In other countries such as Nigeria, crypto also appears to be illegal.

This is a wrong conception that cryptocurrency is illegal in Nigerian, make your research very well, nobody ban cryptocurrency in Nigeria it was a false information that Bitcoin is been ban in Nigeria, the vice president said cryptocurrency can be regulated but not ban in Nigeria, so therefore bitcoin is not ban rather it's been allowed to operate but not really a legal tender in the country of Nigerian.

most countries have no regulations when it come to crypto because for them it is new technology and it would require time for them to understand and implement protocols on this technology.
also, there are several crypto-exchanges operating in nigera, so if the govt banned any crypto-related business, these exchanges won't operate.
right now, for countries who don't have clear taxation rules and other protocols, better enjoy it. because in time, even small crypto owners may need to submit their crypto assets and incur tax on it.

i am something less experience and has bad english so ignore
Banning of bitcoin by world government? Well yes! That's very possible but stopping it in entire is what you can't expect to happen. A few government have tried and still, the currency continues to thrive. Perhaps it goes through through a little bear move but soon goes back up rather drastically.
That's the strength in centralisation, it doesn't depend on the corporate effort of some group of persons, organisation or government to rule it out. You actually need the whole bitcoin or crypto enthusiast to want out and that's why they stick to FUD to make it happen and we sint buying it.

Wha am getting now is that, in this concept of ban, it doesn't mean stop!

Bitcoin can’t be stopped that easily. Governments around the world have been trying since to kill bitcoin from day 1 and have not succeeded. In our world today where everything is centralized and censored People are very much invested in bitcoin, what it means and how it can be used as a means of freedom.

I think bitcoin could be banned if all the governments agreed,
but in my opinion, with the existence of bitcoin, the government will not experience losses, in fact, with the presence of bitcoin, the community's economy will be helped.
so I think the government will definitely find it difficult to ban bitcoin because bitcoin doesn't hurt the government. and if the government banned bitcoin, of course now the government has banned it.

maybe in every country the attitude of the government towards bitcoin is different, of course there are those who react positively and there are negative ones, but I am lucky to live in a country where the government supports bitcoin and crypto. and the government applies a tax system in every transaction on certain exchanges that have been given permission by the government.
so if transactions on the exchange are of course protected by law, so of course bitcoin and cryptoo transactions will be safer.

but I think don't think too much about it
The problem is, the proof is now not banned by your government right.

I don't think so. If they can control the internet or shut it down, that's the time Bitcoin will stop.
Bitcoin is decentralized, that's how Bitcoin works, so I believe as long as there is the internet, Bitcoin will stay even government will ban it.

As others have of course already stated here, governments can't ban bitcoin.  They can ban exchanges from operating inside of their nations which will certainly hurt people in a large way that will effect their buying and selling of bitcoin, but it can't/won't shut thing down entirely as there's decentralized exchanges as well as over the counter trading which can never be shut down as it's not even something that has to trigger anything on the blockchain.

The difference between banning and stopping bitcoin is very different. Well, if we stay stopped, it would be about stopping its operation and transactions, which the government cannot do, but about banning. A few countries have banned bitcoin in their country, primarily because bitcoin was used in illegal transactions and money laundering. Though it would be difficult for people to stop using bitcoin because it has been banned because they can still transact online without the government knowing.

Can Bitcoin get banned? yes.
Can Bitcoin become legal tender? yes.
Can you trade if Bitcoin get banned? yes.
Can Bitcoin fall to $1? yes.
Can Bitcoin surge to $1000000000000? yes.

Anything is possible in Bitcoin, because there's no one can control it. All governments can ban Bitcoin, but it doesn't stop people to trade using decentralized exchange and protect our privacy using reputable mixer. Bitcoin decentralization is 100% and can't be controlled by any party including Satoshi.

That is just an assumption out of thin air. There is no meaning for this statement unless and until  there are visual evidences for this. What I mean is, until now there have been news like this everywhere but there was no single government with any amount of power who was able to stop the bitcoin. That was the whole point of making blockchain as public ledger so that individual can surpass the whole banking system and traditional government rules & beyond.
With that said, if Mr. Satoshi wanted use his brain to develop the current banking system then he could have done it, patented the blockchain for private usage and made it available for the use of banks only. We have already surpassed those barriers, bitcoin is unstoppable now.

