AFAIK, cryptocurrency has tamed Fiat of its prevalence and has made peeps free from the shackles of banking slavery.

Making transaction easier?  Well, not yet.  The cost to buy a wallet and the time learn their use are significantly more than using a credit card.

A google search states 7 transactions per second.  Yeah, the effective amount is larger, but a quick check for Mastercard reports 5000 per second.  That is on the order to 700 times more transactions.  Even with the Lightning network, the bandwidth needs to be much higher.  And with every full node needing some 400 Gbytes and growing every 10 minutes, that is quite a load to impose.

That said:
A world wide currency that cannot be controlled by governments, cannot be inflated by governments, ..., well, that is a huge step in the right direction.

I think this is a very broad question and very important! If we are talking about the usefulness or unsuitability of blockchain technology! I agree with you that too little attention is paid to the usefulness of technology and too much attention is paid to the financial side. This is what, I think, to some extent hinders the introduction of blockchain technology. I find that normal, and you don't need to laugh or get mad at them because you already know they don't know anything about bitcoin. They were like us when we first heard about bitcoin, we said we were not interested and didn't buy bitcoin when we first learned about it. Bitcoin is still new to them, and time will correct all those mistakes.

Getting into a new employment with similar job security is difficult in such time specially in jobs for developers. I believe some countries might be getting this example due to reasons unclear to me, but most low income countries might not see a similar rise in crypto-paid developers, yet.

Thing is that such jobs once they sink in, they stop paying well and start to reduce the monthly salary, knowing  that the employees are at their mercy because they quit their jobs. I dont agree with this because fiat will be there in future in some form. Crypto based salaries will vary depending on how much an average person needs to spend in order to live - but again the valuation comes from fiat.
