A single player ot two players cannot win the world cup when there are countries with strong players in their first eleven and their bench. The problem of Ronaldo unable to win the world cup is because of the country he is from. They don't have the players that it takes to join force with Ronaldo in order for Portugal to win the world cup.

It was in the last world cup that Messi was able to break the curse after playing in several world cup, and he didn't do it all alone. France also have great players, if Portugal players have improved their performance and take the world cup competition a do or die affair, maybe they can win it next season. I doubt if such thing will happen.

This is perhaps the biggest failure of Cristiano Ronaldo, he is unable to change players and win the World Cup trophy. If Portugal had players like France, Brazil, Spain, England, then Portugal would have won the World Cup trophy by now. But what still gives hope to me is that a team like Morocco played in the semi-finals of the last World Cup, but Portugal can certainly show them well with this team. In the last world cup we saw cristiano ronaldo being intentionally benched by the manager for several matches i think it is disrespectful to ronaldo if that doesn't happen in 2026 world cup then he should participate again in 2026 world cup. If a player who has single-handedly done so much for the team has to be humiliated at the last moment, it could not be worse.

A lot of controversy is ongoing after Qatar won the world cup qualifying match against India by a margin of 2-1. India were leading by 1-0, after Lallianzuala Chhangte scored a goal in 37th minute. However Qatar equalized in 73rd minute. As per replays, it was clear that the ball has gone out of play, but the referee awarded the goal to Qatar. And then Ahmed Al-Rawi scored another goal for Qatar to put them ahead by a margin of 2-1. If India had drawn this match, then they could have qualified for the next stage.

Yes ,Qatar football team played very well and won the match very easily. Qatar team score was greater than Indian team and Indian team score was only 1 goal but Qatar team played excellent in this match. Now the position of Qatar is very strong and they will qualify easily for next round. Now the points of Qatar are 16 and in the comparison,the points of Indian team are 5 . The shots of Qatar team were  18 and from which 8 were on target but shots of Indian team were only 9 and from which only 2 shots were on target.The passes of Qatar team were 474 and that was good performance and the passes of Indian team were only 390 . That is big reason of lose of Indian team . Indian team played very bad in last 30 minutes of the game.

If you followed the games they played recently, you should know Qatar recently won the Asia Cup and this is why the other teams like Japan, South Korea, and Iran couldn't do that during this year. This means the investment they had for Qatar was working so far and this made Qatar to get improve a lot. If you check this team you know there are some non-Qatari players who are paid to play for this team and live their lives there in Qatar.
But still, even after spending this huge amount of money, Qatar could never good results in the World Cup.

We all know that FIFA is actually not that much interested in the players being healthy if they can actually get some more money doing some certain things. The schedule is definitely not one that actually keeps the health of the players in mind. They definitely could have done better. Messi has just said Inter Miami would be his last team to play for. But as far as I know he hasn't made any statement on his national career yet. I hope we can see him also in next World Cup together with Ronaldo.    Ronaldo has also stated that he doesn't have long years ahead of him to play football. It is obvious next World Cup would be the most optimistic tournament to see them both for one last time.

Anyway there is still a long time for European qualifiers to start I guess. Now we have Euro 2024 right ahead. After that I would start thinking about the qualifiers.

Portugal opportunity to become World Cup champions is very open, because they have quality players in their squad, and that is very possible. However, if you look at the current facts, Portugal is in 6th place in the FIFA rankings, which means that Portugal has to work hard if it has the ambition to win the 2026 World Cup trophy. This ambition is not only limited to Ronaldo, because all players also want the same thing, regardless of Ronaldo rivalry with Messi. Not all players are lucky, even though Ronaldo failed to win the World Cup trophy during his career, everyone should respect him as one of the best players in the world.

On the other hand, personally I doubt that Ronaldo will be able to appear at the 2026 World Cup, maybe EURO 2024 this time will be his last event for the Portuguese national team. Did you manage to pull off this trick today in the Italy - Albania game? This was exactly the case, I did not watch the quotes live, but it is obvious that in the first 20 minutes they made two sharp reversals.