Good luck with that.
India tax crypto. That means crypto is legal in India. But Indian Central Bank is the problem, they hate crypto. If the news is true, it would be the central bank that says something like that, not Indian government. They are failing in their own country about crypto, how will they win in the world.

No government in the world can ban BTC.
The reason why governments are afraid of BTC is because they have no control over it.

The reason why banks hate crypto is obviously because it is a serious threat to them.

That being said, I think India has the highest number of scam crypto currency projects out there.  Most of their projects ends up scamming people.

Many countries have promulgated laws and regulations that prohibit Bitcoin, but after a period of time, they announced that Bitcoin is allowed to be accepted.
It is difficult to implement a ban on Bitcoin in many countries unless the government fully controls the Internet. Such an approach will lose popular support. People will have some overreactions.

What is certain is that not all governments will agree to prohibit bitcoin adoption in their countries because every government has a different view of bitcoin and so far, if we look at it, only in large countries the governments do not accept bitcoin, but in some small countries they will need bitcoin and believe that bitcoin can help boost the economy in such a small country like El Salvador. Currently bitcoin is growing so fast that I don't think the government has enough power to stop the existence of bitcoin.

Well, technically, yes. This technology could be stopped by governments if they would like to. The thing which makes this technology run is its community so if governments will be banning the usage, then this industry would be at risk.
The government sees bitcoin as a threat to traditional currencies, threatening to undermine central banks' control over money.
I do see it as a threat for the government in terms of avoiding taxation unlike with fiat based transactions which are monitored by governments of each country. Fiat still is more powerful so I doubt this technology would be more than that given the market volatility on the prices, there would be more people to still use fiat simply because it is less risky to possess than to lose due to market price volatility. But in the future, it is more likely to coexist with one another simply because of the difference in terms of preferences of both investors and non-investors of this technology.

They can ban it but they can't stop people from using it. That's just how it is. It's the fear of the law that will stop the people from using Bitcoin.

The government sees bitcoin as a threat to traditional currencies, threatening to undermine central banks' control over money.

Bitcoin is too small to see it as a threat for the traditional banking. It's more like a nuisance because of how criminals are utilizing Bitcoin to launder or scam from the citizens. Bro, just look at NFT scams taking millions of dollars in Bitcoin and Ethereum alone.

I suggest editing the title of this thread to 'Bitcoin cannot be banned or stopped by governments' because that's the truth. Firstly, all governments won't stand together to take down BTC and the entire cryptocurrency market for various reasons.

Secondly, even if they somehow miraculously take a stand together, their efforts would be pointless since BTC isn't 100% centralised. They would end up wasting their own time and money.

Also, the Indian government decided to regulate the cryptocurrency market recently since they realised that they cannot ban them completely.

Snip
Controversies have already been created over the legality of cryptocurrencies in India, although India has now legalized cryptocurrencies despite many speculations. But still many political figures are pushing to make it illegal again. And now if they declare illegal again then I think it will be a stupidity for their country and I also think they will never get global help in this case for banning Cryptocurrency.
Except a few countries, countries around the world are currently thinking about how to move forward in the future with the current saturated currency.  So I think they will not get help from any other country in this regard.

You should not have asked this question if you are well aware of true decentralization. As a result, it is important to know what decentralization requires. This refers to Bitcoin operating without the involvement of a third party. Miners solve blocks and mine Bitcoin. In any case, no government can control it. We can obtain it from anywhere. Only centralized wallets or exchanges could be controlled by the government. They can't interfere with decentralized exchanges or non-custodial wallets, so they can't ban Bitcoin. The government can declare something illegal but cannot ban it.

Indian government (maybe other also)  say that " to ban cryptocurrency we need global help" my question is : can bitcoin be banned if all government will agree to ban bitcoin

i am something less experience and has bad english so ignore

If it was possible for government to ban bitcoin it would have been something they would have done even before now. Government can't ban  bitcoin or try to regulate it.  Bitcoin is beyond the government, right now they don't have any choice than to adopt it. The only thing some government can do is to ban the use of bitcoin in their country. Nobody can stop bitcoin, it is either you accept  or you leave it, nothing else can be done apart from this.

You have to understand something about the Indian Government.
The Government sees Indians as some thing to beat upon and squeeze wealth from. Sort of like a Master /Slave relationship.
This mentality cannot be propagated into many forward thinking nations.
So yes Indians are fucked but this plan to globally stop Bitcoin is an idiots dream just like Indians ruling class are a bunch of idiots.
