Wink Those who work remotely are usually people who are selected and have a high work track record and are able to adapt to current technological developments and are used to it. When Covid-19 struck us forced to follow the long-distance work system because of obstacles and finally many people could adjust. But it is true that working long distances must understand the internet and technology as a work tool because if not it is impossible. The generation who lacks understanding of technology will actually have difficulty in carrying out their duties and this is proven when the Covid-19 occurs where many lay people are difficult to work long distance.

In fact, working in the office or at home both have different levels of freedom, for example your freedom when you work in your own home without a boss beside you or away from the supervision of your own boss. Someone who has a job of course they have to be responsible for the work they have, because it is clear that they work there so they should be responsible for their work, if they are not responsible it is better from the start not to work. And also when they don't have a job it should be as a man must have a job because basically many things must be his responsibility. As a man, it is certain that they have responsibilities not married or already they still have their responsibilities This cannot be hidden even not only men, women also have responsibility for their work, because there are also women who focus on their careers so they must be fully responsible for their work or career.

Many people waste their working time because they are bored with their jobs and maybe they are looking for other things that can make them happy even though it is risky, maybe there are people who are bored with their jobs and look for other things as an outlet, but there are also people who run other things that have an impact on their main job or ignore their jobs, well here they have lost responsibility even though it is relatively small. My advice is that if they are bored with their main job, it is better to ask for a day off to find new things or take a little vacation outside of work, and return after the day off is over. Maybe this is more effective than looking for new things during working hours that make the main work disturbed, after all only a fool who ignores the work he has, there is no way we want to lose what we already have, and if you already have a job it's better to keep it better can be promoted. So if people have a good mindset, in my opinion they will take responsibility for everything that should be their responsibility, because they have a good mindset so there is no way they will take off their responsibilities that have become their own obligations.

Working from home was the best thing that came out of covid. Honestly wfh is more of a luxury nowadays I feel like.
I agree, it's more of a privilege these days because there are companies that have allowed their employees to work remote due to the pandemic.
But then, they realize that it's still best to go in an office setup for them to have network and see their employees face to face. Those that are used to WFH setup, won't go back to the former setup and that's why if you're in a company that allows WFH, that's a privilege and luxury.
In everything, of course, there will always be advantages and disadvantages, including working remotely or WFH. Certainly with WFH we can make preparations more relaxed than having to go to the office, for example if we have to leave 1 hour earlier than the time of entry to work with WFH we don't have to. However, I do find WFH a little boring, because if we are used to communication or meeting people, with WFH we can't do that. If I can choose which one I want to do more, then I want to keep going to the office, but on the other hand the time to go to work is a problem for me, because I have to fight great laziness. Lol

As someone who has been working from home for the last two and a half years, I think I have a more productive work performance due to this. In particular, I don't need to wake up earlier every morning for go to the office and sleeping more by saving on the preparation process and similar processes allows me to start the day more energetically. Additionally, as a smoker I don't have any problems due to nicotine deficiency since I smoke during working hours. On the other hand, being more comfortable in terms of clothing at home and being able to handle some household chores when the work volume is low is definitely a huge advantage for me. So, while all these advantages actually make me feel more comfortable as an individual, how do they increase my work performance? Actually the answer is quite simple;

The comfort of not being in the office environment during working hours, the peace and happiness of working from home, the comfort of working from home and various other reasons help me focus on my work more efficiently and this way I show the best performance I can. In summary, I think that working from home is a working style that helps increase the productivity of many staff as it has various positive effects on the individual. Of course, the advantages of working from home are not misused by malicious people.

The last line in your second paragraph is quite confusing. Could it be elaborated more, regarding the impact malicious people can have on the advantages of working from home? And how malicious people who work for a specific company from home, can affect the rules of their company. While you've got a nice regulation of your working hours at home, there should be a possibility of fewer distractions in your vicinity. Kids are my biggest challenge, whenever I work from home. Unless they are sleeping, I wouldn't have enough time to focus. Late hours are my best time, but I'd cherish to sleep better. The advantages you've mentioned are true, especially the house chores and the extended sleeping hours. Yet it depends on the volume of the work on our desk. Sometimes it gets too hectic that, those working in the office will have enough time than staff working from home. Especially during double-tasking. It usually feels like working from home changes the hand of the clock for such staff, but time still flies and they get caught up with lots of activities including the house chores.

Then inter-switching favorable habits won't help some staff, wonder how you're able to enjoy your habit alongside the tasks awaiting you every day to deliver to the office. I've noticed that staff who engage in recurring habits that require taking more sticks than one, end up falling asleep and running out of time. Thereby postponing the delivery hours on their schedule list or to-do list. Being able to control the urge to engage in such habits while in an environment where the person is allowed to practice it, is quite a higher level of self-control. Don't know if you understand what I mean, but it'd be great if you shared more, if you don't mind, about how your intake of sticks every day contribute in staying efficient while working from home. To many it'll be one big disadvantage, surprised you also turned it into an advantage.

