Additionally, most sites don't moderate their ads so regardless of the site you see it on, it could still be inaccurate.

If a project does badly in its presale and ico, it's probably going to keep doing that.

ICOs are also a very risky investments and not really something you should be attempting to do without some even small research into the coins competition (if it's already something done by another coin - which by this point is quite likely).

Using resources like dex data (even collected by sites like coinmarketcap) are a good place to start to track more accurate price moves as their data can't be manipulated if it's on chain (there's more sites than cmc out there for checking price too - some just need a token address).

Every new altcoins advertisement are full with stereotypes. My only advice to  new investors is to stick with Bitcoin first before even going to do research on there own. Because I think even before you DYOR you need some basic cryptocurrency knowledge first. Projects at presale level are hard to research on as a newbie. New investors or rather greedy investors fall easily to some of the scam or shit ones because of the huge profit they are promised. So advice to myself and new investors is to stay away from them and get more cryptocurrency knowledge first

You read my mind. The Internet is a big garbage dump, and to trust every piece of news that comes in means becoming like an uneducated eccentric, ready to believe every barking dog. In our time, any news must be double-checked several times, and still, if there is doubt, allow yourself to doubt. Even large public sites sometimes write such unverified heresy that you involuntarily begin to think that the world is ruled by sheer lies and money.
To paraphrase an old proverb, one can say, "Check a hundred times, and then believe."

That's the work of contributors, news sites only think about the traffic (those contributors must meet certain qualifications at the beginning).
Unfortunately, since the growth of altcoins has become more massive, news sites have begun to be flooded with writers with interests that deviate from the path of vision as objective journalists. This isn't an honest move of course, but much to be desired.

Thats because those are start up projects. Even lowkey projects like that have some chance or at least if they could pay up the marketing on a famous news platform example coindesk then it can be featured too regardless its standing or status on market even brand new one.

Mostly they just need to shelter out the payment and good either they go boom or community ignore their launch.

Most news portals are inaccurate. So you should be careful  in choosing which news portal you believe in. Try to find good news portals which gives accurate information and updates frequently.

I don't doubt these could be news at a crypto news portal, because I've already seen this kind of advertisement before. Usually these portals try to discredit bitcoin while endorsing a random altcoin as something miraculous which is leading investors to hundred or thousand percentage profit. The reason behind this practice is profit for the website and article writer, without any doubts, but I'm not sure exactly how the profit is made. That is, if they are directly paid by the project for shilling or if they profit through ads solely.

Those are paid articles with click bait titles. Those articles will have some kind of tags such as a sponsored tag or an advertisement tag. If you look at the end of the article/news, you will notice that the site states that it is a paid article and that the information might be biased and hasn't been verified by the team. Most of those paid contents aren't moderated and you will notice that they are never at the "news" section. And you will only see those extremely biased articles on news portals that aren't known to everyone and doesn't have much traffic.

This is the article in question and yes, this isn't news coming from a crypto news outlet but rather a paid press release as what PX-Z noted. This isn't new in the industry, there are even more projects that could do it alone in a day to paid random sites to make it look like it's trending. They can only pay two sites? Probably low on budget project that just want to grab penny to investors, I'd rather invest it on top market cap coins/tokens rather risking it here.

Most of these "articles" that come out are really just shill attempts.  I try to not read any of those crooked articles, on top of being just blatenly wrong they are poorly written.  Good advise is to just find out for yourself and don't get your sources from these types of articles.

Never follow any news channel for any info regarding money or cryptos. They just spice up the news and display it in different manner. Always get the source of the news and follow it accordingly. More precisely if you want to know about good crypto news, then just check twitter and see what people are talking about the coin. This is the best way to get info about the coin and hence you won’t fall for the fake news from the trash media.

There are tons of crypto news portals that make news that doesn't match the reality (especially local news portals about crypto). Therefore, I only trust portals that have guaranteed credibility such as Cointelegraph and Coindesk. For beginners in crypto, I also think they won't be easily influenced by the news. Beginners in crypto will usually be more easily influenced by their circle such as telegram groups/telegram channels that they feel are good to follow.

OP don't get me wrong, I think your point are great but the message wasn't driven home correctly. Many news out there can cause FOMO, FUD but the news would still be made.

Telling people not to believe the news they read can always have a dangerous  backlash. People can be adamant followers and don't know when to unlearn and learn. Definitely some news out there are helpful.

So I rather advice people to don't act on a news you aren't sure of and always first do your research to confirm.

As a rule of thumb re: crypto investments, I think people should really do a lot more digging and require 3 or more credible sources of information before they start digging. Anyone that easily believes anything on the internet is bound to lose some money - or something - eventually. I also notice that new crypto announcements that are popping off have this particular strat wherein a certain successful coin has its investors "leaving" for their coin. It's the oldest marketing strat, defamatory and deceptive at best, but it's somehow working still.

One of the first things that i have learned back in 2017 when i joined the crypto space was that it is basically the wild west in terms of blatant shilling, misinformation, spreading false FUD, creating false hype and so on. I also stopped to listen to those crypto influencers a long time ago because i have not found a single one yet that is just giving his neutral point of view on projects. Those influencers are all just shilling those projects in which they could buy in during the seed or private sale. Then they shill this project to their followers to pump their own bag and then they dump on their own followers. It's a very shady tactic but very common.

We should at least differentiate between good news from not. Not all we see on the internet are true but we all have the research skills to verify whether crypto news we encounter is legit or not. It's been a decade already since news was being used as a tool and form to influence people's mindsets.

And in the vast world of crypto, expects that lots of news will be spread around. It's on us to believe if we will buy it or not.

Not all news are true or correct. They do it to make other people do FUD and if they do it then that means they can take advantage of it especially if you are an influencer like what elon musk did. I agree that your point is great but not that great as as I have said not all news are true or correct which means there are news that we shouldn't believe and news that we should believe. As far as I am concerned, it's not just crypro reviews that are paid but also some news which the target is to spread FOMO and FUD
