i figure all crypto gambling streamers will go to youtube. but as you know that won't last long.

youtube will do what they do best, censor the biggest channels as soon as they are settled in.

Stunna, can you make a site thats just for crypto gambling streaming?

you would make millions from it.

i love watching slot streamers. its great entertainment.
I just found out that Some gambling contents have been banned from Twitch after one of its streamers reportedly stole tens of thousands of dollars from fans and fellow streamers in order to fuel a gambling habit.
More information : https://www.npr.org/2022/09/22/1124384092/twitch-bans-some-gambling-content-after-an-outcry-from-streamers
actually this is just one piece of so much happening in twitch specially in gambling world so the platform as being discussed to  banned Gambling streamers , but the link is indeed one of the main reason why twitch wanted to maintain their trustworthiness by not letting any bad influencers in their site.
though there are other platform that they can transfer but this will bring big impact to the existing site that uses the platform to lure gamblers.

Watching streamers gambling with a ton of money is a complete waste of time if you ask me since the funds that they use are usually supplied by the site that they are gambling in which implies that the risk factor here is zero.

It's a clever tactic used by many popular gambling sites to attract gamblers for sure, but trying to replicate their wins is silly due to the difference in the risk factor between the streamers and gamblers.

I guess some people watch these streams for fun which is the silver lining here.
I believe people watch not because they think it is real gambling, but because they just like to watch people do stuff. I mean look at all the gamers, I can buy the game and play it myself as well, and in this day and age there are so many places that I can go ahead and find other people to group up and play together too, and yet I do not do it at all.

This is why I believe that we shouldn't really be expecting anything big out of this, it is not about the real money or fake money, it's about the community basically. If you watch someone then you sort of belong to their community and if you chat enough, you will get to know other people and make friends, that has always been the real reason for twitch.

Content creators and advertisers need to follow the policies given by these centralized platforms and also creators needs  to find a more decentralized place on the internet where they can create content and stream without much restrictions.
Agreed. I guess such decentralised places do exist, but they pale in popularity when compared to centralised platforms like YouTube, Twitch etc.

This is why I believe that we shouldn't really be expecting anything big out of this, it is not about the real money or fake money, it's about the community basically. If you watch someone then you sort of belong to their community and if you chat enough, you will get to know other people and make friends, that has always been the real reason for twitch.
I understand your opinion, but comparing gaming with real money gambling doesn't make much sense. You stand to lose money while trying to replicate streamer wins while the same doesn't apply to playing games.

Not only on twitch but also into other similar platforms as well. This do really means on having communication and interaction with fellow gamers or something to those people who do want to socialize for those someone
who do share up with the same interest or hobby. It is really no brainer that we would really be looking on places which we do really able to find ourselves to be relevant.
Whenever someone do watch up some streams then it would be mostly be pertaining about their interest on watching someone who do play or it really just vary that it had caught their attention.
We could really deal up things according on what we do see on point whether it do really fits out on something we do prefer or not.

Youtube may block gambling content in countries where gambling is ban.  That is the censorship youtube will do on gambling channels.

Just to clarify, if its law in those countries there is no maybe about those actions they will happen or the company will be expelled from the country.   Google, alphabet, Youtube might be large global entities but they are still the significance of a kid playing in the street compared to a national government compelling you to follow not just guidelines but exact instructions.  Gambling will be banned from any mention in many places no doubt, we only hope that crypto is not treated in any similar way but is regarded as something relatively inert and neutral.

Only a YouTube hater would say crap like that since anyone with a half-decent brain knows that YouTube is way, way more popular than the other platforms which were mentioned in some of the previous posts.
You are right. YouTube is more popular than Twitch and it's not fair to compare them to each other. However, twitch is more suitable for streamer especially gamers, thanks to its features.
Youtube rules and terms are more strict then Twitch. So, if a type of content is banned on twitch, you can be sure it will not be accepted on youtube.

Although I am not a fan of tiktok as I believe it's mostly used by the Gen Z, it looks like it's the new trend and it may replace those old streaming platforms.

