could have join this forum much earlier.

I run a Charity. I am a Monk. I need some help from the Bitcoin community. I am thankful to all those peoples who thought me about Bitcoin for the last few days.
I have story to tell, how I have come to know the Bitcoin and finally join this community ?

It is a good news to me and the entire community that you were about to learn how Bitcoin works from people that cares about you and spending the donation that was given to you in Bitcoin which is very much impressive. You also need to understand how this community works so you could learn more about the entire Bitcoin networks.

I always feel good when I see people talking about how Bitcoin had help them in making transactions and buying goods and paying for services. If you intend to ask for donations here to support your charity organization, then I think you have to bring proofs of what you have achieved and how you are running you charity organization.  You also have to create a thread like this one and write to things about your charity organization so people can support you.

I'm glad and happy a Monk is using bitcoin and he's quite positive and have the mind to spread about bitcoin. Nowadays more charities have started to accept donations in the form of cryptocurrencies. This doesn't mean they accept bitcoin alone, altcoins were also accepted. Already with the help of forum members there were more charity programs being run by individual members who have dedicated themselves for the social service.

It is actually rare to hear that a monk has utilized bitcoin as a means of living.

Just a curious question, since you vowed your life to serve and live as a monk, do you not get any savings from the establishment that you are working on? In addition, how did the person donate 1 BTC to you? Did he provided a wallet with 1 BTC inside or do you have a local exchange where a wallet is present? How were you also able to convert your BTC to cash?

Given that exchanges are strict with withdrawals, I am very curious as how you managed to live using BTC in the past few months.

I am not here to any nonsense. I am here to learn. If some can teach me, I am willing to learn and turn the clock back.

So, some people will learn from my example.

If your real intention is to really learn, You should create post on Beginners and Help or Bitcoin Technical Discussion rather posting here on Bitcoin Discussion board. Your main post is about your story and you want to promote your foundation using your monk background which will obviously makes wonder other people if you are legit or not. It’s not ordinary to see a monk that has a time for Bitcoin and foundation because the typical monk that we are those who are in the temple most of the time.

I hope community doesn’t offend you but you should go to the right board if you want to learn Bitcoin technicality.
