Well... The first surprise of the World Cup: an unexpected draw for Switzerland. It feels like a loss, though. Anyway, it ruined one of my bets...

Switzerland played well in the match, but unfortunately they couldn’t win the match. They completely dominated the match, and they were able to score their goal in the first half, but Qatar ended up equalizing during the extra time given in the match. I never believed Qatar will be able to equalize in the match, but the surprised me. I didn’t pick them in my bet, but the draw is just going to ruin lots of people’s bet because the draw wasn’t expected. Switzerland had lots of chances in the match, but they could convert only 1 into goal, it’s really bad because they had the opportunity to score more than a goal in the match.

This is currently the biggest surprise of the tournament and i didnt expect such a big surprise to come so early.Swiss really dominated the entire match but when you dont score a goal after so many chances you need to get punished and they did in the end. This makes the group a lot more complicated because Swiss needed three points here and after dropping them here it will be really hard for them to qualify. I honestly dont know how Qatar was able to score,they are too weak and they surprised everyone. I was thinking this was gonna be a walk in the park for the Swiss,but that just didnt happen in the end.

It was a surprising switch of play. We all knew Brazil had the squad but with all that squad, there is always the challenge of coordination, who to give more preference to lead the attack and all that. Unfortunately, they’ve not being able to get balls on target but, with this one chance for Morocco, they didn’t didn’t have to take any chances and was up and running into the spaces, catching the Brazilian defense off guard and from a through ball pass, Saibari was able to lob the ball right over the goalkeeper and into the net, a beautiful stuff. Let’s see how Brazil responds to that.

If Morocco ends up beating Brazil in the start of this World Cup it's going to make a big headline because by expectations Brazil are expected to be the team to dominate the game and win but so far the Moroccans have shown substance. this lead that these Moroccans have is going to be difficult to defend so the best chance for them is rather than defending they need to try and attack to score more goals and increase their chance of winning this game because the Brazilian team may likely score a goal before the game ends.

It is the continuation of how Brazil has been doing in the last few years. They got some big names and yet they get in trouble against so much smaller opponents. I mean not small in terms of country size, but in terms of the history of those teams. Morocco is the more active team now, have three times the number of shots...

Who knows maybe now Neymar's big moment is waiting and he will... I now see he is not part of the team and there are tons of rumors going around. One is that he stepped down because of problems in the background? Anyone has any safe information? Because when I last had a look they said he would be sitting on the bench. Ok no big Neymar moment then, but if they lose this first game, oh yes that will get some great discussions going again against Brazil / in Brazil.

Morocco is no bad team though, could be unjustified to expect an easy Brazil for win.

It is still like a dream to me seeing what Morocco is doing to Brazil that appears to be one of the best team in the tournament before the start of the tournament. BTW, the odds for Switzerland to win and draw were 1.01. 

Full credits to the Qatari goalkeeper, who saved many crucial attacks from the Switzerland forwards that would have been goals. Then there is the tactical blunder, if you check the stats, their 27 attempts on goal must be a record for a team unable to score a goal from open play.

It's too early to conclude that Brazil will lose this match, as the first half hasn't ended yet, and the score is still 1-1, so there's still a chance that Brazil can win this match. But I agree that Morocco showed a slightly better game than Brazil, they continued to press and made more attacks, but Brazil still had a good defense to withstand their attacks.

I really can't believe it. How were there only 2 goals in the Qatar-Switzerland match? I had a bet on over 2.5 goals @1.61. Switzerland had 3.24 goal expectation.

But they scored only 1 out of a ton of attempts. Qatar scored in the last moments to make it 1-1 but it came too late.


Now I'm waiting for my bet on Turkey to win. I hope we don't fail because of not being a part of the World Cup for a long time.

Well one thing I know about country vs country soccer is that, they tend to have few goals in a match, and most times it ends in draw leading to penalty. So seeing results like this are kind of normal in world cup,

I personally go for draws in majority of the matches, but it's actually dependant on the club playing, I don't do the same for Argentina, Brazil, Netherlands and France because these are stronger countries, but I go for draw for the rest, it's just how I gamble personally

Wow to morroco, Brazil are really helpless and confused, they don't know what hit them. V junior equalized the goal, but the whole match is controllrd by Morocco with their beautiful passes. Morocco should stop being relaxed and press Brazil really hard if they want to win them. It was because they got too relax that Brazil took advantage and equalized.

You’ve got balls man, I’ll give you that much. Morocco have being really good in this first half, they’ve ensured they put a lot of pressure on Brazil and have being very dangerous going forward. Brahim Diaz has being spot on in his performance and Vini Jnr isn’t taking it easy on his Real Madrid team mate.

The most I expect Morocco to get out of this game is a draw, I don’t think they would be able to take that lead and keep it. For every lead from Morocco, Brazil would be able to push back and get a goal. They’ve got a record to keep as a team that haven’t lost their first game in the World Cup and they are not about doing that now.
