I am new here and i want to be a great part of this community.
I was introduce to this forum by a friend since July 06, 2022, all i was told and advice is i better read and pass and to post nonsense in this forum unless i want to get banned, ever since then i only visit here once in a while.
But i really want to learn more about this forum, what are the things i need to know before i can start contributing in ways which i am good at.
and how can i know where and when to make a post.
i only have a little and brief knowledge about bitcoin and crypto currency at large.

it will be much appreciated if the elders in here can guide me through.

For the where; check through the descriptions on the various boards to decide which is a best fit. If you do make a mistake here, the mods can move your thread to the one they feel is a better fit.

For when; at the time you have something to contribute to at least one other forum member, or have some question or inquiry to get clarity on.
It helps to use the forum search option to confirm if there is previous discssioons on that topic, that would guide what content you include, or if you go ahead to make the post at all.

For newcomers who doesn't know anything about this forum, my advice is don't plagiarism at all cost. Even you're a shitposter or spammer, it's still fine and your journey wouldn't be end. If you did plagiarism and someone report your post, your account high like will be banned by the moderators.

You can learn on any platform including this forum, but make sure you're learn about Bitcoin, don't learn about shitcoins since it just wasting your time.

Thats right. Only read posts here in order to learn if you arent ready to type a word or sentence to avoid mistakes. The search function could help you overcome all knowledges you didnt know just by reading. By the time you are well occupied and already used to terms, idea and concept, then unload some of your curiousity that werent on the search tab. No doubt youll be a good contributor when the time comes.

Spamming is actually a bannable offence, starting from series of temporary bans and leading up to a permanent ban if the user keeps on spamming the forum. This rule is of course not taking as seriously as it should be, and plagiarism attracts a swifter and permanent penalty.

I would like to know who considers the forum a place with the strictest rules. No one will ever ban you if you actively participate in discussions. Choose topics that interest you. If you don't understand something, just ask. I don't think that by asking a good and appropriate question, you will be regarded as a spammer. Just imagine you are interested in some subject; what do you do in this case in ordinary life? You go to the Internet, ask, find answers, do not understand, and ask again. By gaining some knowledge, you will help others. Right?

Now that you mention it I went to check his forum posting history and to my great surprise, this is indeed the OP's first post since registering on this forum 3 months ago.
I can only guess the reasons for that.
I know the case of a 15-year-old girl who registered on this forum, wrote several posts, and then some older forum members attacked her so fiercely that the girl got scared and stopped writing on the forum. That happened a few years ago.
I hope that this will not be the case with the OP and that he will soon become much more active on this forum.
He started in a very good way, asking for advice and help, so I sincerely hope that he will soon become an active member of our forum community. OP, you already have my support and the support of other members.

I would want you to fix this into your memory. No body would be guarding your by holding your hands all through absolutely no body. The forum is erected in such a way that can afford you to guide yourself through the forum.
And as to where ti start, I advise here because you see post about things you may experience with your time here.
You should never omit the pinned messages and the rules should be at your finger tips.

If you are absolutely ready to learn then reading should not be your weakness, good a thing I have seen post from newbies and rank just above you about their early mistakes. You can use that as a guide.

The most common reason for banning an account is copy-pasting from the article without a proper source, you might watch this out to avoid problems in your account.

This section (Beginners & Help) will really help your if you'll read a lot here and spend your precious time.
Here's a thread created by Ratimov that will surely learn you more if you'll read all of these, it's easy to find helpful topics because it's already organized.

I must say reading through the do and done(s) of the forum alone can really cost one a whole weak. but i have learned a lot and am ready to start, if their is one thing i learned most already is, its better to see a topic read and pass than to plagiarize.

Learned how to quote someone's reply.. only having issue on how to add image and add links to comments like i have come across in many thread... but with time i will learn all of those to make my stay here unique, clean and productive.

The forum is actually flexible the main thing is just to play by the rules is actually a big place to learn and definitely accept corrections once they are made but sincerely when I started I was also Scared of making contributions but with time what I do majorly is to learn from people and visiting different sections  and ask questions once there is any form of challenge, bitcointalk is always here to be a guide to you so been a member of this forum is a great advantage.

Never plagiarize. The forum is very strict on that. Most other rules are more or less up for discussion, but the plagiarism rule isn't. It's better to add one link too many from the sources you got your information from then not adding any at all.

The images you add now won't become visible while you are a newbie. When you rank up to Jr. Member at least, you will be allowed to post them freely. The ones from your past posts will also become visible. There is a workaround to that and that's buying a copper membership. But unless you are planning to create threads with plenty of images and graphics, most people don't need that.

Good that you have gone through the forum and checked about different ways to post on the forum and this is usually to avoid long links and simply insert hyperlinks in between your post and you should focus on learning new things here spending time around.

My advice is read and do some research using google engine, everything you will read on here won't be correct at times that's why you need to do your further digging by yourself before concluding that the information you are been passed to is correct, some people will post like they know it all but wait for more replies before making up your mind.
