Has anyone here noticed that BlueWallet supports over 50 languages, including Chinese and Portuguese? I've also noticed that local languages are also supported in version 7.2.6, which I'm using.
This makes it easier for me to understand each available feature. Please check if your local language is also supported.
I found this on the Twitter account @bluewalletio.
Hope this helps.
I didn't know trat, now that I've seen it and indeed it supports 52 languages in total, I usually leave it as English, but some wallets configure the language according to the device's default.

BlueWallet has also updated the icons that appear in the settings, it's much more modern and beautiful now.

English is common, and most wallet users prefer it because it's easier to understand, even though not all users are native English speakers.
By offering language options like BlueWallet's, it makes it easier for users to use their local language, even though the available local languages may not be 100% complete.
However, I feel that adding more than 50 languages would be much easier.

I never paid attention to its language section, but seeing that back in 2020, they fixed the scan button for the Russian language [v5.4.0], it makes me believe local languages might have always been part of the app.

By offering language options like BlueWallet's, it makes it easier for users to use their local language, even though the available local languages may not be 100% complete.
You're right, but if I were in their position, I wouldn't have released a language that isn't fully translated!
- Luckily, there's a way for us to contribute: Bluewallet localization

I have never checked. I always preferred to keep all my software on the default English language. It's always been the standard for me. I have never used a phone in my native language and all my electronic devices are always configured to be in English. I feel like English is the original and everything else is a copy of worse quality. I don't like reading translated English books in my native language or watching dubbed movies.

Good commitment, because GUI translations are sometimes so awful that you can easily make mistakes. As for BlueWallet, I stopped using it because having too many wallets to follow can really sidetrack you, especially now when new wallets appear almost every day and you feel the need to test them to eventually choose the best one. That said, from my experience BlueWallet is the good option for every bitcoiner.

I don't really like doing that either. I don't like experimenting with things I consider valuable. My bitcoin falls into that category. I prefer sticking with software that I have seen that are working. If they are working and are offering everything I need, I don't go around trying other things just for the sake of testing. It's a different matter if I am actively searching for something better because a tool I used in the past has let me down.

- Luckily, there's a way for us to contribute: Bluewallet localization
Not only do they support over 50 languages, but they’ve also taken the initiative to invite anyone who wants to help improve the language entries for each country via the shared link.
Only 7 out of 89 languages have reached 100%, and those 7 languages are Polish, Korean (South Korea), Czech (Czech Republic), Chinese (China), Spanish (Latin America), Japanese (Japan), and Faroese.
German and Russian are nearly 100%—or already at 99%—according to that link.
This means it will take time for all languages to fully reach 100%.

I noticed this on Bluewallet today, I can not see the fee I used on the transaction details/history directly on the wallet. I make a transaction with 0.5 sat/vbyte, but I wanted to know again if the fee on the transaction details is 5 say/vbtye but I did not see it.

What I saw on the transaction details are input addresses, output addresses, transaction ID, the input and output counts, and the link of the transaction to a mempool.space website. I did not see the transaction fee that I used unless I click on the link to take me to mempool.space to see the fee that I used.

I think it would be better if the transaction fee can be seen on Bluewallet transaction details directly without going to another site before seeing it. I can easily see it on a wallet like Electrum.

I've been using Blue Wallet for years, it was the only wallet available for iOS at the time that had advanced features only found in Android wallets and I never noticed this when making a transaction.

Anyway, they've already announced a new UI with a renewed look, showing more details like the transaction network fee, number of transactions and available UTXOs (coins). They published this on X today: https://x.com/bluewalletio/status/2049485551355482521

the new version 8.0.0 is now available for download in the apple and android app stores for their respective mobile devices!
you can find both links at: https://bluewallet.io/
unfortunately, the new version isn't available on GitHub yet, but it looks very promising with various new features such as:
  • new screens for: wallet, wallet details, receive and search
  • performance improvements
  • faster connection to electrum
  • and more...

as soon as the github changelog for version 8.0.0 is published, i'll post it here!

edit: here we go: https://github.com/BlueWallet/BlueWallet/releases/tag/v8.0.0

They claimed that the startup time was greatly improved, but I didn’t really notice it probably because my smartphone is around ten years old and very slow on its own.

Quick glance made me think this update will  have very little impact on my routine with BlueWallet.

There is a noticable change on the the Bluewallet update.

