Three pages of response so far. As a merit source you must be a good reader. Just asking by any chance have you missed the topic "Should Ratimov be in DT1?" where you were mentioned many times?

Regarding the recent reputation board issue:

I didn't miss the thread. I read it (and all the other threads concerning the topic) a few days ago and acted to what I thought would be best (just see the DT changes on my account). Even though I haven't commented, I follow such issues closely and, as a DT1 member, adjust my list as I see fit. However, I hope that we can now close this topic in this application thread. As it is quite off-topic here.

Fun Fact: Your application falls on the same anniversary as my registration date here in the forum. Yesterday I celebrated my 4th anniversary. Lets hope that it won't take that long, at least for ur merit source application

OP I do not know you, but it’s better for you to be a meritsourcer than for icopress which is be up to its neck in competitions

I am voting for bullrun2024bro, because he doesn't try to sit on two chairs at once. This means that he is not a greedy person and will be a generous and adequate meritsourcer

I think it should take the following as a rule: the less well-known a candidate for meritsourcing is, the more preference should be given to him in considering his application for meritsourcing. This is at least some kind of decentralization

How unrelated. Being an organizer for a contest has nothing to do with corruption and merit source status. If you have something to show as to why someone must not become a source, you can show it, but going after someone for unknown personal reasons is not good, besides OP, is asking for local board, if German section has enough sources, he won't get accepted. But nevertheless it doesn't make him less worthy for a thank you, at least he is a man standing for what is right, he doesn't favour his compatriots blindly.

That beeing said, there are currently a few users who are waiting quite a long time for their application to be approved. All of them deserve it in my opinion!

bullrun20234bro, The year 2024 is the same as your name for sure this year's is the luckiest year for you, hoping that you get your all goals and also hoping that theymos will approve your application , anyways there are many merit applications still in pending  maybe theymos will choose this year's.
And like what you said above all the applicants deserve to be given a chance to become a merit source. Still support your application.

Yep, you're right the current situation is quite disappointing, however I guess there isn't much we can do.

I support bullrun2024bro's application as merit source. With @qwk rather inactive and currently @1miao also with quite reduced activity the German local section would benefit from another merit source. Let's hope that there's some progress here in the not so far future.

As he has stated, the 2 biggest merit sources in our section are inactive and we can actually feel it in the merit distribution.

Isn't there a way to push this application so it finally get's moved forward somehow?

I often wonder what Theymos's thoughts are on the state of the merit system, because he's been absolutely silent on the topic for years unless I missed one of his infrequent posts in Meta.  If those two merit source members are inactive then the German board really ought to have at least one of them replaced.  I haven't checked their profiles, but did they just disappear?  I thought I saw something from 1miau not so long ago.

And aside from any local boards, o_e_l_e_o is gone and probably others as well.  This might be a shot-in-the-dark suggestion, but maybe you should try PMing Theymos about your application.  When I wanted a name change and then started bitching about it in various threads, he told me via PM that I should have been persistent in reminding him.  I don't know if he's seeing this thread or not, but it couldn't hurt to contact him directly.

I would like to see many new things for the forum, because there are very important functions missing that others offer and the competition is taking away many newbies. We are all behind such an advanced technology as Bitcoin and in the forum very smart people deal with various complex topics, but unfortunately our forum simply looks backward to the outside world because simple important functions are missing and the layout does not correspond to what is expected in 2024.

Then there are even simpler, less complicated things like merit sources that are simply not appointed. I doubt it would take more than 10 minutes to appoint bullrunbro. A quick check of his profile and all the referrals should be enough, then it probably wouldn't take 2 minutes but nothing is done and I really wonder why?

The merit system is really great, but even the best watch in the world wouldn't work if just one little gear broke. You also have to pay attention to the small details.
