When players like Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior and Endrik are in a team, the team is not a weak team. But if these good players cannot be used properly, it is not possible to get good results. How much Ancelotti can progress in using them well is the key factor. Although there is no doubt that Ancelotti is a great coach, will he be able to bring the Brazilian team to a reliable position in a short time or will he fail? Since the World Cup stage is completely different from club football in general, the coach must think differently because the time is very short.

Most of the time we actually just look at a teams attacking players only and simply regard to that team as a great team, not that I am saying a great team doesn’t have to be with great attacking players but they simply cannot alone make a great team but rather the three departments with other two of midfield and defense has to also compliment thd team too before they call them a great. Yes with this huge attacking prowess Brazil are not a weak team but Brazil doesn’t have the complete team yet because the midfield isn’t one that can compete with that of other top nations, same with the defense and most importantly the team lack togetherness which is the major unlocking key.

Take a look at Argentina, they are now more of a major threat and looks like the most complete national team right now but if we look at the attack now they weren’t better than the 2014 era but they look complete now

Obviously players such as Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo makes the team strong. But how strong? This is not the 1990s, when all the other teams were scared of the Brazilians. Move forward three decades, and you will see a Brazilian team that almost struggled to stay in top-5 in the COBMEBOL qualifiers. Brazil is still a strong team, but other teams have caught up with them. That is why there is no need for arrogance among the players, and they need to strictly unite under Ancelotti if they want to have any chance of winning the world cup in 2026.

At the club level, Ancelotti is a very successful and experienced manager, but everything seems very different when he becomes a national team manager. But, even though Ancelotti performance hasn't been very satisfying so far, he has at least ensured that the Brazilian national team has qualified for the upcoming 2026 World Cup. Speaking of respect, I think all the players in the dressing room highly respect and admire him. Even the legends of the Brazilian national team also highly respect and support him, that is a big advantage. Managing a national team is not as easy as managing a club, but over time, I think Ancelotti will succeed in making Brazil a team to be reckoned with at the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

It's true that Brazil's performance has improved slightly, but I don't think it's enough to prove whether Ancelotti can improve the Brazilian national team. They only finished fifth, below Ecuador, their lowest finish, so there's not much to prove. Even without Ancelotti, they could still qualify if they perform like this. So I still think that Ancelotti won't be able to change the situation of the Brazilian national team that much.
Qualifying for the world cup is enough to see that Ancelotti is already doing well with the team, before he joined them, they were struggling with it and for someone who has done club coaches most part of his coaching career, the switch is not expected to be a perfect one at a goal and that is because the resources he gets at club is not same as that he will be given at countries and he does not have that privilege of been able to buy players the way he does at the club sides.  He may be able to change the situation at Brazil but it will take time as it is a different niche and he has been doing good so far.
As a Brazil fan, I have been completely disappointed with Brazil's performance in the last three seasons. Brazil probably won the last World Cup in 2002 and they have not won the World Cup again since then. Many players have come and gone from the team but the number of Brazil's World Cup trophies has not increased. Although Brazil has given their local manager the responsibility of the team in every World Cup tournament, this time, with the 2026 World Cup in mind, Brazil has planned something different and has relied on an Italian manager instead of their local manager. Yes, Carlo Ancelotti is a great manager and he has a record of managing many big clubs in the past and has been successful managing many big clubs, so it is expected that Brazil will do well under him in the 26th World Cup.
I would like to see Brazil until the final of the 26th World Cup, if they fail to qualify for the final, then at least they can qualify for the semi-finals.

The truth is that national football is a generational based success. Each generation comes with their stars and that is what happened to Brazil. It also affects every team, Spain lifted their last in 2010 due to the squad they had and doesn't seem to hope for another anytime soon. It happens in every game even down to Continental qualifications. Back in the days, Nigeria and Ghana would always qualify first but here they are, still struggling. I am not a fan of Brazil but I love Carlo Anceloti which is the reason I would support the team this period.

The Anceloti effect has already begun with their recent qualification. Let's watch what the game brings and I know that even though they don't lift the trophy, they won't leave the tournament earliest that the semi finals.

I think that with Carlo Ancelotti there is every chance that this team will go very far in the competition, they are strong, they are fully aware of their abilities and you will see that they will play some splendid matches, you certainly cannot complain about the fact that you have not won anymore, Italy has not even qualified for 2 tournaments in a row, what should we say Grin

There was nothing like corruption in the World Cup match between Argentina and Saudi Arabia.  If you watched the match you would have known that sometimes luck plays some role in sports.  Argentina was the better side in all ramifications but they couldn't score more than one goal. The Saudi team did a good defensive job that deprived the superstars in the Argentine team of the chance to score.

