Scammers are very smart on how to get peoples attentions and they are also smart in inventing new strategies that can be so real to easily convince people . My worries is about beginners who are coming up, and if you make research most beginners in crytocurrency and on social media were once a victim to scammers and till date some beginners still fall for scammers.

To me,  the social media would have been the easiest way to fight against scam, to make beginners get aware "the strangers  you meet is at own risk ". This can always be in the mind when one encounter a stranger who want to offer free money or do business, one will have to think how real can it be.

Beginners don't get awareness of scam on social media,  some mostly get aware of scam with personal experience.

To me,  the social media would have been the easiest way to fight against scam, to make beginners get aware "the strangers  you meet is at own risk ".
Even kids are told not to take things from strangers or trust blindly, but greed would lead beginners' to fall for scams in expectation of a high loot or reward. Many of the common scams are even done to make the victim feel they are about to scam the stranger. Like this [1] reported here

The internet contains lots of information about scams, more people should pay attention to it.

They just want to take any chance of getting free money, similar like how they're participating a giveaway or airdrop, so they think they have nothing to lose. I'd say social media is the place who have higher chance to get scammed, even the account have a blue check to prove it's an official/real account, it can be hacked and promoting scam. Anyone will believe since it's a legit account.

I think it's okay to get scammed for the first time since most people learn from their experiences, but it's just sad to see a same person get scammed for multiple times.

Beginners don't get awareness of scam on social media,  some mostly get aware of scam with personal experience.

People do actually get a lot of awareness on social media(though mostly depends who they're following). It's just the simple (and unfortunate) fact that most of them don't read.

Social media will only harbor scammers and many people on the social media will be victims if scammers. To avoid scam, forum like bitcointalk can be helpful, but many people see forums to be boring.

Many people are scammed because of inexperience, that is true, but that shows how people have greedy nature. But some scam is as a result of fake online intimacy.

Like the popular wise saying, experience is the best teacher. Most of us learn to be very careful after our first terrible experience. To me, being on social media means you are not longer a kid and you don't need to be told about scammers. Although creating awareness can reduce scam as you proclaim but self caution is the best. And besides not all strangers mean harm. I'm sure in one way or another, we all have met new people online and transacting without fear.

Most of the people who are trapped are those greedy people, they think they can withdraw free big money on the site but in the end, it asks for a withdrawal fee, and then if you deposit any amount it is automatically sent to another wallet.

Obviously, the scheme was made for scamming purposes only, and newbies without asking the community can easily scam by this scheme.
I'm also one of the people who was being scammed before that is why I search for places where I can ask how to retrieve them that is why I found this forum but their answer told me all Bitcoin transactions are reversible and no one can able to retrieve Bitcoin from a scam website. That's why I learn and always be careful with any deal that I made with anyone who trades with me that involves Bitcoin. I learn a lot here on the forum and I hope this forum can be easily found on google search because I have different search results on my son's laptop but this forum won't show up, unlike on my PC.

To many awareness already spreading on social media  and it consist of many experiences from past scams happened and it is also covered up by main stream media's but this scams never stops. People need to take out the greed for money and earning it without taking any hard steps because from this scams repeatedly happen if they take the offer to get rich quickly.

Even kids are told not to take things from strangers or trust blindly, but greed would lead beginners' to fall for scams in expectation of a high loot or reward.

Unfortunately, no one tells children (at least not enough) that the Internet is dangerous in its own way, just like real life, so if in real life they should not get into a stranger's car or take any food or drink from an unknown person, then they should show such distrust and in their online activities. Social networks are quite powerless to fight against scams, which is why they have become a paradise for scammers, and Telegram or Twitter are available today to anyone with a smartphone and internet access.

Scammers are very smart on how to get peoples attentions and they are also smart in inventing new strategies that can be so real to easily convince people .

That's true, I was recently surprised by a scam in which the scammer sends a seed to the victim, instead of somehow trying to extort it. That's why we should always try to be one step ahead of scammers and think critically in every situation, no matter how convincing something seems at a given moment. Each of us can help to make as many people aware as possible by warning a friend or relative, regardless of whether he is involved in buying/trading cryptocurrencies.

Most of the people who are trapped are those greedy people, they think they can withdraw free big money on the site but in the end, it asks for a withdrawal fee, and then if you deposit any amount it is automatically sent to another wallet.
The greed is the most important part in these scam attempts where people beleive they are among some lucky people who have the chance of getting free rewards in form of tokens and completely forget nothing comes free in this world especially crypto internet world. The scammers on social media make fake profiles or hack account of renowned person like Elon musk and ask people to deposit coins to get them double in few seconds and people blindly follow them and send coins to those addresses and loose the money.

So they need to realise that what they see over net is not true and proper investigation needs to be done but we still see lot of unawareness or say they have some greed factor inside their mind which made them loose money.

How to retrieve them that is why I found this forum but their answer told me all Bitcoin transactions are irreversible and no one can able to retrieve Bitcoin from a scam website.
Edit your post with the bolded part as you have mistakenly written transactions are reversible which is not true.

