Well, if such strategy or lifestyle would work on you, that's great. But to dome people, they prefer working or being an employee because that gives them an adsured or stable income. While others prefer being a worker and an investor at the same time. We just cannot blame them. I had the same view when I was studying. I thought finishing a degree would guarantee me a higher salary but it turned out that most opportunities nowadays hire based on your skills and not just on your degree and they offer higher salaries than office jobs. Having a title couldn't guarantee us a high salary but pride and security but acquiring more skills will be an advantage in our society where the competition is getting higher these days.

The trend is distributed and not all the ventures are crypto based. As someone in the medical field versed with handling electronic health records, I employed my skills and experience to the test and tried to market myself in the said field. Currently I have a client (a doctor) who requires me to work for 20 hours a week, at a rate of $35 per hour encoding patient records and/or setting up appointments for the said doctor. It is a very light work, and allows me to earn $2500+ on top of my base salary (hah, much lower than this 'side gig'). Even my colleagues are on the hunt for clients, trying their luck in freelancing just like I did.

With the soaring prices of everything in this day and age, a second job or any side gigs is a must. If I can have more time in a day, I'd honestly enter the dropshipping business too, but I already have too much in my plate (60+ hours a week). Even more, if I could bring the lab into my house, I'd never go out anymore unless I want to and I have to. Tons of side gigs/hustles allow people to be at the comfort of their home without sacrificing the quality of their work. If other companies can outsource their company processes remotely, why can't other companies do it and cut costs in managing a property housing their operations?

But yeah, side hustles are aplenty out there. You just have to have your niche and be good at it, and hopefully get quit your regular job and just stay at home all day long.

I am not well informed about the laws in the United States but I see a problem about being a freelancer at full time and the fact this could become the new standard.
Do freelancers even receive benefits which hired workers are supposed to have by law?

In my opinion you are not mistaken and such a problem really exists. 

It is beneficial for companies to cooperate with freelancers registered as individual entrepreneurs.

Nowadays, working remotely has been the norm and this might have encouraged a lot of employees to leave their jobs and become a freelancer instead. That way, he will have more time for his own family, and freely engage himself in a job where can be more interested to in which he can gain unlimited profits depending on his skills and capabilities to attract a lot of sales. But I believe being a freelancer is not easy after all since you have to exert more effort especially if you are still a beginner and would want to prove something to the people whom you will be your future clients.

If the job pays well and we like what we’re doing we will be able to adjust in every situation, I have knew some people who decide not to return at office and just quit to keep their doing side hustles. There are many ways that can help us earn more without committing 8hrs or more in one job unless it compensate or pay as well. At this time many earns more thru online works, some into virtual works, online selling, some are bloggers and others are into trading. This comes with option of working anywhere we want. Though, office jobs guarantees us to have our payment monthly some online side hustles may not pay enough for what we need or might be gone at the least expected time.

Living in Turkey, this is a bit easier to do actually. Considering our minimum wage is under 300 dollars, and a decent life starts at around 1000 dollars a month, that is not a lot of money to make. bigger than that.Its true that we've been battling out with these non stop increasing of goods and services when it comes to their prices which do really sucks on living on this way.

This is why it would really be just sensible that you would really be finding other sources which would make you able to survive this nonstop recession and inflation.
If you are really just contented on having able to eat 3x a day and wont really be going beyond the borders then its up to your own choice but this isnt something a life that you should

this i believe is one of our learnings during the height of covid pandemic. not to stick with one job as you will be left no other options to survive if suddenly it stops giving you source of living. this is why, we should always find a way how to look for other side jobs that may possibly assist us in time of crisis. we can't rely from government's aid as we don't know when it will arrive. much better if you feel you are always self-sufficient at any point.
