Canada being a cohost wasn’t going to loss their first game at home.

Can we say the same for USA vs. Paraguay, that the USA is not going to lose that game because they are a cohost too? I think it is very likely to happen.

A double chance is a safe option for a USA pick.

Brazil against Morocco. Afterwards, I hope Morocco can save Africa some shame in the World Cup and not be embarrassing like the South Africans.

There was no way USA were going to lose against Paraguay at least not after all their preparation. Of all the 3 nations hosting this tournament it’s only the United States that I see going far in this World Cup. They are not here to play, just look at how they swept Paraguay aside with a comfortable win, the highest score we have seen so far in the tournament, 4:1 They played very well.

USA started with a convincing win at Los Angeles Stadium, Inglewood, CA. The dominated the match right from the start and they were 3-0 till the half time. It all started with the own goal by Bobadilla followed by two goals Balogun. Although Mauricio managed to put one goal back in the 73rd minute but then we had another goal by Reyna very late in the 2nd half making it a 4-1 win for USA against Paraguay. With this type of game, i guess its hard for Paraguay to even win any game.

Canada had a big chance in this game to win the game but didnt take it especially in the end but they werent able to take it. Bosnia took an early lead and holded for a long time but just couldnt hold the lead. Canada was able to score later in the game but just wasnt to make a complete turnover. I think the most realistic result in this game is 1-1. still this group looks the most complicated and i dont think that it will be easy to pass the group. I honestly dont know who will pass this group especially with this result. Both teams are really equal and i think both teams will fight for the third place.

From the way they played after Bosnia scores the first goal in the first half, it was a matter of time for them to get a goal and they did. Way much later in the second half. Latin turned out to be a super sub for Canada, scoring in less than 5 minutes after just coming on and the technique he used was swift. Took a quick turn with the right foot and sent it into the goal.
He almost got a second goal in the plus minutes but, it got intercepted by the Bosnia defense right in front of goal.
Canada had a lot of chances at goal but, they just couldn’t make it count.

The Bosnians were only lively for the first 20 minutes of the match. Canada created plenty of chances but ultimately failed to secure a win. They had an absolute sitter when the Bosnian defender, Kolasinac, cleared the ball off the line from an open goal. Overall, Canada's finishing in front of goal was poor; if it weren't for that, the Bosnians might not have gotten away with it. All in all, the game was far too dirty, and clear-cut chances were few and far between.

There is a mental motivation among the players to win on their own field. The USA team played great from the beginning with that motivation and was able to score 3 goals in the first half of the match. The first own goal was unfortunate for Paraguay. The first goal worked primarily to change the fate of the match because it inspired the USA players to play more aggressively in the later stages of the match. The Paraguay team was quite strong but they gradually became overwhelmed by the attacking tactics of the opposing team and conceded 3 goals in the first half. Congratulations to USA for getting a great victory in the opening match.

Canada got a conceded goal, came back, equalized and had chances to score a winning goal but they wasted some valuable opportunities. It's a first point of Canada in their World Cup history, so it's good but it's clearly that looking back some wasted chances, they will have many reasons to regret. The World Cup with Canada will still have at least 2 more matches in this group, if they go to a next round, they will no longer regret about opportunities in this match against Bosnia.

In contrast, if they finish this group not too well, and have to stop after three matches, they will have big regret because they would have actually be able to do better in this match and beaten Bosnia.

Paraguay was not favored even before the match started and moreover they had to face the host so of course it was very unlikely for Paraguay to be able to provide a tough fight so this big defeat was not that surprising and on the other hand the victory in the first match for the US has shown the mentality and confidence of their team to be able to make many surprises in the football event spread throughout the world this year and the factor of being the host of course had a big influence.

For upcoming game between Qatar vs Switzerland, certainly Qatar as the underdog even on the last world cup although at that time they are as a host but Qatar dissapointing that they even suffering 3 consecutive loses makes them cannot advances to the next stage.
Qatar preparation also not really good because from their friendly games Qatar have suffering several loses even their coach have admit that Qatar had a problem from their forward lines that because in the last several games Qatar have unable to scores.
Their opponent switzerland seems more good especially from the composition of squad switzerland has good name like Granit Xhaka who very experience to playing at different club so, for this game i am confident switzerland will beat Qatar.

