Litecoin has the power of Bitcoin & DOGE combined. It is deflationary with fixed supply like Bitcoin. Again, it's transaction fees are cheap and has a quick settlement time like DOGE. There is no reason for it's untimely death.

Only drawback I see in Litecoin is that it's community is not as apprehensive to new projects as Bitcoin/DOGE. Openness to the new & untested is required for growth.

What do you think about LTC?

I think LTC had gone quiet for many years, I still remember it as Silver while Bitcoin is gold, it was 2nd to Bitcoin before ETH and other smart-contract cryptocurrency occurs.

Will it die soon? Or will it last?

I believe it won't die soon and will still be around for long time but I do not have any idea if it will last.  It still has big community so I think it is enough for LTC to get going for years.

Do you think it'll go sky-high sometime in the future? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

I have no idea because I haven't read any interesting updates on LTC yet. Unless LTC gets pumped hard, with its current situation of no incredible development I am hesitant to say that it will go sky-high.

I'd see no reason to say that Litecoin is on its way to dying. NO - Litecoin remains valuable despite the situation that its name hasn't been recognized by many investors but I certainly believe this project won't be like others who turn to shitcoins. In fact, Litecoin is very useful to the market, many people are still using this day by day but it wasn't talking too much because that is the nature of this project, no one even tried to make influence this and make hype, unlike the others.

As you can see @OP, these are some of the biggest cryptocurrencies in the game. And Litecoin is one of them. So, yes, it has a place in this world and a reason to continue existing. Think of it more like silver than gold, it may not be as flashy or popular as Bitcoin, but it is still useful for some things. Litecoin has its shines too, and it's definitely worth the time to check out if you're interested in investing your money or just using it for transactions. If your opinion of Litecoin is based on facts, I can almost guarantee that you won't be disappointed.

One among the old cryptocurrency and much expected one. For some reason it lacks. Particularly there is no proper support system to push it forward. However it is one among the cryptocurrency that have got increased acceptance in different stores and needs. Litecoin is expected to bounce high, but it is trailing behind the expectation. Once a competence asset to ethereum now moves in a much slower way.

Looking on Dogecoin which is also one of the oldest coins that we do have the in market. We havent thought that it would really be able to push its price up that high considering back on the past
where people just absolutely treating it as a meme or joke coin and this is where people do hesitate on accumulating more until it did make out some pump.Lucky for those who had believed
and unlucky for those who had missed out.For LTC then a long there's volume and as long theres movement then this does indicate that there are still people who are engaging into it.
We can say that it might be having less attention but still be considered that its completely dead.

In the last bull run of cryptocurrency market, people put more belief into new technologies, new coins, new tokens and they mostly skipped or ignored old altcoins. Because they market is a zero-sum game so not all of them lost money. Some of them won with their investments or bets and get profit but here I only want to say about one thing that is important for future bull runs.

New technologies, new trends are not clearly good or bad. Good or bad depends on a project you invest in. Is it legit, non-scam or is it only a tool for scammers to parasite on a new technology and a new trend to scam money more easily?

Litecoin is like Dash and other old altcoins, they did not actually have too good recovery or bull runs in last two years. The past two years belong to tokens, new chains, NFTs and most of those projects ends with /100 or /1000 or dead.

No updates and it wasn't being talked at conferences or seminars etc. I mean we don't hear anything about Litecoin.
The last update that I've heard is the Mimblewimble (which is a cool name for me), there hasn't been any updates yet with the project aside from a few bugs and some few developments.

It has been there for a long time and many exchanges are still accepting it and I believe they will continue to accept it. It's very unfortunate that it wasn't as popular as it is right now. Well, nobody is talking about it like what DOGE is. Just look at other altcoins that have been there for a long time. Coins such as IOTA, NEM, XEM, DASH, EOS etc. These are some of the top coins back a few years ago but now at the bottom for some reasons and it's the same with Litecoin. I don't expect it to die but probably it will gradually go down to top 50 like what other altcoins did.

I was a supporter of Litecoin before. Well, it was a long time ago when the competition was not that high yet. It was a good investment and I made good profits out of it.
But lots of cryptocurrencies came out and most of them have created good projects so I switched the funds to another.
Will it die? I don't think so. The value will possibly go lower but I doubt about death although it is being forgotten. Despite that, it's still in good position which will never be achieved by other cryptocurrencies entering the new market.

That’s the point, if it doesn't die then it survives and I am doing fine with long term holding it as well. It means, anything that doesn't die even after 10 years in the crypto world is something that is good I believe. Litecoin has been around for over 11 years, and that’s something shocking considering even bitcoin has been around for just 13 or so years.

It means that Litecoin surviving this long means that it is doing fine so far and there is absolutely no reason why it shouldn't do fine in the future. I always believe that long term results of a coin matters more than what it has done in the last year alone, because it shows a good proof of the future.

Litecoin is one of those good-old coins that are as solid as Bitcoin itself in terms of decentralization and censorship-resistance. It's fast, dirt cheap, with an extremely-limited supply of 84m coins. If inflationary cryptocurrencies like BNB and ETH went all the way to the moon, then LTC can do better. The problem with Litecoin is that development progress is quite slow compared to other cryptocurrencies being traded on the market. Not only that, but the project is weak on the marketing/promotion side. If the team would've done a better job in this regard, Litecoin would've been among the top 5 coins in market cap.