Anyway, we can also say that since it was the first game of the tournament, teams have not mastered their style of play.  As they played more games, the Argentina side became better and ended up winning the World Cup.
Yes, it's true, but that tournament seems anything but regular, let's say that there was help, I'm one of those who believes that Argentina was helped to win the World Cup by the host nation, and that Mbappe almost broke the script, but he didn't make it.

the truth is that things have also changed since there is no longer the hunger of the past, the Brazilian players were very strong, but so strong that they scared everyone, now they are multi-millionaires and no longer have the strong motivations of the past, football has changed and they have changed too

the truth is that things have also changed since there is no longer the hunger of the past, the Brazilian players were very strong, but so strong that they scared everyone, now they are multi-millionaires and no longer have the strong motivations of the past, football has changed and they have changed too

One thing in this post that I can agree on. The first time I watched the FIFA World Cup was in 1998, when the tournament was hosted by France. At that time, Brazil was a nightmare to other teams. They had legendary players such as Roberto Carlos, Edmundo, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Zé Roberto, Marcelo Gonçalves and Denílson. Even the hosts were scared of them. On the other hand, now Brazil has become the laughing stock of football world. Neymar gets injured whenever he represents the national team, and they ends up losing to teams such as Cameroon.

Brazilian players perform well for different clubs, if the situation were such that Brazilian players are not doing well, then even if they bring a good manager, Brazil could not really expect anything good, but since the players perform well for other clubs, it means that the manager failed to use the players well. Now the manager who has taken charge of Brazil is a very experienced and very sharp manager, so he can definitely take the Brazilian team to a good level in the 2026 World Cup. Now the job of this manager is to observe every player of Brazil well and after the observation, arrange the World Cup team with good players. Whenever they can announce the team with good players, they can plan the World Cup matches and perform well.

I'm sorry but where are all the Asian and African teams that are quickly growing? The only teams from those continents that have been getting consistent results are Japan and South Korea. Then sometimes there is Ivory Coast, sometimes it's Ghana, last time it was Morocco but usually all these teams get good results for one or two World Cups, after that they disappear again because the golden generation is gone. Where are now Nigeria, Camerun, Egypt, etc?
And, again, allowing 1 team each 4 to qualify is just ridiculous, the World Cup is not a competition for the best teams anymore, it's just a huge tournament with a bunch of useless matches until the knockout stage. Clearly all this is made because FIFA wants to make as much money as possible, they don't care about the teams.
How many upsets we had in the 2022 edition? I don't remember the exact number, but they were far more frequent than any of the previous editions. And in most cases, the upsets were done by the Asian/African teams, and the European or Latin American teams were on the receiving end. Saudi Arabia managed to defeat Argentina early on, by a margin of 2-1. This was done by a rapidly improving Asian team, not by Japan/Korea. Asian team Australia managed to defeat both Danmark and Tunisia in Group D. Germany was knocked out of the second stage by Japan. Same happened to Belgium, after they lost to Morocco. How many more examples do you need?
So let's check case by case:
- Saudi Arabia beat Argentina in the first match, ok, and before and after that what did they achieve? For you winning one game is enough to describe Saudi Arabia as "a rapidly improving Asian team"? I repeat, ONE game. The can't even win the Asian Cup...
- Australia is part of Oceania, just because they play the Asian qualification doesn't mean they are an Asian team. Or do you think Australian people are Asian?
- Morocco played a huge World Cup back in 2022 but, again, it happened once. They have to keep getting results.

I asked about consistency, and I don't see any among the teams you mentioned. When (and if) we'll have 3-4 Asian teams and 3-4 African teams consistently getting good results through several World Cups then we can talk about it again but if for you all these "rapidly improving teams" actually won a single match or played a great World Cup for once in their life I don't know what to say. Leicester won the Premier League but that doesn't mean they are among the best English team, does it? It's the same with the national teams, just because you surprise the world once doesn't mean you're at the same level as Argentina or Spain.

This is literally the first time Ancelotti is managing a national team. I think this area also needs some experience. Handling a national team has its own differences than a club. You are trying to handpick the best options from the pool full of tons of players from that nation.

For now I can't say Brazil have had a great performance under his management. But he should be given time. It is only 4 official matches and they have already secured their place in the next World Cup.
exactly, it's the first time he's leading a national team and it can't be easy for him to go and select the best players to try to win, then in Brazil where there are a lot of strong players who can make the difference, I certainly wouldn't want to be in his shoes.
But come on, I Understand what you're saying, but do you think it's a good thing to leave Neymar out of the national Team without calling him up? Do you really think so? Did you notice how he played Against Bolivia ? If the World Cup qualifiers had gone like they did before, Brasil would have had to go to the playoffs That's what you must be thinking now.