I like this update, thanks to Bluewallet developers.

I think Bluewallet developers are reading this thread because my complaint has been solved.

This is the complaint:

If you click on the transaction --> advance. It has been solved. I can see my transaction fee on the wallet directly without checking the blockchain explorer.

Solved:

They claimed that the startup time was greatly improved, but I didn’t really notice it probably because my smartphone is around ten years old and very slow on its own.
If it was before on my phone, it will take 21 seconds before the wallet open but it is taking 15 seconds now. People that did not take note before may still see it like how it was before because 15 seconds is still slow if compared to Electrum that is taking me 5 seconds, but I do not mind the 15 seconds with the Dimensity 7200 cheapest on my phone. But it will open faster on higher phones using faster chipset like Snapdragon 8 elite gen 5, Dimensity 9500 or Apple A19 Pro.

May be a fortunate coincidence since its related Pull Request was already posted a few months before your previous reply.
It's posted on February with sample screenshots similar to what it looks like in the latest version, but it's only fully merged on May.

Here's for reference: feat: Redesign txdetail [#8289]

But maybe they're reading the thread, we'll never know.

BlueWallet was elevated to v8.0.1.

Overall, it's mainly a feature and polish release that doesn't touch security but slightly improves privacy by adding the option to redact push notification content. It adds an iOS 26 "Liquid Glass" visual redesign, lets you import Unchained JSON files as a multisig cosigner, and adds BC-UR v2 air-gapped QR scanning support for hardware wallets like OneKey and Keystone.

 It also fixes numerous bugs.

This is very good, Bluewallet is one of the wallets that I enjoy most, both the wallet and Electrum are my best mobile wallet, but what I do not like about Bluewallet is still the fee estimation which I do see at 3 sat/vbyte even when the memory pool is suggesting 1 sat/vbyte or lower fee estimation. I do not use the wallet fee estimation, I use the one on the memory pool, but some people can be novice about it.

Just like mempool.space, Blue Wallet has different priority levels. Right now as I am writing this, mempool.space is also recommending 4 sat/vByte for a high and 2 sat/vByte for a medium priority transaction. It's been more than 20 mins since the last block and high priority means that it should be included in the next mined block. Overpaying is ok if that's your goal. Regardless of what any software recommends, it's a good idea to take a look at third-party sources like mempool.space or Johoe's Bitcoin Mempool before deciding how much you want to pay in network fees.

For what it's worth, this depends on the server that your BlueWallet is using at that time.

It relies on Electrum protocol RPC: blockchainEstimateFee which is fetched from an Electrum server.
It's closer to "ETA" in Electrum, while mempool.space is same as "mempool" in Electrum's fee slider.

It's not necessarily overshooting the fee rate BTW, it's just has additional algorithm that estimates the previous blocks and mempool to guess the if it'll need more than the current mempool-suggested fee rate.
But estimate isn't prediction so, it's not 100% accurate.

Has anyone here noticed that BlueWallet supports over 50 languages, including Chinese and Portuguese? I've also noticed that local languages are also supported in version 7.2.6, which I'm using.
This makes it easier for me to understand each available feature. Please check if your local language is also supported.
I have never checked. I always preferred to keep all my software on the default English language.

I prefer to use older wallets like BlueWallet or Electrum when I have to store my Bitcoin. I don't see any reason to abandon the old wallet unless you see any good feature in new wallets and I am sure it's hard to find any new feature that these old wallets don't already have.

So what is the reason of not using the Blue Wallet? I would like to know which Bitcoin wallet you prefer over BlueWallet?

I don’t think there is any place on the thread that Pmalek actually said he wasn’t using BlueWallet or doesn’t prefers it, this reply quoted was to actually answer satscraper who said he doesn’t want many wallets and that is reason for not using blue wallet and not actually something bad about the wallet. Pmalek is providing guides here on BlueWallet which signifies he actually uses it.

For your question which bitcoin wallet to use you need to actually specify for the device you need it for, if it is for desktop there some variety of options but the electrum Wallet which has been here and reputable for long is available. If it’s a mobile wallet then there are choices between electrum and BlueWallet but I personally prefer the BlueWallet for mobile because it has/had more features than electrum for me

Cake wallet seems to be a pretty good open source wallet with quite a few features, too.

There are some other open source software wallets (or I think that they are open source?) listed on Wallets recovery: https://walletsrecovery.org/#wallet-cakewallet