Aside from that, Youtube is a good platform and maybe a good alternative for gambling streamers now that twitch is banning these gambling streamers.
YouTube is more restrictive when compared to Twitch in this case which is why I don't think your suggestion is really helpful here.

As of now, Youtube doesn't forbid gambling streamers so your argument about being restrictive is somehow invalid.  It is possible that the time will come for Youtube to do the same thing as twitch but not at this moment.  Streamers whose content are about to be banned on twitch needs an alternative platform and Youtube is one of the best alternative for now.  If you don't think Youtube is a good alternative then kindly tell me which platform do you think is much better.

I remember reading in the past that youtube only allows gambling content where the gambling site is approved by them(similar to what was written on the twitch announcement that was posted on a thread here in the forum), so as far as I know, they do restrict certain gambling content that violates their community guideline. that being said I am not sure if they are more restrictive than twitch but as far as I know, they do restrict certain gambling content.

I have no doubt that Drake will use the tried and tested DLive that Eddie is using every Saturday now, because Eddie from Stake.com were also banned from the Twitch platform.  Roll Eyes  (Just because he mentioned the Stake.com domain and also displayed it on a banner add whilst he was streaming)

I am just worried that the DLive platform will not be robust enough to handle the Drake stream, because he has a significant amount of people following him.  Roll Eyes

Why do we even need to compare Youtube and twitch ? Both cover the difference audience and both are popular in one way or another, however, Youtube is more watched as compared to Twitch. As per some data , Youtube has 2.1 billion monthly active users while only 30 Million Active users visit Twitch daily. So you can find the difference in number of visitors at both platforms.

However, when it comes to gambling content or crypto currencies content, both have some restrictions and those streamers are not given free hand on both platforms. Twitch bans content which included unlicensed slots, dice  and other gambling games while youtube has a restricted policy over content related to gambling, drugs , alcohol etc.

Content creators and advertisers need to follow the policies given by these centralized platforms and also creators needs  to find a more decentralized place on the internet where they can create content and stream without much restrictions.
Youtube doesn't just have videos, youtube has streaming as well for a while now. There has been a ton of people who moved from Twitch to youtube, and then even back, which means that you are seeing something that would be profitable for these people if they picked youtube and streamed their gambling there.

But, as far as I know youtube already has a ban for gambling streams, which means that both of these websites are out. It's clear that there is a need for gambling only (well you can add other stuff too but marketing point should be gambling) streaming service, that way all of these gamblers would go there, including drake, which would create a good marketing for them. Hell, Drake could start his own, and make money from that too.

This doesnt talk about getting banned or something but totally Twitch is really banning out gambling streams specially into those offshore licenses outside US and since Drake is
commonly seen on this platform then other streamers would really be affected as well but its true that it wont really be that much of an issue
considering that we do have other platforms which these streamers would be flocking in.

It would be never a problem since there are currently existing platforms which can do the job.It is on Twitch loss if they would really be implying these rules.

This is if twitch is actually banning individual streamers as well, then I guess it's safe to say that Drake will be banned, but if we should go by what Twitch said in the announcement they posted on Twitter, they said they are banning casinos from streaming on their platform, not individual streamers like Drake and the likes.

And as for him using other platforms like Facebook for his streaming business, if he was to ask me, I would suggest Instagram, I find streaming on  Instagram more professional than streaming on Facebook.

Let's just assume that Drake is finally banned from Twitch,

This is if twitch is actually banning individual streamers as well, then I guess it's safe to say that Drake will be banned, but if we should go by what Twitch said in the announcement they posted on Twitter, they said they are banning casinos from streaming on their platform, not individual streamers like Drake and the likes.

And as for him using other platforms like Facebook for his streaming business, if he was to ask me, I would suggest Instagram, I find streaming on  Instagram more professional than streaming on Facebook.
I think its very hard to stream gambling on facebook and Instagram because both are strict they require licenses before a streamer can stream gambling activities on these platforms.
Probably going to wait if Eddie is going to buy Dlive then they can stream there without any issues.

Youtube is worst than Twitch, so I don't think there's another good platform for Drake except Twitch since the other platforms doesn't popular.