Impressively, the coin hasn't vanished yet as many exchanges are still supporting it. There are a lot of trading pairs for LTC, so it's likely the coin will be with us for a very long time. As much as I'd like to see LTC rise in price, I think it's a lost cause. After all, people are focused on big players with shiny-new features (mainly smart contract platforms like BNB, Cardano, Avalanche, and Polygon). At least, Litecoin is a usable cryptocurrency. Who knows how far will it go? Just my opinion Smiley

Litecoin is still good if you consider it as a means of payment or a safe place to store assets like bitcoin but when it comes to an investment that gives a good return, it cannot compare to today's altcoins. Everyone's need is to make a quick profit and new altcoins provide that, LTC will still grow but at a slower rate so it won't be able to compete with new projects. For those who want to be safe, LTC will be the right choice next to BTC.

We all know that Litecoin is forked of Bitcoin. I believe that Litecoin will stay as Bitcoin stays.
Last part this will be on the side of Bitcoin just like other cryptocurrencies right now, most altcoins these days are correlate with Bitcoin but there are some altcoins that are totally shit or not legit but Litecoin, I trust it, Litecoin is already here for aged.

Most of the cryptocurrencies listed on the market have experienced large gains in price over the past years. Even during the bear market, some coins have managed to "pump" a little in price because of the hype. But that doesn't seem to be the case with LTC, as market prices are relatively the same these days. In the worse cases, LTC's price goes down only to take quite a long time to go back to its previous highs (if it ever does). I don't get why Litecoin is often under the radar of investors and traders alike, when it's one of the oldest cryptocurrencies on the market. The supply is finite (84m coins), and it's still a PoW coin unlike most of the popular "shitcoins" (ETH, ADA, BNB) which are PoS. Not only that, but LTC recently adopted a privacy mechanism dubbed "Mimblewimble" to help bring anonymity to the Blockchain. Have people forgotten about this coin? It's sad because Litecoin was often proclaimed as "Silver to Bitcoin's Gold". With Ethereum becoming less-decentralized after "The Merge", it might be possible for a truly-decentralized cryptocurrency like LTC to gain the spotlight once more.

What do you think about LTC? Will it die soon? Or will it last? Do you think it'll go sky-high sometime in the future? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

The coins you said that have pumped even in near market are newer coins. Like if you see even the trend for bitcoin, it has also not grown much in last few months and remained at same price. Now, lite coin has also behaved the same during this time. If it has not gone up by a lot, it has not even got down much.

On the other hand, if you see coins like Solana and Luna, they have completely ruined the wealth of investors. So if you have invested in lite coin during this period instead of Luna or Solana, your funds would have remained safe.

Personally, I still use litecoin for payments. I do this because of two reasons. Speed of transaction is ok and the fees for transfer is also less than transferring bitcoin. The people I do transactions with also have no problem while trading with litecoin.

People often ignore old coins (except Bitcoin) because they usually don't bring anything new to the space. What people want is something truly innovative that would help them make lots of money in the short term. That's why we've seen an influx of cryptocurrencies with a lot of "bells and whistles" to help attract as much investors into them as possible. Good-old coins like Litecoin and Dogecoin have decided to "play it safe", by introducing new features at a slow and steady rate (especially Litecoin). They prefer to be reliable and decentralized, than adding lots of new features that would lead towards many undesired situations in the long run.

I'm fine with Litecoin being as it is, as long as it works as intended. Who knows if it lasts for generations? Just my opinion Smiley

Smiley

I really didnt know much about LTC until I read your write-up.
I seriously think they should work more on their promotion. They seem like a pretty good project, but they are not taking much about themselves.
They can engage more with influencers and let them spread news about them.

I think Litecoin is not a forgotten cryptocurrency. I think Litecoin is a crypto currency that has lost its function. I used to prefer Litecoin when transferring money from exchange to exchange. There are hundreds of cryptocurrencies today that offer the benefits Litecoin has to offer. People don't have much reason to choose Litecoin anymore. Of course, this cannot prevent Litecoin from seeing its old ATH level again, but to me that is the current situation. There are now hundreds of coins that offer faster and cheaper money transfers than Litecoin.

Litecoin is one of my first cryptocurrencies, on par with Dogs and Dash. Even still, there is an old hardware wallet on the computer. I think Litecoin is just waiting for it's time to immediately remind itself again.

I agree that they should work on their promotion and get more people to talk about them.
No need for promotion for Litecoin.

Even without such, it's one of the most famous cryptocurrency and even titled as the silver bitcoin. It's 96 days away until we see it halve again and that's already more than enough to be known by people as its way of promoting itself.

But to expect a lot from it, you better not because we're currently seeing the market not doing good with fees but Litecoin isn't problematic with that.

There are thousands of coins in  the market and if we say lite coin had be forgotten then what about some of the new coins in the market that no one is investing in them again. This is one of the.
Challenges that is been faced in the cryptocurrency market because of the rate of new cryptocurrenies in the market. There are many coin projects that may be forgotten with time.
