Peeps Place changed nickname to Rating Placehttps://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=234099For anyone who dont know, member Rating Place not long ago changed his username from Peeps PlaceOnce again I am convinced that the majority of those who changed their nicknames are more than dubious and suspicious persons He has a long reputation in gambling section for asking money from casino to list them better on his list that nobody uses. If casino dont accept his offer than he is giving them low rating and always talks negative about that casino, supporting everyone who attacks them. After we didnt agree on many things I ignored him long time ago, and I only saw his posts when someone else quoted him.
Few days ago after I did testing of one new casino member Rat, that is short from Rating Place, decided to abuse trust and accuse me for doing the same thing. I never had anything to do with him and we never traded, but he gave me negative feedback and accused me without proof for abusing trust and stalking posters. I dont know who are those stalked posters, but I cant stalk someone who I ignore.

Oh my god, I would like to note that most of those who changed their nicknames are dubious persons with dubious trust reviews. I think I'm starting to understand why they want to run away from themselves. They probably want to hide from something under the pretext of some far-fetched compelling reason. iwantapony changed nickname to Murathttps://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=815246

Today we have a rare candidate. I didn't notice him in shady tricks. I will mark him in green. Usually I rarely grant such an honor to anyone. GuildMiners changed nickname to Vodhttps://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=30747BTW - I changed my name from GuildMiners to Vod in 2012 or so.

OP, can I ask you what's the point of this topic? Not that I'm against it, but I just know that some users changed their names for privacy reasons and probably don't want to be listed there. Anyway, didn't knew that Vod changed his name, but damn, it was so long time ago.

I didn't want to tell him the name I used before that one - I'll let him discover that one for himself. OP, can I ask you what's the point of this topic?
Agreed. A database would be a much better foundation for this type of information.

I also asked Cyrus for change and was glad he granted my request, it's been 5 years since I want to rid of that username.

Changing your nickname doesn't help to hide The profile ID remains the same: For example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=547435You can hide your identity only by deleting your account. But deleting option is no longer supported by the forum Even the great Anonymous (first deleted user on bitcointalk) could be identified (former nicknames are "Immanuel Go" and "Atlas") by quoted posts

I don't know, maybe previously they signed up with their real name or there was something else what can reveal their identity. Though, once you publish something on internet, it's almost impossible to hide your traces completely.

No one has the right to limit the rights of people if they want to register under their real names. At Facebook - there are many people with their real names. Even nutildah was there under his real name. What next? This is their rights

I'm not sure where I wasn't clear enough. Yes, no one has the right to limit the rights of people if they want to register under their real names. But we aren't talking about it. Let's say that you signed up here with your real name. But let's say that after some time you decide that you don't want to use your real name here for privacy reasons. This is why some people here asked to change their nickname. Not sure what it has to do with Facebbok. Because on Facebook your're supposed to signup with your real name. This is whattheirrules requires.

LOL, are you sure that these former nicknames was a real names in their documents: Poker Player, The Pharmacist, Coolcryptovator, Igehhh, BTC_Bear, Peeps Place, mjglqw etc? This is why some people here asked to change their nickname.
No, the real reason of nickname changing is a avoiding of scam accusation or avoiding of accusations of suspicious activity for privacy reasons
What privacy reasons? LOL If a person left a bunch of evidence about himself all over the Internet, including Facebook and other social networks, and then just changed his nickname on bitcointalk.org, then this will not protect him in any way If nutildah will change his nickname on bitcointalk. How will that protect him? Everyone saw his real name on Facebook
