I think it's a no brainer that mobile devices are now popular and being used the most because they are now cheaper and much powerful than a standard personal computer. Do you mean the casino may intentionally publish a malicious app to hack your device or that apps are less secure than websites? If it's the former then you can protect yourself by only downloading apps from reliable casinos and from official sources.
