I really don't see any reason to roll the dice anymore rather than walk away with half of the price.

I want to quote that huge amount because for an ordinary gambler who is not wagering that much, most common in participating with any giveaways, the chance that they will take whatever amount they can in an easy access way. Splitting will assure them the amount and we are speaking with such an amount that can't be resisted, especially if it's come from a free opportunity.

Depends on the organizer of the said giveaway.If they do really like to have 1 winner then they would really be deciding to have a re-roll but if they do really like for that roll to be the final then there would be a split.

A really interesting point of discussion. I think I saw this in practice in a game show clip I saw somewhere in the internet. Premise is that two people are tasked with choosing between playing "steal" or "split"
If one player chooses split while the other chooses steal, the one who chose to steal gets to bag all the prize money. If both of them however plays steal however, they don't get anything. Lastly, if both of them choose to play split, they go home with half the prize. If done with an interaction with the other person you are betting with, you can play a bluff on them that will maximize both your profit. And that is to immediately let them know that you are going to steal, or in this case reroll, ask them to choose split, and then tell them that you're just gonna send them the money, but actually choose split so that you go home with half the prize.

Although it must be said that the premise you gave us leaves me little to come up with because you never specified if the winner is to be chosen based on who has a closest number to the winning one which would be me.

Some would be contented and some wont really be that accepting until they do get the whole amount or that freebie.In my own opinion then i would really be that
contented on having that split prize rather than on having a re-roll which you cant really assure that you could really get something because there's always an

Referring to OP, the terms are not mentioned that's why the common answer here is to take right away the split money.

If the terms are known, maybe we can have different answers here. There's also a question that if BTC0.1 is only the pot amount and the other one let's say reroll it and won, the pot is not enough now to cover all the winnings as the other half is now taken home by the winner who decides not to reroll it.

I think the decision depends on the bet... if the bet was 1 mBTC or lower I guess players would be satisfied with an x50 prize (or higher if the bet was lower), but in the case when players make bets with bigger amounts they winning x2 or x3 will not be interesting, most likely they will go for enrolling! I know there's a saying "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush", but some people want a lot more birds and they are ready to go all the way. I was like that before, I was always ready to go for all or nothing, but now I would settle with lower but secure prizes. I am older and a bit wiser, and I'm not free and on my own, as I was before, now I need to think about the family. My gambling style changed with time, I guess that happens to all, eventually.
