I wouldn't be so fast as to consider a website spam, just because it now shows a popup, you know, just exit it, one click, however, if it were a stingy piece of popup, the kind that you need to click around and check boxes and shit, now that would have been really irritating.

Also, I am not sure if I got the exact popup that you did, but the ones that show up (as I checked) were accomplished through widget, div, meaning it is native on the website, that can also mean it is something that no adblocker is able to block.

Okay ! Thanks for all the inputs ppl. I switched over to Firefox, problem solved ! But just in case, I installed uBlock Origin, enabled it and no problems so far.
Went back to Chrome,  the pop up issue still happening !, the AdBlock extension did nothing to fix it, in fact... i run the trial version to see if it worked, and when it didn't
I stopped using it. So now I get the AdBlock Ad Pop Up spamming me every 5 seconds ! Nice !

I'd hate to have to remove Chrome from my laptop, but what other choice do I have now ? I already removed the AdBlock extension from Chrome and
the damn pop up is still there, rearing its ugly head on every page I browse !

What you are seeing is Total AdBlock, and it seems that some others have or had a similar problem with removal. Look again in plugins and check if you really removed that plugin, then check in Add/Remove Programs of your operating system (I assume you are using Windows) and if the program is listed there, remove it. Also, check in Chrome settings if these pop-ups are blocked.

Well, the ad blocker was originally an extension so I checked and it is removed. Also not listed as a program separately , checked Control Panel.
I guess if the problem persists I will do a fresh install of Chrome.

Literally EVERY SINGLE TIME I go into Coin Gecko now I get this annoying popUp

How to stop it ?

I got Total AdBlock Chrome extension ( I think it's free for 24 hours ) and it seemed to work SOMETIMES, not always, in fact... I'm pretty sure I still got the Coin Gecko PopUp a few times right after I added Total AdBlock.
I'm now thinking just switching to Coin Market Cap to avoid this incredibly annoying popUP, only problem is Coin Market Cap won't let me display the token value in other currencies, only in US Dollars. I find that potentially more annoying than the Pop Up...  Huh

Why are you annoyed by this? Coin gecko is literally showing you the future here, it means that Bitcoin will one day be 100,000$  Grin Grin Grin, the best less painful ad blocker I know is uBlock Origin, I haven't seen any problem using this ad-blocker so far.

Sounds like a malicious extension, op. Be careful on what you install. I suggest going to online communities first to see what people have to say about it in case you're not sure about a particular extension.

Back to your problem, have you tried finding its ID and removing the corresponding extension folder? see: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-find-id-for-chrome-extension/

Otherwise, you may have to reinstall your chrome. I suggest deleting the chrome folder in your 'appdata/local' before installing again.

He must immediately check and remove suspicious chrome plugins, bad plugins are very dangerous when we explore or use the chrome browser as the main access for internet users because some of the code that is made can record copy-paste typed in the browser, I often use wallet access on the browser chrome so make sure to download official chrome and no harmful plugins.