Social networks are quite powerless to fight against scams, which is why they have become a paradise for scammers, and Telegram or Twitter are available today to anyone with a smartphone and internet access.
They have access to all these social media platforms and unfortunately they are places where you would find lot of scammers especially in Telegram groups trying to find out Victims with lot of new tricks but they need to have their privacy settings that nobody can add them into these groups. You just need to click on the phising links and then your wallets are drained or malwares are installed in your system.

Scammers are very smart on how to get peoples attentions and they are also smart in inventing new strategies that can be so real to easily convince people .
They have developed so many ways to exploit the vulnerabilities of some centralised platforms or to hack your wallets and we hear so many new ways like hacking live YouTube channel and pooping up a fake link to get claims and then your wallet is drained completely so just be aware of these things and never trust what you see over net.

Falling prey to scammers is not a voluntary action. It just so happens when one ignores certain fingertip security protocols.
The experience one gets from having been scammed is often to show one how to better secure their privacy and keys. The awareness of how scammers operate is everywhere even on news channels, but these scammers also follow up the awareness campaign created to modify their scam techniques. It is always better to at an initial stage, ensure your privacy when using or login into new devices, new sites, new applications. Also, not saving passwords or keys on browser might be helpful as well as taking advantage of an authenticator app.

Perfectly said. Its someone fault when he did scammed by such trick or modus on social media. We all knew how scary those scammers who are using a lot of social media processes down to more tight up technical malwares.

People dont get scammed easily. Its either you let your guard down or literally tried the giveaway or some sort of of freebies and eventually falling into trap. Like OP said, some would definitely do it until they got scammed on actual personal experience first.

It won't reduce the chance of getting scammed, people don't learn from others bad decision, they always feel different thinking same thing can't happen to them so they take their chances too especially when it comes to money.

scammers do initiate new methods according op, and people that always being trapped by their traps is the people who are serious to give them a listen hear.

Because your attention is given to a scammer you have create way for a scammer to come inside you, so if you want to keep them far from is to ignore their chat if they pm you or inbox you.

My worries is about beginners who are coming up, and if you make research most beginners in crytocurrency and on social media were once a victim to scammers and till date some beginners still fall for scammers.
any one who have experienced scammers always like to protect itself not to be victim. The thing that push our new people to the hand of scammers is greediness and bonus in investment, but the up coming beginner's who read all this our discussions can not allow someone to scam he/her again because the information has being passed, right now they are informed of scammers.

To me,  the social media would have been the easiest way to fight against scam, to make beginners get aware "the strangers  you meet is at own risk ".
a social media should be the simplest place to fight against scammers, but it's same place that people is easily trapped for scamming.

What we are suppose to do is advice our people and our relatives that is working online to be careful on the online investment because scammers that is in social media is much. And especially in the telegram.

It won't reduce the chance of getting scammed, people don't learn from others bad decision, they always feel different thinking same thing can't happen to them so they take their chances too especially when it comes to money.

It depends — some people do; at least the minority who's interested enough to actually read about security. Bringing public attention isn't totally worthless and is definitely very important, it's just not as effective as most people would hope.

Fortunately, I didn't scam a significant amount ever, it might be because I'm fully oriented here in the forum and in social media as well, that's a part of being crypto enthusiast, be vigilant always and never trust any strangers who offer something free or give free money.  There's no quick free money on the internet and no one wants to be generous and provide a few dollars to those people who they didn't know.

Greed, yes that's right!
The mean reason why people will fall into the scammer's hands is because of greed and also possible there's no idea about crypto, as they heard, they will gain profit.  Social media could help newbies not to scam but this is upon the individual crypto enthusiast, if they will not have DYOR possible, this scam will happen to them.

This seems like a generic situation and not just crypto-related so I would just put my input even if it is not a crypto-related stuff.
I was traumatized back in May this year when I just attempted to buy my long dreamed GPU through Facebook and the scammer I talked to was vouched by plenty of people so it would seem legitimate. I took the bite and got scammed for amount of $200+.

Social media sites has been plagued by these scums already and they would not hesitate to adapt to how much you try to bust their scams and of course support of these social media site would do little to no help because their users are the customers in the end anyway. My trust for the Facebook groups/marketplace has been damaged beyond repair, so if I would have to involve money if it is crypto-related or not, I would stay away from social media.

Beginners don't get awareness of scam on social media,  some mostly get aware of scam with personal experience.

People do actually get a lot of awareness on social media(though mostly depends who they're following). It's just the simple (and unfortunate) fact that most of them don't read.
It's  not very common. Social media's only do the best to secure  users account,  when an account is linked with an email and scammers tries to hacked the password, the user of the account receives a message immediately about what is about happening to the account.

I don't mean social media platforms warning their users about their social media accounts. I meant people in social media groups posting warnings(or news) concerning hackers and scammers; which happens quite a lot especially when we get news from the top crypto-related news sites like Cointelegraph/CoinDesk/The Block.

In my opinion, in the case of scammers and hackers it is different. Scammers perform tricks to trick users into buying something from them or following directions to spend money without having to hack an account. While hackers really aim to hack and then steal money (if the account has a balance)

So, regarding the warning mentioned by mk4, it is a warning for social media users to pay attention when they are talking each other about investment, buying goods or anything related. If that person reads an article/news about a scam, and follow the tips to avoid scam, then that user will be safe from the scam.
