Nearly all threads involve some price discussion.

At least on the bitcoin side, you can find some interesting technical discussion in
Bitcoin Forum > Bitcoin > Development & Technical Discussion

I wish there was something similar for altcoins, where no price or investment discussion was allowed...

There are lot others are being discussed in altcoin discussion board too apart from the speculation but mostly you may relate a thread with price dump or bump but if you want more technical discussion then you can go with the childboards but some threads related to altcoins were discussed in B&H section because the thread creator thought there won't be appropriate reply if its created in altcoin discussion board.

indeed it becomes apparent gambling because because of predicting it without basis and with minimal information that we can we tell people the best coins . it's the same that we engage someone to buy what we buy that is not necessarily an equal or definite profit.

We have Service Discussion (Altcoins), Service Announcements (Altcoins) and Mining (Altcoins) where technical discussions about altcoins are happening. Also, there's the Announcements (Altcoins) if needs to be specific talking about a project's technicality.

Yes, Ops should check and explore all the boards in Alternate cryptocurrencies so he can find threads that can fit his criteria to be discussed or made by himself, but the boards and threads that discuss prices and projects are more in demand so that the threads that discuss technical and others are drowned.

He probably hasn't visited the other sections and that's why he's curious about it. He can bring up a lot of discussion to any of those sections where he's interested in bringing technical discussions that he wants to know or might want to share.

I want to see a low volume Altcoin technical Discussion, just like the one for Bitcoin.

I think to start out, go to the mining section for altcoins and that's where I think is a good place to start. Otherwise, try to check the other sections that I've said where it's possible to discuss technical things about altcoins.

@OP, If you want to discuss technical matters in an altcoins, you can initiate a discussion regarding it on this board by creating a topic.

I certainly could. But with technical discussions making up less than 1% of the volume here, they become very hard to pick out. I only visit this board once a while, and have no hope of quickly identifying the few technical threads that do not discuss price and investment (which are completely boring to me).

I don't think the demand for altcoin technical discussion is enough to open up a new board or child board. I discussed some technical discussion here, but the thread was short-lived, and some of the thread itself is buried over other many threads that are encouraging spamming.

I even doubt there is a plenty amount of members that discuss altcoin technical topics on this forum, an altcoin technical discussion seems more favoured on another forum.

Many people talking about new crypto projects here within on this forum, so don't be surprised if you see some altcoins discussions even in other sections and threads .  its very common coz there are some users that came up from such topic even the title of the thread is different from what they're talking.. Lol

Well only thing you can do right now is to is show us the way and be an example instead wishing that from others.

Start your own threads about altcoins that are not about price but more on the technical side. And if you want to tune out that price talk even more you could make those threads self moderated (which i don't recommend) with the rule of "no price talk".

However sometimes incentives and inflation etc are important to talk about when we talk about game theory of tokenomics in staking/mining. Because that's important part of security. So maybe those threads shouldn't have absolute rules on that

But i totally understand your point. I think that many people would enjoy such threads while most people in here are not equipped to comment in them.

This is a Bitcoin forum mate, how can you expect that we will have more sections or topics to discuss on various factors about the altcoins? Moreover if you see 90% of the total members here in the forum are interested to discuss about Bitcoins, rather than about some shitty altcoins. If you want to discuss about any particular altcoin, then go to twitter and battle over there. You should be grateful that atleast you have a sub section here, and when possible people are sharing opinions here on the coins. Enjoy what you got and don’t complain bro.

I tjink that this forum has provided several boards that are enough for having the discussions on each board. Not most of them are price prediction. We will see different threads in different board. As we know that if someone is posting something in certain board and it is not suitable with the board, moderator or the OP itself will move the thread to the appropriate board.

Here, if we can see, this forum has growingly spreading more information, discussions, focus, development, sharing experiences and more. Not only about price prediction.

Service discussion (Altcoins) this is similar like Bitcoin discussion and Service discussion in global board, which is discuss about a website.

Service announcements (Altcoins) is just similar like Service in global board where many users post their service and this has nothing to do with Altcoins development.

Mining (Altcoins) it's a technical discussion to mine altcoins, it's different with Altcoins development.

Announcements (altcoins) seriously you say it's technical? it's full of spam where people just post unimportant news in order to fill quota post.

There are still some interesting discussions that still happen here, also Bitcoin is one out of the many cryptocurrencies, and this forum is mostly about bitcoins and not altcoins, it has only included an altcoin side for accommodation and necessity and has enough boards for all things about altcoins to be discussed. I personally do not see any reason having a special board for discussions about development and technical discussions for altcoins, when the numbers of altcoins are never ending.

I am guessing that altcoin discussion is open for altcoin price speculation a bit right? I mean that is what the whole point is, there are other topics, economics, speculation, bitcoin discussion even where you could go and talk about just purely bitcoin and surrounding things.

But, if you want to make sure that there is a good chance that we could not see any type of altcoin price discussions here because it is altcoin discussion section of the forum then it should make sense to you as well. I am not saying that is just what it is, we talk about new or old coins and tokens as well, and discuss how they are doing but price is priority in most cases to people.

All kinds of cryptos are being talked about here whether it is old or new and there are even talks for non cryptos like for example fiat money and other assets. There is no problem with that as long as they are being placed on the proper section but if not, I think mods are also doing it for the op of those threads so I salute those active mods who are doing their jobs very well.

For those newbies, it will be better if they read more first than creating a topic so that they can avoid mistakes and end up spamming the forum. The title of the thread should match with the body of the message so that it doesn't mislead the readers and the thread won't be moved in the trash can.

There are other interesting topics on altcoins you should just find it and engage with it. Yes there are other topics that arent worth our time and majority were repeated one and has been talked about in the past. But if you are an altcoin fan, you easily dind it easy to find out an interesting one since youll be updated on whats hot on altcoins. Comparing to bitcoin, there are more altcoins so expect that a lot of subject or new projects has been introduced or talk about in this section.

I think the price discussion is done in the speculation subforum on this forum. But some people may consider altcoins dissussion to mean all of them are altcoins even if it's priced. I guess that actually makes this sub forum off-topic even though it's not far off but less relevant to the name of the sub forum.

Indeed in this forum have several specific board and all member discussing about their opinion based on board topic, I think not matter in this board most dominance by discussing altcoin based on the boar name Altcoin Discussion. You can move to Bitcoin Discussion if not excited with Altcoin discussion, there you can discussing about Bitcoin price and update news in daily day.

Not prohibited for disallowed for discussing with altcoin in this board, but possibility in altcoin speculation board for discussing about altcoin, depend with your self if want stay here you can active in topic without discussing about altcoin, many board or topic left have another discussing topic except with altcoin.

Most people here only see altcoins on the potential profit that it can give them but not really see the possible technical application of alts on whatever it is that they want to get done. Not everyone thinks as a developer, most people think only as an investor and that stops there. I can't blame them though, most alts are not that interesting and are mostly rehashes of a previous altcoin that has been buried already a long, long time ago. I personally am not a hardcore altcoin enthusiast, but I do know how to appreciate a good alt (in terms of practical application and technicality) when I see one.
