Maybe my words seem strange to you. But this is what I believe. This is also maybe right. If the coach has a lot of star players, then it is definitely good. But the problem is that france has a lot of star players, and again the relationship between the players is not good, then is it possible for France to perform well? We have seen the performance of Real madrid this season. There were a  lot of star players in their squad. Even then their performance was irregular. I watched their game against NewZealand, and my impression they'are not worthy to be rated as 3rd favorite to win WC. No liquid football showed by them against Newzealand, and their attack seem not in the same page. So i think this needs to be corrected a bit. Portugal will not face any problem in passing the group stage. Portugal has a very  strong squad in this world cup. They are not  dependent on Ronaldo at all. Even Ronaldo is most likely not to be seen in the starting XI. They have a strong, attacking midfield and defense. Congo and Uzbekistan are very weak opponents in the group. Your analysis is on point. England has always look like a weak team to me despite their parked stars. They know how to score cheap goals, I will give them that, but for opponent to dominate them and for them to play boring football, yes, they are good at that, and most of the time, the luck is so visible on them.

You are spot on for the France and Spain remarks as well. I've said it before that this world cup is to be won by either Spain, France or Argentina, with Argentina being the least of them. Spain and France are my favourite indeed, but I would still lean towards Spain a little.

There are enough reasons to consider Spain as the favorite. Spain's squad lacks experienced players. But they have a lot of talented  young players. The most important thing is the understanding  between the players is amazing. And this is why Spain can be considered the  favorite of this world cup.

Spain has a great coach like Fuente. He has been in charge since 2023. In the meantime, Spain has been able to win the  2024 Euro. We have  seen the  amazing and well-organized performance  of Spain's players at the Euro. The three of williams, yamal and torres in the attack are all capable of performing well. And the  chemistry between these three is also excellent.

I also think Portugal will finish in first place since not all the players were in the game. I didn't like the attitude of the Chilean player who fought with the other Portuguese player; that wasn't the way to treat each other in a friendly match. I'm from a South American country, but I don't support any kind of violence. Children watch football, and that doesn't set a good example for them. Football is a sport with a lot of rivalry, but that doesn't justify fighting.

I agree with you. The undoing of the French national team will not be a lack of quality players but the ability of the coach to organise them. Deschamps took a head coach position of French national team during a period of abundant good players. He is very experienced from his player career to coach career as before managing the national team, I remembered he used to be a coach of PSG. Deschamps managed the national team very well and they went very far in latest World Cup and Euro, with one World Cup title in 2018, and another final in 2022 in Qatar.

The success of Deschamps and his long time in the national team forced Zidane waiting in years for opportunity to be appointed as a national team head coach. With an announcement of Deschamps to leave after World Cup 2026, Zidane has very good chance to become a new head coach but firstly let's wait for performances of Deschamps and his players in this World Cup.

I think it's the media that's fueling the reported ego of Ronaldo that's not even existing in reality. One thing about the Portuguese star is that he'll always give his best for the love of his country and when he knows his best is below what the national team needs, he makes way for others to play. Despite his encouraging fitness level, it's true that age is now telling on him but that's not enough to conclude that he's declined. He recently helped his club win an all important game to claim the league title and he was very instrumental to the win. Yesterday's game was just a warmup match and you shouldn't expect him to be at his best. If Portugal will win this year's FIFA World Cup, I think Ronaldo will play a huge part.

Germany having lost a major player in Karl is just sad. Maybe some in here don't really know him but Lennart Karl (midflielder for Bayern Munich) really was supposed to play a big role for the German team, such a shame.

He was supposed to be one of the cornerstones next to Wirtz and Havertz. Assan Ouedraogo will replace him but I don't see him in any other role than on the bench.

You do not get a 26th man, a last minute call, and then replace that with a starter. You already have the substitution of a player, in the team, at the bench, and you replace the bench with the 26th man, while making sure that your current replacement gets to play.

So Germany already had whoever will replace Karl in the squad, not someone who will be called up. In any case, I am sure that Germany will be fine, they were not really expected to win the cup anyways, they do not have strong enough squad unfortunately, and they are going to lose anyways.

Well, a dressing room full of stars in not necessarily a good situation for a coach because there is always a lot of pressure to perform in a certain way. In the past years, just to make an example, Real Madrid had a lot of star players and yet the only coaches winning something were Ancelotti and Zidane.
I'm not talking about France's specific case, I'm just saying that football is not so easy like "many stars = many victories".

Portugal has the opportunity to stand out at the top of the group table, the other teams except for Dr Congo which might fight their way through, the rest countries are weak like already mentioned and this isn't where it gets tough for  Portugal.

This is just the beginning, I'm rightly convinced Portugal will scale through the group stage, too many expectancy has been placed on them, they can't afford to lose it at the very beginning, among the first to return back to their countries.

Scotland looks ready for the World Cup. After scoring four goals against their opponent in the first half of a friendly match, Scotland managed to win the game 4-0. They played really well in the match, and we can say it was a game where they were already the favorites. I don’t think they’ll be able to beat Brazil, but if they defeat Morocco, they’ll finish second in the group and advance. Based on this performance, I think they have the potential to advance from the group stage.

Scotland is having one of the toughest groups in this event. Their performance is well balanced with this big win, giving them a good boost, but playing against teams like Brazil and Morocco has never been easy for them, still it's going to be a tricky time for both Morocco and Scotland to have a win or draw between them.

Both will try their best to have a good win against Haiti because this game will give them a better chance of having a good end in this group. I am not sure about their chances of having a spot in the next round, but still, any result is possible.

Still on friendlies, Argentina played against Honduras yesterday. All I can say is absolute magic--- 18 out of 20 counter attacks were made by the Argentines and for them, it was nothing more than a training session. I know it wasn't suppose to be that serious, since it's still the friendlies, but the FIFA world cup 2026 begins in a 4 days or so.

Lisandro Martínez almost scored a bicycle kick from a very tough angle and the keeper would not have been able to save it because it took everyone by surprise, as well as the keeper. They look really prepared to defend their title with everything in them!
