Group D is really surprising on how it looks after 8 games. Cape Verde is the shock of the town and I didn't see it coming. I have always given Cameron an upper hand in the table. However, there's still a possibility of not topping the table. If Cape Verde should mistakenly loose their last two games while Cameron or Libya wins their remaining games, then Cape Verde may not have the top. The game of football is a team work but people don't seem to understand it. Vincent Abuobakar is in good form but there's no proper usage and he's not getting enough support as you have said. Cameron still has the chance of topping the table if they do things right in the remaining games.

You may not know cape Verde if you're not from any African country and secondly they're not that popular country when it comes to football competition, and they don't regularly appear in the African Cup of Nations and let alone the world cup competition that much, there first Appearance in the FIFA world cup competition was either in 2003 or so. But it's fine they're showcasing this interesting performance in the tournament, and that will definitely prop up their name and ranking in the world of football.

Libia usually dominate the qualifications? I can't even name a single player from Libia, are you sure you're not mixing Libia with another country? I admit I'm not a big expert of African national teams but I've never heard about any achievement from this team. In Northern Africa countries like Morocco and Algeria are way better than Libia. Tunisia also is quite good.

Libia usually dominate the qualifications? I can't even name a single player from Libia, are you sure you're not mixing Libia with another country? It's true, I agree with you. I also think that Libya as a team is not even comparable to Morocco and just like you, I can't recognize a player.

Wait for two more days. The penultimate round will be played on Wednesday, where Cameroon will take on Mauritius, and Cape Verde will play against Libya. At the moment, there is a 4-point gap between these two teams in Group D. In case Cape Verde can maintain this lead to the last round, then it is guaranteed that they will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. For Cameroon, it will mean that they need to play the second round in order to have a chance to do so.

Even though I'm African, my country speaks Portuguese, like Cape Verde. I don't know much about that country. I don't even know what their football league is like. To be honest, I'm wondering how they managed to have a strong national team capable of being close to qualifying for the World Cup. I don't know anything about their national team.

I speculate that since they are very close to Portugal, their players may leave Cape Verde to train at Portuguese clubs and then go on to play in Portugal. I don't know if after Portugal they play for another club in Europe, but the fact is that they are better than the Cameroon national team.

Indeed Cameroon had always had this tenacious spirit in the world cup and even in the African cups of Nations they do put up such spirits, seeing them.in this world cup will really mean a lot for them and Africa, aside other African countries, they are also going  to bring that African vigor to the game and also ad some really beautiful colours to the tournament such that is unique to them and Africa, and in recent times they have developed some really brilliant internationals which I think will be an advantage to bank on.

But now, the number of participants have been increased and they are struggling to qualify. No one actually thought that they will lose out to Cape Verde, a country with half a million people. Two more matches remain for them, and as of now it looks like Cameroon need to fight it out in the second round, in order to have a chance to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Looking at the game's that, are lineup in this international break in the European continent there are several games that are eye catching to me. The game between Czech Republic vs Croatia is one team that will be interesting to watch because both teams are having the same points and is sitting in first and second position so this match will be critical to decides which tean leads this group.


Cyprus vs Bosnia is another game that, I will be interesting to watch because both teams are not that strong, maybe Bosnia will have more advantage going into this game but playing away may not be favorably to them. But I think that this game is open to both teams to win.

If Neymar is fit then I will argue that they do need him and my reason is that this Brazilian team is actually lack creativity in that midfield, yes they currently have some big names in the midfield but all of them are more of central midfielders than an attacking midfielder. If Neymar is fit I think Carlo Ancelloti could make use of a double defensive midfield or central midfield and then play Neymar as 10 this will most definitely make the attackers have quality supplies but in all of this we need a fit Neymar and in this situation he is not fit and it’s justified that he would not be call up in this state

In team selection what we look at is ability to play and not age, example cristiano Ronaldo who is closed to 40 years old is still putting up excellent performance more than some players that are not up to 30. Considering creativity in midfield I can't find it in Brazil's current squad which can be provided by neymar if he is inform so i see nothing bad in involving him in the squad if he is inform. And with Carlo Ancelloti's level of experience I don't think he will invite I liability in his squad just to prove a point. All he deserve from us now is total support to make things right.

Almost every World Cup tournament is usually graced with new participants country for the first time and there are countries you wouldn't know exist due to how they're not that popularly mentioned by any means until we see them in world competitions just like the World Cup. For an African like myself, Cape Verde is a known country and it's surprising though how they having a 4 points lead in a group where the indomitable liona of Cameroon and Libya are part of with just one win awaiting their qualification.
