I'm surprised that some people are trying to push the narrative that France can be beaten by Ivory Coast in the World Cup finals since they also defeated them in their friendly game. Your reason may be valid but I don't think that will be a justification for England to lose to New Zealand. Judging by the squad of England, their second eleven should be able to comfortably win New Zealand first team so despite testing of the various players by Thomas Tuchel, England ought to get a clean win. I know that Ronaldo aim is to win the World Cup, but if he is not able to win it in this tournament, I don't think he will try to play in the next World Cup, which will take place in another four years. Four years will be added to Ronaldo's age, and I don't think he will be fit enough to keep playing football at that level. Absolutely. Friendlies shouldn't be used as a benchmark for determining a team's strengths as they're precisely where coaches try out various strategies before the actual World Cup. This can be seen in the substitutions made by almost all players including the goalkeeper.

Friendlies can be considered warm ups before the actual match as coaches also assess the players' potential and build chemistry. Therefore, the results against Spain and France don't detract from their reputation as World Cup favorites.
