Most of the cryptocurrencies listed on the market have experienced large gains in price over the past years. Even during the bear market, some coins have managed to "pump" a little in price because of the hype. But that doesn't seem to be the case with LTC, as market prices are relatively the same these days. In the worse cases, LTC's price goes down only to take quite a long time to go back to its previous highs (if it ever does). I don't get why Litecoin is often under the radar of investors and traders alike, when it's one of the oldest cryptocurrencies on the market. The supply is finite (84m coins), and it's still a PoW coin unlike most of the popular "shitcoins" (ETH, ADA, BNB) which are PoS. Not only that, but LTC recently adopted a privacy mechanism dubbed "Mimblewimble" to help bring anonymity to the Blockchain. Have people forgotten about this coin? It's sad because Litecoin was often proclaimed as "Silver to Bitcoin's Gold". With Ethereum becoming less-decentralized after "The Merge", it might be possible for a truly-decentralized cryptocurrency like LTC to gain the spotlight once more.

What do you think about LTC? Will it die soon? Or will it last? Do you think it'll go sky-high sometime in the future? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Yeah it's forgotten since most people only look for Bitcoin, not Litecoin. Litecoin's development also slow and the Mimblewimble privacy mechanism is seems not really important. It's good to see about privacy improvement, but it's not quite enough since I don't find any trusted Litecoin mixer and DEX that has a good trading volume. Bitcoin already have both of it, so it's easier to use the privacy feature.

Some people can directly use Monero to achieve 100% privacy rather than need to use Litecoin to get privacy.

It really seems like that Litecoin is kind of on the sideline now in the last two years or so. As you already said, at lot has happened in the crypto space in the last two years but Litecoin was not really a part of those crazy movements and developments. The main reason for that in my opinion is the fact, that the biggest trends in the last 2 years were Defi, NFTs, play2earn and the metaverse and all of that stuff is just not possible to create on Litecoin as it does not offer smart contract functionality. It's the same with bitcoin but of course BTC has the big advantage that it basically invented crypto and therefore still is the leading indicator for the whole market.
I don't think that Litecoin will die, but i also don't think that it will come back to the top 10 to be honest.

It seems to me that this is a really serious mystery why a litecoin with such a good basis (stable operation for many years, universality, inexpensive transactions, reliability, convenience, POW algorithm with an ever-increasing hash rate) cannot not only update their ATH, but also in this cycle where Bitcoin took 60 thousand, and ETH got 4 thousand, LTC should have taken at least one thousand.

Nevertheless, the project is developing and is quite active in social networks, for example, here is one of the latest quotes
"$LTC Is consistently one of the most active blockchains in the world. Depending how you look at it, by transaction volume, active addresses, payments and community activity, #Litecoin is always in the top 2-4. And, Litecoin activity is GROWING!!"

No, I doubt that it will simply die, it's one of the oldest crypto for all we know and a good little brother for bitcoin. So litecoin is always on the shadow, but nevertheless still enjoy some success and support from the community.

Even majority of the gamblers are still using it as far as I know, very fast and who knows, in the next bull run, we might see it as one major coin that will give us a good profit.

Its not really been forgotten because this is included on top selections among traders. But it just many people pick shitcoins in terms of investment because they see that the money is fast due to high volatility compare to the top one.

But for sure once bitcoin pump LTC will pump to since it still got decent volume on exchangers where it listed.

ASICs are used to mine Litecoin. And it would be nice to change the mining algorithm to a more ASIC-resistant one and adapt the coin for miners on video cards. Then perhaps most miners will be interested in this coin.

The hashrate of litecoin is already growing without any problems. Some day ago hashrate seems to have updated its record and amounted to 558 TH/s.
So there are no problems with new miners in LTC. What is the point of changing something in a working mechanism?
GPUs are all unprofitable now and until the market finds a profitable coin, like ETH before, it will continue and LTC can't help with that only bull market can.

Litecoin is a very reliable decentralized coin, but the transaction speed is very slow, so the ecosystem is inferior to many other blockchains with a large TPS. And most users do not care about security and decentralization, so they store their coins on Binance because it is more convenient.