Besides, I believe we have better teams to try our luck on than this US team... but I must admit loved the energy from them in their first game.. perhaps Paraguay made them look good with their non pressing game and poor defence ,otherwise USA looking good to go to the next round..

The USA played even better than I expected. I expected them to win, but I didn’t expect them to be able to score 4 goals against Paraguay because Paraguay has always had a very strong defense. Since Pochettino took over as the head coach of the USA, they have become an even more attacking team. 16 shots on target is a very good statistic. Now all the hosts of this tournament have played their matches. Mexico and the USA won their games, while Canada drew with Bosnia and Herzegovina. By the way, I liked Canada’s match the least, I think that playing at home, they should have performed better and beaten Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was a beautiful display from the US squad and they perfomed brilliantly in the first half with three goals and one offside. Paraguay looks very weak and lost on the field. Maybe, they were intimidated by the crowd because I didn't expect that poor performance from them. US team looks sharp and clinical.

I think it's because Paraguay played so badly, they had 8 shots with only one on target and team USA won them all round including possession. A win was expected for the US but I didn't expect that they'll score up to 4 goals, so far they're the team with the highest number of goals in the tournament and toping their group, that's impressive as one of the hosts of tournament, I believe they'll still do well against Australia but I hope they can keep it up when they'll play Türkiye, that would be their biggest challenge in the Group D. It's nice to see Folarin Balogun performing well for USA, he scored 2 goals in the match.

 So far, two out of the three hosts of the WC were able to emerge victorious, while one were held to a draw. USA thrashed Paraguay 4-1 in their group D opener, making them lead the standings with 3 points while Mexico also had three points as well in their group A. I will not be surprised that it's the small teams that we won't expect that will go far in this tournament because so far, big teams are yet to play but the smaller ones are showing their teeth.
 Canada were held to a draw by Bosnia and Herzegovina last night even when they were clearly the favorites to win. They had an impressive start to the game but I feel that they underestimated their opponents and that's what caused the scoreline to end that way.

Congratulations to the US national team for winning convincingly against Paraguay. I never initially thought that it would be so easy for the US team, but due to how lifeless the Paraguay team are, they might be among the first few teams that will be knockout of the competition once they finish playing their three group games, because their performance and that of the south Africans is the worst I have seen so far in the competition.

I will be expecting a more formidable test for the US national team against Australia and most especially Turkey, but untill then, celebrating their opening victory is not a bad idea.

Well, the USA deserves the applause TBH, and this achievement would have made some people win their tickets but also make many people lose their tickets, because many would have bet "under 5" for sure, as though we expected a USA win, but with a whopping 4 goals. That's exceptional!

I've always wonder why the USA, upon all their dominances in other sports, would not be a hero in the world of football. It seems they are beginning to wake up, and I wish them a very good luck in this tournament. Well done Balogun and other team mates!

Great performance from the united states national mens football team for the super performance in their first game of the tournament as co-host. Honestly I was not expecting this type of performance from the united states, reasons been that Paraguah is not a team that can be pushed away just like that. But that was not the case as the united states showed that they are ready for the challenge as they took the game to another level as they open scoring early in the game. And showed no signs of stopping until they game came to an end. 4:1 is a statement that United States is not a team that should be taken for granted by any team.

Perhaps the South Africa team was rattled by the way the Mexico fans rallied behind their squad, especially since they were playing on home soil. Before kickoff, a Mexican singer performed the national anthem while a helicopter carrying a massive Mexican flag flew over the stadium. I don't think the South Africa players were prepared for that level of hostile support, and it must have had a massive demoralizing effect on them. Ultimately, these factors may have prevented them from performing at their absolute best in the match.

I wouldn't think of the initial celebration before the start of the match to impact how the game goes, nothing demoralizes players off the pitch, it's always an on pitch display that gets players to lose focus, had they trained so well and understood the better strategy to face these Mexican players whose strikers made great impact in fighting the South African weak defense the game wouldn't have gone to the extent of losing 2:0 on their first encounter. Mexico had a weak guy in the post, something a smart attacking team would have been happy about and made great use of.

They played brilliantly in their match against Senegal. That’s why I expected them to beat Paraguay comfortably. Paraguay conceded the first goal as an own goal, but that didn’t matter much. USA dominated the game throughout and put immense pressure on Paraguay. At times during the match, Paraguay even struggled to break out of their own half... Türkiye is better than them in terms of squad quality and team play, but this match will never be easy...