Malicious actors can exploit these blurred lines. They may use a remote worker's flexible schedule to overwork them because they're always available.This undermines work-life balance and creates unreasonable goals. We must defend defined boundaries and not confuse flexibility with availability. How about using technology to manage time? Setting office hours at home or using time-tracking apps might change everything.

I get the point of both of you. One is concerned with productivity due to the personal life and focus of the employees on their work, and one is concerned with having more time with yourself and your family when working from home which is manageable as long as you know how to manage all your tasks throughout the day. Both are correct and have enough reason, it's indeed difficult yet doable by having self-discipline and by improving individual time management skills .

Yet, it still depends on the person. As also someone working in a company, I saw and heard from other people that they can be more productive when they are at the office than when working from home. Some cannot focus on work if they are at home as they can be more productive if they are in the office with their co-workers. Which is unlike some other people who can do the complete opposite of this.

Distractions is one big challenge to remote workers, and one of the most relatable ones is that of our phones. It’s common that you see a notification on your phone and you want to check it out, just to notice 10 minutes later that you’re now watching Instagram reels or TikTok. I suggest that when it’s time to work, just because it’s remote doesn’t mean that you should not treat it like it’s office work. Put your phone in a silent mode and keep the tone of your workspace to be like it would be in an office. Don’t feel too relaxed just because you’re at home.
It isn't a challenge to the employer but a challenge to the workers. The one that is affected the most is the remote workers because there is no supervisors, manager, or boss that is around to monitor them. Yes, phones are common because of their portability. This is why I just switch them off and place them away from my reach.

I think there is nothing wrong in relaxing. and I bet, we can relax too when working non-remotely. But like they said, everything that is over are not good anymore. This is the only thing that we should watch out for when we are working remotely. For this, I don't lay down when I'm working online because it makes me sleepy.
It could be a challenge to the workers but that’s if they don’t know how to be committed to work. Your boss doesn’t have to be around you for you to focus or get your work done. Like I said, when one wants to work remotely, you have to respect your working hours because you’re paid for it, additionally, you should be committed to it whether it’s paid or free service. For those who can’t do the proper thing on their own, there are some company that won’t supervise you, but will fire you if they don’t see the due result.

The last line in your second paragraph is quite confusing. Could it be elaborated more, regarding the impact malicious people can have on the advantages of working from home? And how malicious people who work for a specific company from home, can affect the rules of their company. While you've got a nice regulation of your working hours at home, there should be a possibility of fewer distractions in your vicinity. Kids are my biggest challenge, whenever I work from home. Unless they are sleeping, I wouldn't have enough time to focus. Late hours are my best time, but I'd cherish to sleep better. The advantages you've mentioned are true, especially the house chores and the extended sleeping hours. Yet it depends on the volume of the work on our desk. Sometimes it gets too hectic that, those working in the office will have enough time than staff working from home. Especially during double-tasking. It usually feels like working from home changes the hand of the clock for such staff, but time still flies and they get caught up with lots of activities including the house chores.

Then inter-switching favorable habits won't help some staff, wonder how you're able to enjoy your habit alongside the tasks awaiting you every day to deliver to the office. I've noticed that staff who engage in recurring habits that require taking more sticks than one, end up falling asleep and running out of time. Thereby postponing the delivery hours on their schedule list or to-do list. Being able to control the urge to engage in such habits while in an environment where the person is allowed to practice it, is quite a higher level of self-control. Don't know if you understand what I mean, but it'd be great if you shared more, if you don't mind, about how your intake of sticks every day contribute in staying efficient while working from home. To many it'll be one big disadvantage, surprised you also turned it into an advantage.
I understand your problem with work-from-home distractions, especially with kids. A common challenge, right? Working from home is flexible yet blurs personal and business life. Malicious actors can exploit these blurred lines. They may use a remote worker's flexible schedule to overwork them because they're always available.This undermines work-life balance and creates unreasonable goals. We must defend defined boundaries and not confuse flexibility with availability. How about using technology to manage time? Setting office hours at home or using time-tracking apps might change everything.