I cannot forget such date , it happened on the 2nd December 2022 when Brazil played against Cameroon and I was already scared for the Cameroonian players considering the caliber of team they were playing against. The brazil team has a combination of trailblazers as players making waves on different levels across their respective clubs and leagues but when they came together to work, their performances does not corroborate with the big name they command. I am so disappointed with Brazil on that day also noting the cameroon player at a tine was even playing one man down, yet Brazil couldn’t performed. I read some people complaining recently about Neymah not being allowed to play games but it is difficult to do so because he has recently been a fan of many injuries across many football matches

Vincent Aboubakar scored a goal during the 2nd minute of extra time and then he got a red card after around 60 seconds. Neymar missed out due to injury and the Brazilian attack was left to Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Rodrygo and Antony. And this defeat was after two consecutive wins in their group against Serbia and Switzerland. But in the next match, they whacked South Korea by a massive margin (Neymar came back to the playing XI in this match), only to be knocked out of the tournament by Croatia.

They played very aggressively, it almost seemed like this was the game of their lives. I can add, however, that the goal in the second minute of extra time was a real turn of events.
Never mind the red card, but the opponents were devastated.
Unfortunately, South Korea doesn't have a top-performing team, so it's a shame for them, but when they faced "fighting animals," they were irreparably overwhelmed.

I watched both the matches. Live on television. And I can tell you one thing very clearly. The way both the teams (South Korea and Cameroon) played is very different. Cameroon fought till the last minute, and tried hard for a win (and eventually they got it). On the other hand, the Koreans were overwhelmed and at the most they were trying to get to a decent margin of defeat. We need teams like Cameroon, and that's why I support the expansion of world cup to 48 teams.

Here in Africa the football situation is changing a lot, those great teams of past years are losing their place to other national teams, for example in the specific case of the World Cup qualifying group in which Cameroon is, see what is happening:

https://www.fifa.com/en/tournaments/mens/worldcup/canadamexicousa2026/qualifiers/caf/standings

Cape Verde has 19 points and only 2 games left to complete all group games. This means that if Cape Verde wins their next game, they will qualify for the World Cup, and Cameroon needs to fight to finish in second place to play in the playoff. In my opinion, I think it's very difficult for them to get through the playoff and qualify for the World Cup.

However, if FIFA had included 48 teams, then the first and second placed teams in the group would qualify, and Cameroon wouldn't need to go through the playoff. Unfortunately, FIFA won't do that. In a way, they always end up benefiting the Europeans, who have more teams, while the larger continents are left with few teams.

Here in Africa the football situation is changing a lot, those great teams of past years are losing their place to other national teams
The problem is that I feel like those teams that used to be good are simply getting worse, so everything is being leveled downwards: if we take your example I feel like Cameroon got way worse in the last years, it's not Cape Verde that got incredibly good. Probably they somehow increased their level but nothing crazy. To put this in numbers, just to make an example, we can say that Cameroon used to be a 7 while Cape Verde was a 4, now they are both 5 because Cameroon got worse and Cape Verde slightly improved.

The problem with African football is the consistency: there is no national team that is consistently good for 15-20 years in a row, they usually have a few good years and then they fall down and another team gets the spotlight. I'm not African but I always cheered for Nigeria, and today's players, with a few exceptions, are quite average compared to what they used to be. Ivory Coast, what happened to them? They had a wonderful team back in 2010. Ghana, Cameroon, South Africa, Tunisia, they used to have very good players as well.

Now Morocco may be the best African team but will they last? Where will they be in 10-15 years?

Yes.. Group D looks tough at the moment. Cape Verde have exceeded everyone's expectations and are now expected to finish at the top of the group with just two more games remaining. The fight for the second place will be between Cameroon and Libya. Cameroon performed well in their home matches, but conceded a lot of draws while playing away against weak teams (including those against Angola and Eswatini). Also, although Vincent Aboubakar has been in good form, he is not getting enough support from his team mates.

Group D is really surprising on how it looks after 8 games. Cape Verde is the shock of the town and I didn't see it coming. I have always given Cameron an upper hand in the table. However, there's still a possibility of not topping the table. If Cape Verde should mistakenly loose their last two games while Cameron or Libya wins their remaining games, then Cape Verde may not have the top. The game of football is a team work but people don't seem to understand it. Vincent Abuobakar is in good form but there's no proper usage and he's not getting enough support as you have said. Cameron still has the chance of topping the table if they do things right in the remaining games.

He may not like Neymar personally but rest assured that if Neymar is healthy and if he is injury free then he will definitely get a chance to play in the World Cup. Neymar is a player who can change the course of a game a lot by himself and having Neymar in the team means different thoughts for the opponent and different plans for Neymar. So far, Neymar is the only player in the history of Brazilian players who has the record of scoring the most goals so if he is healthy I don't see any reason to take any other player instead. I saw on social media that Neymar is trying his best to recover from his injury, maybe he will get fit before the World Cup squad is announced and he will be seen playing in the national team jersey for the last time in the 2026 World Cup.