I love Litecoin and have been using it alongside BTC for years. It's fast and accepted almost everywhere Bitcoin is.

It's a great secondary crypto for everyday transactions.

Only a few people talking about it anymore in the forum. Back when China had not banned crypto, LTC used to be thier favorite, a top on thier list but almost forgotten now. While it is a POW and decentralized still, Elon didn't choose this one but Doge.

They are all POW but I guess there is more to the cheaper POW coin and popularity. LTC will still go up when the bull market begins, that's for sure you only have to wait.

I don't think Litecoin is a forgotten currency given that there are still miners mining it. Litecoin sustained it's top spot on CMC for a long time that's why I think it's still a good token that will last even more longer. I remember the days that Litecoin is one of the coins that traders are loving to trade since as far as I remember it has many pairs in the market. Litecoin is use as a payment by online merchants along side with bitcoin and ethereum. Litecoin hasn't received that much hyped compared to other coins that overtaken it though I still believe that litecoin will stay in the market.

What makes Litecoin valuable is the fact that people want to use it. People hoard their Litecoins because they believe they can be worth much more in the future. And if enough people think that way, then Litecoin's value will go up. It's all about perception only.

I personally think that Litecoin should not be forgotten. For some reason, there are some people who are still interested in Litecoin, and have even been mining this cryptocurrency. I don't know how long people will continue to mine it, but so far it seems they are still using it in trading and other transactions.

The lack of adoption makes Litecoin seem forgotten but not completely forgotten being able to remain on many large exchanges with high volumes and remain in the top 20 of CMC proves that litecoin has not been completely forgotten, it's just that the purpose of this coin is only to be a trading coin

Litecoin forgotten!! Really??

Just head towards coinmarketcap and look at the daily volume. It is still within top 20 cryptocurrencies in the list. People are not talking about it in the forum's, doesn't really make it forgotten. People are pretty much actively trading on Litecoin. It just that there's not much buzz about it due to lack of new innovations around it. However, Litecoin is an active coin.

I don't think that it's forgotten, if it was then it should have been too low with its ranking and other factors but it's not. But the most popular and favorable if we'll compare it with ETH then obviously, it's still ETH.

What do you think about LTC? Will it die soon? Or will it last? Do you think it'll go sky-high sometime in the future? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
It will last.

A lot of years have gone and it's still remaining intact and strong unlike the other old altcoins that have became popular yet, they're now gone under the radar of top 100-200 coins.

I wouldn't say people forgot the Litecoin and its a lot of better than shitcoins which grown drastically in the recent years but the actual reason could be the Litecoin overshadowed by the hyped coins so new people entering into the market doesn't know it so the potential to grow further from its previous high lacks because there is a lack for investors to know it cause its same like bitcoin so no one is going to boost it like Elon for Doge.

Don't think that Litecoin is a forgotten coin at all. In fact, I guess it is about one of the few coins that will still soar a lot. We need to consider that Litecoin was the second cryptocurrency ever to be developed. It's an heir of the Bitcoin technology and it offers faster transactions at lower fees with the same sort of security that Bitcoin does. When I need to transact with cryptos I always go for Litecoin. I'm still buying it today as I'm certain it will still give me 10x profits

Litecoin is like a sleeping dragon, once it wakes up it will release fire which means when the bull run Litecoin will really experience a high pump,
there is evidence that you can look at the chart from LTC and you will know what happened in 2014, 2017 and 2021. yup Litecoin is experiencing a high pump,
this coin is very rarely discussed on social media, therefore LTC is really slow to get big profits, only investors who can afford long term will succeed in LTC.

It was not totally forgotten but more on rejections as to be honest, Litecoin isn't really a profitable investment compared to others. Wise investors will simply don't just look if that is one of the top coins in the CMC or not but they are looking for a profitable opportunity that is not found in this project. I don't say this coin will vanish soon but I look this to become an undervalued coin like shitcoins. I hope I was wrong but if the team won't take action and help it to grow, I will certainly be going right.
