Congratulations for your big win. It doesn't happen everyday. I must commend you for being able to make a single bet with such amount of money. I don't know how rich you are, if you are not good rich, it is a bad idea. Don't bet with the money that will affect your state of life if you lose it.
I don't also know if you will live upto your decision. I have made some decisions in the past not to gamble again but I found myself doing it again and again. I understood it was a fun to me, what I do is that I regulate myself and decide the amount of money to use for gambling.

First, congratulation on your win it sure is a reason to celebrate and brag about it, but I doubt you are going to quit, the temptation to continue playing or bet in the future like a week or month from now is very tempting, you will always remember your winning and once you see a fight or a game that you think will give you a chance to win I'm sure you're going to go for it, never say never I read and heard it a thousand times before.

I join the congratulations of OP and I also want to say that he was damn lucky. Will this luck continue forever? I don't think so. But these cases of winning will undoubtedly spur OP again and again to repeat this success, which in turn will increase the chances of one day to lose. I also congratulate the OP and win big and also you have good intentions. And my question is because a big win has just been won and a lot of people will do the same to quit when they get a big win, but in reality it's not as easy as they say.

You must be really luck to win such a good amount in gambling. Most of the people tend to lose money in gambling.
I am happy to hear that you are taking a break from gambling after winning a huge amount.
Most of the people tend to keep gambling and lose the won amount.
When you return next year to gambling make sure not to lose money by placing a huge bets.
Start slow and with low amounts and gradually get a grip over it.

Good thinking. Quit when you're ahead and never chase too much on the wins as it could even result with you losing more than what you've gained. You can still play here and there but only as pastimes or something to just fill your gsmbling hunger, but don't make big bets at all. Agree with you because it won't do any good other than just losing more money. I'm sure no gambler wants to lose a lot of money. And if we cannot see the risk of losing large amounts, we better try to control ourselves so as not to lose money again. I presume he's considering it for the rest of the year 2023 as well not just that he resumes when 2023 comes. I think OP got so lucky and not a regular gambler at all that's why he wants to quit, imagine 9k USD isn't that much yet he thinks it's already worth it. I cannot not mention the guy who few weeks ago won 10BTC on freebitco - he was a long time gambler and his loses made him stop gambling at all. He was around -5BTC in the long term statistics, he stopped gambling but he still had some tickets for the lottery and bang! 10BTC. Just like a reward for a good decision for the future of his life.

Congratulations OP, on your big win. I hope you get over your gambling cravings. But it will be very hard, a lot of people don't succeed and they keep gambling. You received $9000 as a result of the incident. Why not spend that money on psychotherapy. I think you will struggle with addiction much easier if you have a therapist overseeing the process.
