The best altcoin to look out for

I agree about diversification, so I think it's fine about getting a few altcoin instead of just bitcoin.
Till now more than 70% of my assets are bitcoin, and another 20% or so are altcoin which I think have real use cases like ETH. So of course I expect good potential from him long term, but I wouldn't prefer to get more than 20% at the moment.

From the beginning I did not completely ignore altcoin in my investment portfolio, so it doesn't matter if you talk about altcoin, but I do not agree with altcoin meme that are only made for speculative and profit owners.

Well for me the best altcoin to look out for in 2023 is Ethereum and Cardano. I hodl some of each but most important I believe in Ethereum for the dapps and I am waiting for Cardano to release the new stable coin Djed.
I think Ethereum has some real chances of a big opportunity for profit for its holders. It is still number 2 on coinmarketcap with close to $153 billion marketcap and I think after this 'bear market' becomes to a end that we will get to experience great gains along with Bitcoin.

Both ethereum and cardano are good coins, and it is possible we could get to witness some sort of recovery during this year, but in my opinion the recovery will be on the low side, as there are many people that are desperate and that will sell their coins at the first sign of a recovery.

For this reason it is important to keep our expectations in check and think of this year as a transition year, in which we move away from the bear market and we get closer to the bull market as the halving is coming during the next year.

It's important not to have too high expectations because we have to realize that in transition we have to be patient,
the bear market is likely to continue and so better take advantage of this time to collect potential coins,
what is clear is that recovery will not go quickly so stay tuned for what will happen later.

I already have many altcoins on my list but I am starting to doubt more. I already have a long list of altcoins since last year but so far I only have ETH, BNB, and very tiny amounts of other altcoins. Syscoin is one of my main priorities to buy in the first quarter of this year. If you ask me why just look at their historical price. Another thing that comes to my mind are projects for decentralized social media, metaverse, and then the play-to-earn games. There are always room for improvements and this year we will be getting some innovations of projects that failed to work in the last years like play-to-earn games.

There is no stress if you know what you are doing and have a plan for the future. I know that many people think that they should be investing into something that could make them rich in a year, but we all know that is not going to happen, the odds of that is pretty low and no need to do that.

The best thing to do would be making sure that you invest into something that is strong like bitcoin, which removes all the stress. Whales know what they are doing because if they lose money they could recoup that with even more money in the market, usually we invest with all we have anyway, we can't just whip out x10 more money somewhere and live with that.

I think a safe investment would be litecoin out of all the proven altcoins. The ltc is about to halving and historically this has always had a positive effect on the price. The developers are working hard on the project and the good thing is that there is no hype around ltc yet.

Do you believed that he never took it serious till bitcoin gain back momentum then, lastly what he did was to say " Let me buy now before i would be left behind" and he did, surprisingly the price dropped, but i advised him not to sell rather hold.

if it is for 2023 I'd say any coins that still has potential yet getting its value reduced significantly will definitely grows in 2023, even though forecasting such thing like the increase of value in an alts is quite silly since no one knows for sure but i'm sure that coins like eth, btc, and bnb which has tremendously losing its value, gonna be the ones that will recover back their value someday next year if the bullrun is coming.

In 2023, I feel the economic depression, rising prices, and people are looking for ways to make money. You shouldn't wonder at all. Well, as a newbie your knowledge is still limited so are extra careful on the steps that you will take but there are also newbies who are reckless at the beginning. They are more on the FOMO side. What happened with the case of your friend is slightly different. If what we have earlier are newbies who are less confident, your friend here seems to be a veteran already and is over confident with his ability. He also waits for the dip instead of the pumps. What could be your friend's reaction by the time he fail? Not only once but twice.

It would be great if he admit his mistakes and will now learn from your advices the next time. Not that he still blame you and thinks it was your fault on why he got a bad luck. I know a person who act like this.

The potential for layer2 tokens is indeed greater because ethereum is currently also experiencing an increase and since ethereum has switched to POS the costs are also getting cheaper. The watchlist you mentioned such as Optimism, Polygon and Arbitrary is a watchlist that is included in my list. Currently only arbitrum has not released their token yet, this will be a good project for the future. and for matic, you just need to wait for the time to start being bullish if the market is ready.

The cryptocurrency market in the encrypted world was hit by events such as the collapse of the FTX exchange and the surge in inflation, and the sentiment was not high. Even if people like to think about themselves as rational individuals which take decisions based on logic, the truth is the majority of those people take decisions based on their emotions.

They refuse to buy bitcoin at the bottom or close to it because they are afraid of making a mistake, however when the price begins to go up that fear transforms and instead of being afraid of losing money they are afraid of missing out, the famous FOMO, also since many more people are buying bitcoin at the time they feel safer doing this themselves, this is similar to what we see when an ad on TV says that millions of people have bought a particular product, even if it is a lie when people hear this they assume that since so many people are satisfied with the product then they will be as well and it is safe to buy it.

Those 4 I listed above are all uptrend, the bitcoin is still on reversal but those coin that I mentioned are already above ahead with the general market. For those who are still picking what altcoins to invest in then you can follow my suggestion but remember to manage your risk because everything can happen in this kind of market.