I think we should wait for the Euro Cup to pass to judge Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo's performance... The Euro Cup is almost starting and coach Roberto Martínez has already released Portugal's squad list for the competition (almost a month ago ). My opinion is that with the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo on the list, the Portuguese team is one of the favorites for the title, alongside Spain, France, England and Germany (obviously).

Even though his physical performance is still admirable for his age, let's see how Ronaldo will perform in this championship and then judge his possible performance at the 2026 World Cup.

I do not understand how they can just directly say that Russia is not going to participate in the World Cup but hesitate about Israel. They are literally committing genocide. Ukraine actually have the support of the USA and other big countries and also getting support in terms of military aid and other aid as well. However the Palestinian people are being deprived of basic human rights. Israel is literally killing children and civilians by targeting children and civilians. It's not like they are trying to kill military personnel and the civilian deaths are just the casualties. No, they are literally targeting and killing babies. The game between Indonesia and Philippines finished with a clear victory for Indonesia by two goals to zero scored in both halves and Indonesia will remain second.
Iraq will stay in the first position and Vietnam third regardless of today's game result. This match is not that important for Iraq when I see how good they did previously in the group.

Indonesia team won due to great performance. The Indonesia team players were in good form and they won easily. Ramadhani did first goal of the match and he did brilliant goal and he bent the match to their sides. He did goal in the  56 minutes and Haye did second goal of the match  but Philippines team could not do any single goal. I think Philippines state is not interested in Football and they didn't gave opportunity to big  players to play in this tournament.  Phillipines state should work on this and they should select team on merit and if things did properly ,they will play in the  Cup , otherwise they will be eliminated. Hopefully FIFA can set the same rules, without making distinctions or in other words without using double standards. It is reported that FIFA has received several proposals regarding the request to suspend the Israeli national team from any competition, and will follow up and decide on them next July at an extraordinary congress.

If FIFA does not act in the same way towards Israel, their image will be bad in the eyes of the world, and of course the Russian national team will be the disadvantaged here. I think everyone understands this, without exception, sometimes we need to open our eyes, to see the situation fairly. I would much rather see the world cup without it being infected with politics. Every single sporting event now needs to have an opinion about every single geopolitical conflict...

The participants of these sporting events have most probably nothing to do with these geopolitical events, and they just want to participate in a competition.

It would suck to train all your life for something and when it's your time to shine you cannot participate because the government in the place you happen to be a citizen decided something which you have zero control of.

So you are saying that the manager should prioritize Ronaldo happiness or personal ambition over the teams objective? Ronaldo wasn't being helpful to the team at that time, he wasn't playing good. He didn't fit into the tactics and the coach had to do what is necessary for the entire Portugal team and their country. I laugh when people say after everything Ronaldo has done for the team or country. What exactly has he done for them, are they not paying Ronaldo match allowances and bonuses? Is Ronaldo playing for free? The coach is the one that's going to be blamed and possibly face being sacked if he doesn't make the right decision in the bigger stage. Nobody can have it all and that is nature which we can neither fight or control, he ahs been able to win many othe prestigious trophies and he alone can not single handedly get his country to win the world cup, if he could have, there are other factors that needed to play out which isn't there, they need to have a very good squad behind him to give him that covering and enablement to win the trophy so if he has been able to win other prestigious trophies aswell as personal award, I feel he's gotten enough already to really wori too much about not winning the world cup in his career.

The world cup been amongst the trophies a player was able to win in the history of his career brins about a whole lot of prestige which I'm very much aware of but it still doesn't mean that a good player who happens to hail from a country who's got a poor squad will be blamed for not been able to win such a prestigious trophy, to win the world cup, the team needs beyond the strength of a single player to be able to pull that that through so he shouldn't in anyway be blamed, he did his utmost best but wasn't just in the right team, I believe if it were to be like club football where players could be bought, Portugal would have done just that.