I understand your concern about productivity despite constant distractions. It's difficult yet doable. Self-discipline and a good work environment are crucial. Can we design a temptation-free workspace? We must learn to equate that area with productivity. Moderation and careful decision-making are key to the stick habit. Though enticing, what if we used these pauses as incentives after completing tasks? This turns distractions into motivation. Finding the balance between discipline and indulgence that boosts productivity is key

Working around an environment with such distractions as kids and roommates doesn't have any solution to setting office hours with phones or laptops. The possible solution could be discipline as you said. Sometimes I'll put on headsets to notify people around that I'm not in for discussions or to avoid noises from kids. But, nothing is more effective like leaving the home to a nearby library or coffee shop. Where quietness and focus can be attained. Think of the fun we can get from kids, as similar to or above the distractions they can offer us at home. They can easily take away the headset or cry till we attend to them. Sometimes moving away from the house to a work conducive space is better. The second paragraph of your response is inspiring. The bigger distraction is our habits. Inbuilt behaviors control us from the inside. But when one applies the use of the habit as an incentive after completing our task has a huge advantage on the worker. It'll facilitate his energy during work so that they'll go and take sticks or do what pleases them.

I'm sure everyone must have experienced the disadvantage of such self control method. Humans who are deeply rooted in the habit can offer quantity over quality or inferior outputs to quickly end the tasks given to them and rush into the habit. Things like that can escape completely in an environment we are not allowed to practice it, like a shared office space. Otherwise, one day we can be carried away by the joy of the habit and perform below average. Thereby risking productivity in the long run, if the person now normalizes delivering low-quality results. And remember the boss may not complain, they'll think the low quality is fine with the company, hence it keeps getting worse day by day until their boss can't take it anymore. Some of these habits like smoking, sex, and tv shows can consume lots of time. Leaving the worker with little time to battle with the loads of tasks sitting on his table watching him enjoy his habit. I'm not generalizing this, but we can't determine when we'll be victim of such things, while trying to enjoy our habits at home where we work.

Working from home was the best thing that came out of covid. Honestly wfh is more of a luxury nowadays I feel like.
I agree, it's more of a privilege these days because there are companies that have allowed their employees to work remote due to the pandemic.
But then, they realize that it's still best to go in an office setup for them to have network and see their employees face to face. Those that are used to WFH setup, won't go back to the former setup and that's why if you're in a company that allows WFH, that's a privilege and luxury.
In everything, of course, there will always be advantages and disadvantages, including working remotely or WFH. Certainly with WFH we can make preparations more relaxed than having to go to the office, for example if we have to leave 1 hour earlier than the time of entry to work with WFH we don't have to. However, I do find WFH a little boring, because if we are used to communication or meeting people, with WFH we can't do that. If I can choose which one I want to do more, then I want to keep going to the office, but on the other hand the time to go to work is a problem for me, because I have to fight great laziness. Lol
There are people that are definitely at their best moment with WFH and don't want to get out of that setup. And there are also those folks that like to socialize with their co workers personally. So, as a worker, find what you are comfortable with and what's going to make you more productive.
But to me, I find more productive if the WFH is going to be permanent for most companies for the positions that are doable.

I'll be starting to work from home on the first week of 2024  and I'm starting to hate it. While I'm typically not a sociable person, I still find it easier to work in an environment where I see a couple of dudes chatting or doing their work. I opted to work 4 days at home and 1 day at the office just to keep my sanity. Working from home might be comfortable, but it sure does remove productivity when you're someone who's easily distracted by anything. Also, time tends to run a lot slower when you're at home so you'll have to really lock in to your work and exert more effort to be focused on your tasks at hand.

So far, I think the pros outweighs the cons of being at home to work for the common worker, but humans are social beings, and physical interactions are way better than having to chat or video call someone. It will get old pretty fast, and you have to work extra hard to keep your pace steady.

I have talked about time management before, but now I want to talk about something else. I think its quite important to not give up on your regular life tasks just because you have to work. Recently, I had some problems in my life, so all my time has been either handling the problems in my life or working, I have done absolutely nothing else, I have about 5 hours on Saturdays, and about almost all day on sundays that are left for me, but aside from that I don't think I have more than 1 hour per day left for myself per day during the week days. This is easy way to say "well I do not have to make my bed, I need to go work right away", or its easy to say "I will just order food from outside, I don't have time to cook" and all that, its quite easy to just avoid everything else. Don't. You need to end up doing those things, would not take more than 2 minutes to make your bed, won't take more than 5 minutes to make your own coffee instead of ordering, won't take more than 15 minutes to cook something simple, they are all things that will give you incredible freedom, I literally do the dishes as a meditation now, I love chores around the house, it gives you incredible fresh mind.

Anyway, with WFH setup, we still need to fight our own battles with it whether we like it or not.

