France are top favourites of course. But the last champion is Argentina in a finale against them. Furthermore there is another possibility for these 2 to face each other again in the final! I'll be looking forward to that...

We have seen the performances of all the teams so far. Among them, the overall  performance of france and argentina seems to  be strong. They have an experienced manager. They even have a strong  squad.

The France team has been the hot favorite in the past few world cups. They have a very strong squad. France  probably has the most star  players. Even the chemistry  between the  players is excellent. Dembele and Mbappe are also in great form. This team is very difficult  to stop.

On the other hand, the performance of the current champion Argentina is also stable. Messi is in great form in this world cup as well. He is  the top scorer so far. Also, Martinez and alvarez are in great form.

South Africa played two horrible matches in the group stage and then luckily won the third, which allowed them to advance to the round of 32. As you said, I felt the same and I couldn't trust my eyes when I saw they did make it. Canada I thought was much stronger, but this is not how the match against South Africa went. They were both pretty harmless, but Canada succeeded with that lucky punch. Without that goal I think that could have been another classic penalty shootout match. No chances, no goals, passing around and many mistakes and then toss a coin in the penalties.

Canada will soon run into problems, too. The group stage looked promising, but I think it didn't fully reflect how good or bad Canada is.

I think the only lesson to be learned from this game is that Casemiro can't play against fast teams. He's too slow, despite being decisive. It's better not to take risks and replace him with someone who can handle the pressure and run.

Who said they're not contenders? Go check the stats to see for yourself then you'll know that Brazil weren't just lucky, they deserved to win that game cause they played better but Japan was good too and defended pretty well. Yeah Martinelli was the hero of the day, he saved Brazil the stress of playing penalty shootouts.

I love the way it is going, and I would love to see more surprising matches. Id you ask me, I wouldn't love it in the hands of France nor Argentina. I love to see another history making champions of the world cup. It may be impossible, I know, but I would just love it to happen.

Today we’ll be watching the Round of 32 match between Ivory Coast and Norway. So far in this tournament, we’ve seen two results that could be called surprises. I partly agree with you. You are right that casemiro is a bit slow. It is difficult for him to perform well against a very fast  team. That is true. We saw that in yesterday's match. But the  most important thing is that Casemiro is  very experienced. And that is why it is important to have him in  the squad. Such experienced players are helpful for high-voltage matches. They can take a lot of pressure. And they can  also help the players to  gain confidence. So even though Casemirc has some weaknesses , ancelotti is not looking for a replacement for him at the moment.

Technically Don Carlo removed the whole midfield and are trying some new type of football and their striker can press the whole team I laugh when I see that's tactics for the experience manager Don Carlo Hahah. Carlo was very determinant with his choices and he is very calm too. In the match with Japan, again Carlo shows his sharp tactical vision by changes he made for Brazil in tactics and player substitutions to make a comeback. Brazil in World Cup 2026 don't have abundant super star players like 20 years ago but with Carlo, and star players they have, likely Brazil will manage to go far this summer.

With Carlo, Brazil has a head coach who can control the dressing room very well, without creating unnecessary internal conflicts. In knock out matches, a weaker team can beat a stronger team like Paraguay beat Germany, so if Brazil meet Argentina or England, they will have opportunity to win these matches. Argentina and France are definitely very strong and honestly, after the knockout of Germany, I want Argentina to win very much because Messi is my favorite football player and not only that, I enjoy the vibe of the team, the whole squad, they feel like a family playing against teams.
