I didn't know they still did this. Do they still do this in the United States or was that practice ended when the massive scam came to light? For anyone who isn't aware of the McDonalds employee that finessed the system and used the program to steal millions, it's a great story. I believe there is even a Netflix documentary about it that's worth the watch (I think I saw it on Netflix). I'm a bit surprised they still do this, but maybe their international standards are a bit more strict.
Yeh, it's still a thing here in Australia. I've heard of the documentary, but haven't seen it. The codes look to be printed on separately from the rest of the coupon - am uncertain what printing process is used (but I have a vague idea the scam was done at the printers, not on the shop floor)