Anyone who said that working from home has been nothing but a menace to their productivity is massive buffoon for not optimizing their workspace. Picture this, in the normal work-setting you're not supervised 24/7 by your superiors, and yet you're doing your work unattended. With wfh and tools that literally give your company screenshots of your current screen at regular intervals, you say you can't work well? I say you have to optimize your workspace to be made for working. Setting aside a room for office, and actually making it look like an office so you're not tempted to take naps and sleep while you're supposed to be working. Wearing attire that would ready you for that unexpected meeting with the executives or whatever, and energizing yourself for the day with healthy meals instead of taking another takeout chinese food are just a few things you could integrate into your lifestyle to make that change.

If someone is responsible for their work, they will certainly complete their tasks well even if their boss is not near them because they are not doing work that is their responsibility to get recognition from other people because they are responsible for the work given by their boss.
I agree with you, being far from where we work, we have to be very disciplined in terms of time, because it takes time to get to where we work, so we have to be early to move to the place to work so that we don't get late to get to the place of work. If we cannot discipline ourselves during this time, our boss will certainly look for someone else to take our place at work.

Now in terms of work, there is no job that suits us, so we have to get used to it. I am also one of those people who change jobs with the aim of getting a job that makes me comfortable, and to be honest I didn't find the job I was looking for. In everything, of course, there will always be advantages and disadvantages, including working remotely or WFH. Certainly with WFH we can make preparations more relaxed than having to go to the office, for example if we have to leave 1 hour earlier than the time of entry to work with WFH we don't have to. However, I do find WFH a little boring, because if we are used to communication or meeting people, with WFH we can't do that. If I can choose which one I want to do more, then I want to keep going to the office, but on the other hand the time to go to work is a problem for me, because I have to fight great laziness. Lol
There are people that are definitely at their best moment with WFH and don't want to get out of that setup. And there are also those folks that like to socialize with their co workers personally. So, as a worker, find what you are comfortable with and what's going to make you more productive.
But to me, I find more productive if the WFH is going to be permanent for most companies for the positions that are doable.
Now in terms of work, there is no job that suits us, so we have to get used to it. I am also one of those people who change jobs with the aim of getting a job that makes me comfortable, and to be honest I didn't find the job I was looking for. From there I realized that it must come from ourselves, any work if we can make the atmosphere comfortable it will create the comfort we are looking for.

I agree with you, just like on my experience, I always said to myself that I really want to work with minimal supervision but when the pandemic hits and the company issued an Assets that we will use in working from home, turns out I'm not productive, not like when I'm working at the office, but days and months passed by and now I'm used to it. I can easily hit the target work as early as I can because of my flexible time but just like the other, I created myself a boundary between work and life balance which I know is very important to have. It's just that, everyone needs to have a self adjustment because everything can be learn so easily.

It could be a challenge to the workers but that’s if they don’t know how to be committed to work. Your boss doesn’t have to be around you for you to focus or get your work done. Like I said, when one wants to work remotely, you have to respect your working hours because you’re paid for it, additionally, you should be committed to it whether it’s paid or free service. For those who can’t do the proper thing on their own, there are some company that won’t supervise you, but will fire you if they don’t see the due result.
If someone is responsible for their work, they will certainly complete their tasks well even if their boss is not near them because they are not doing work that is their responsibility to get recognition from other people because they are responsible for the work given by their boss.
I agree with you, being far from where we work, we have to be very disciplined in terms of time, because it takes time to get to where we work, so we have to be early to move to the place to work so that we don't get late to get to the place of work. Not liking your job and still doing it? Why is that, because I'm confused, I'll stick to any job that foots my bills, and trust me when I say, I'll give in everything for the best results, it's encouraging to watch someone you know have grown to become successful in the system, that's all the motivation you need to remain balance. Who are we to rejects or turn down valuable jobs? As long as it's longterm and foots our bills, we just mellow and accept it and still be persuading for our dream jobs, which most people have losen patience but they can be ready to embezzled all the earnings from the jobs.

On the time that we are experiencing some struggles then we would definitely be that needing to deal up with things even if its against with our interest. Lets say that we've found some job but it is really not just in line with your interest then it would really be just that hard to accept it out but on the time that you are experiencing some problems then this is where things do start to make you realize that you shouldnt really be choosing on whats your interest on things. Yes, you could apply for another one but you cant really be able to make yourself to be so sure that you would be able to get the job that you are wanting into. We do know that competition is really that high when it comes to job seeking on which other people would really be liking to look for some job too because surviving nowadays is never been that simple
or easy.

Doesnt matter on what are the jobs that you do able to have whether offline or online, as long it does fit out and make you do able to earn then this what matter the most. Just like me on which i had applied on a job
which is really that too far with my expectations but since i dont have any choice because i do have a family to feed then you would really be needing to adapt on whats up into your front.
If you do choose yourself on being choosy on the things you are really that dealing with then its up to your own choice.