Why is YouTube worse than twitch? They have massive global market share, just not in livestreaming. Their political censorship is overboard but I understand wanting to waive liability from the tech censorship overlords by banning discussion of contentious political topics. Gambling isn't as taboo so it seems like they allow gambling content to be published.

Youtube may block gambling content in countries where gambling is ban.  That is the censorship youtube will do on gambling channels.  Youtube is playing safe when they remove or banned videos that have political views.  They just don't want to have problems with the authority and wanted to make their operation smooth by banning and deleting videos that can offend or attack any political parties.  Aside from that, Youtube is a good platform and maybe a good alternative for gambling streamers now that twitch is banning these gambling streamers.

Though we also don't know what will happen if regulators started to pressure youtube to ban gambling streamers since it is highly possible to happen too.

This is a difficult time for most streamers and there is not still a better place for them to go and relax doing what they love doing which do enlighten gamblers on the latest. Some people are still seeing YouTube as an alternative for streamers which could look welcoming but not the best with the way I am looking at it.
YouTube is monetising there platform to make more money and they will be ready to ban and thing whether video or any that can make government to take a look at there activities which can lead to heavy sanctions. YouTube will not give streamers a better and complete view.

So far, YouTube is really leading in preferred alternatives for gambling streamers and content creator to run to if ever Twitch will really ban those kinds of content. However, like what you said, YouTube is not really ideal in terms of catering these players and streamers because as time goes by, they also limit the type of content of what you are can upload. This makes it inconvenient and hassle on the part of the streamers and creators as well.

I agree that YouTube really maximizes their monetization and we can't really blame them since they are also a business. However, to the extent of suspension and banning of accounts and categories to be uploaded and streamed the moment they deem it necessary will just bring the same chaos to the streaming community particularly with the subject of gambling, just like whats happening now. The only difference is that it is delayed in nature since there's a only a few who decided to make the jump yet. In addition, YouTube is densely populated with minors, so it could lead to more serious problems if the age restriction won't be followed strictly.

Roll Eyes
Considering drake was doing something for just partnership, I am pretty sure that he will be gambling wherever he is told to, so wherever Eddie ends up, Drake will gamble there too. This is just a business deal for him and for stake as well, I do not know where all the other gamblers will go, but I know for sure that Drake and Eddie will stick together and gamble at the same place no matter where that place is.

I know it's not idea for that type of situation because in the end they may have to switch places. But, the point of Drake streaming is partnership with stake so that he would bring in more customers via his streams so he is not doing it for anything else.

i figure all crypto gambling streamers will go to youtube. but as you know that won't last long.

youtube will do what they do best, censor the biggest channels as soon as they are settled in.

Stunna, can you make a site thats just for crypto gambling streaming?

you would make millions from it.

i love watching slot streamers. its great entertainment.

I think the site you mention is more concerned with convenience for its users, so they pay more attention to what they think is best. By banning gambling on the platform, They will get more respect from their users, I think so based on what I read from the reasons for the ban on the platform.

In as much as it is possible, for me, I see no reason why it will be hard for a global superstar like "Drake" from getting a license to enable him run a successful live streaming. Because for me, I see Instagram to be a very good alternative compared to its counterpart "Facebook" which is always loaded with a variety of content. And I hope "Twitch" never regret this action made if all it's gambling streamers abandon the platform for good, as that will be a very huge loss of money to Twitch.

They may, I didn't know that youtube was also banned, but I believe that it depends on the streamer and what they do to get the viewers. Are you telling me  that drake could stream "anywhere" and I mean literally anywhere and can't find viewers?

Of course he would be able to find some viewers no matter where he streams, I feel like Eddie could do a smaller version of the same thing, of course not as much as Drake but still find some viewers, and that means it is going to be easy to handle. On the other hand, if we are talking about you or me, then it is going to me hard because we wouldn't get a lot of viewers anywhere, so it depends on their fan base, not where they stream.
Finally Drake will make a stream tomorrow on Twitch just few hours before the ban of Stake will officially starts there. So if they are rushing to put in place a stream now and announcing it only one day before, it's certainly because they want to make a last stream on Twitch. What is the reason if it's not because they think themselves they won't get the same success on another streaming platform?
