If Bitcoin could have been banned or restricted it would have been done. Even if the powerful countries of the world gather, it will not be able to control it in any way. This is the main advantage that Bitcoin took no time to establish itself today. No one can stop or ban it even if they want, because there is no control. When the governments of different countries were able to understand these issues, they looked at the aspect of not banning it but how it is possible to collect the revenue of that country. Due to various government restrictions in most countries, Bitcoin cannot be bought and sold directly, but many people are involved in it indirectly. What is important is how to implement something good through it without thinking of banning it.

If all countries were to ban BTC and its usage, then it will slowly become obsolete and no one would actually use it. There would be no trading aspect as persons would be liable if they transact using BTC. In addition, they would also be penalized by their respective government given that exchanges require KYC in order to transact using it. This will now definitely ruin the chances of BTC being globally accepted and used as a form of alternative currency without the need of any third-party consensus.

While that may be the case, I really doubt that it will happen. There are various countries who see the potential of its usage and its impact on the economy (e.g. Japan, etc.). While there may be countries who prohibit the use of such, there are still countries who continue to develop and adapt BTC to its economy and finances.

Luckily, not all countries has the same view as China and India because they chose to ban cryptocurrency rather than taking advantage of what can it do to their economy and let their people have the freedom invest in it. I understand why they chose to ban it but in any given angle, their government are just too selfish because they are the ones who decide for their people even if it's not what the people wanted.

To answer the OP's question, governments will definitely ban bitcoin if they chose to do so just like what India and China did.

How many times has India banned crypto now? Is anyone counting?

There are two countries who are perpetually banning and rebanning Bitcoin as well as all crypto. China and India. And has that worked? No. Even North Korea with their 25 mill population cannot stop Bitcoin. No matter how hard they try, neither can the (supposedly) most powerful country in the world- United States of America.

So what chance does India have? Especially with their population size and lack of dictatorial government?

Nobody can stop you from mining Bitcoin. Nobody can stop you from sending it to other wallets.

True. It's so funny, every time I see news about banning Bitcoin I think to myself "But they have already done it, or am I getting crazy?"

I believe the only way for governments to stop bitcoin would be to ban internet. Since it's not possible, it's also impossible for them to stop bitcoin. There can be bans, regulations, negative propaganda, FUD, censorship, although it's nevery going to be sufficient to completely prevent citizens from using bitcoin. Fortunately for citizens from strict countries, centralization has its limitations, so they can still enjoy their experience dealing with bitcoin on the internet. However, due to the risks involved in doing so when residing a hostile country to bitcoin, it's advised that enthusiasts think about the possibility of moving themselves to a bitcoin friendly country, so they can live in peace without constant fear and paranoia of retaliations from the state.

Most governments think the same on this issue.  However, many of them are hypocritical.  Look, there is the example of China.  Although it is a country that has sanctioned many cryptocurrencies in the past, they produce and work on Digital Yuan.  They want to make the most of the blockchain infrastructure and turn it in their favor.  Why are they against Bitcoin because Bitcoin is moving independently of them.  Their excuses are ready, they say that Bitcoin causes a lot of black money.  Thinking about it, is Bitcoin the only way to launder money?  How did people clean them up before Bitcoin was created?  They still follow the same methods.  There may be malicious ones, but how accurate can it be to generalize this?  If there is a worldwide ban for Bitcoin, it will of course affect its price, but I do not think it will affect its use.  I also do not think that governments will take such a step globally.

You can't just move to another country because of bitcoin, unless you really have a big hidden fortune that can make you retire.

Their excuses are ready, they say that Bitcoin causes a lot of black money.
It is deserved to be said that "black money" is defined black by the state. If there are no laws prohibiting the existence of drug marketplace, or non-reported gambling activity, that money is just as "clean" as it can be. Whatever activity involves money and isn't liked by the state is going to be flagged as illicit. Bitcoins, therefore, as fundamentally separated by the state, are most likely going to be "black money".

There is a conspiracy theory according to which all political and economic processes on planet Earth are controlled by a single World Government.

However, using the example of Bitcoin, we know for sure that there is no World Government!

Many governments and Central Banks want to ban Bitcoin.

However, all their efforts are in vain.  They cannot coordinate their position with other countries.  Bitcoin is a new decentralized world currency.  Bitcoin is a real opportunity to make a profit.

Therefore, there are always states in the world that are not interested in a complete ban on Bitcoin.

I'm happy with your optimism about bitcoin and its future. I hope things like this can convince people that real bitcoins cannot be stopped or controlled by any authority. The government, through its rules, is only able to control the majority of users, but none of them is completely successful because there are many ways to transact.

While the majority of law-abiding people might find regulation and prohibition reasonable and they accept it, but those who are starting to distrust the government and the centralization of its currency primarily in hedging. I believe bitcoin has a good future ahead of it from a regulatory perspective, and it's quite possible that the majority of countries that banned it will lift the ban when other powerful countries start to soften.

They are afraid because they can't control BTC or other cryptocurrency unless it's their own creation. And banning crypto worldwide would never be possible. Because they are stupid not to understand the importance of crypto, mostly BTC. And the main reason being not able to control it is their main fear. Drug use is ban and yet people are still using it, isn't it? Maybe a bad example but just for reference tho.
There will always be people who will adapt to crypto. And What about those country who adopted BTC already? It's just one way to spread fear to keep us suppressed.
Good day will come, just have patience.

I don't mean to be rude or anything of course, but I am really curious to know... How can bitcoin be banned ? I mean, in general, let's say that you wanted to ban bitcoin, what would you need to do ?

Yes if truly all government can agree, Bitcoin can can be ban but it is not possible for all government to that because of their economy are not going in same direction and each government is looking forward on how they will continue building their economy. So there are competition in economy between the governments, so that is reason why they not agree and that is why I think Bitcoin cannot be banned if not they could have banned it. I can see  some government are trying banned Bitcoin in some countries but the more they trying to banned it, the higher more countries are adopting it. So with my view Bitcoin cannot banned if not it could have not even reach this time.

Indian government (maybe other also)  say that " to ban cryptocurrency we need global help" my question is : can bitcoin be banned if all government will agree to ban bitcoin

i am something less experience and has bad english so ignore
The governments of countries must want to control their own country's financial system and prevent capital outflows, but Bitcoin is the natural enemy of this system. This is one of the meanings of Bitcoin's existence, to make funds more free, and centralization has bound us for too long Now, Bitcoin is the only decentralized product that allows people all over the world, regardless of race or country, to reach a consensus.

However, due to the risks involved in doing so when residing a hostile country to bitcoin, it's advised that enthusiasts think about the possibility of moving themselves to a bitcoin friendly country, so they can live in peace without constant fear and paranoia of retaliations from the state.
You can't just move to another country because of bitcoin, unless you really have a big hidden fortune that can make you retire.
A hidden fortune of if the person gets paid in bitcoin for his work, so it might be interesting to become a digital nomad and live abroad, in case his native country has a harsh approach to bitcoin enthusiasts. It's not necessary to move to a country where life is expensive, though. I believe there are potential friendly countries to bitcoin for every incomes' sizes. Moreover, a country which is hostile to btc is also hostile regards another aspects of the society, without any doubts, so it's definitely not a good place to live in.

So far, in some countries/governments, no one can ban cryptocurrency completely, maybe in some countries there are those who prohibit it from making purchases/payments and adoption, but they certainly don't prohibit trading, given the many benefits generated for the government through taxes from cryptocurrencies. and even if the government could ban Bitcoin of course many countries would ban Bitcoin.

Bitcoin cannot be banned completely, we can be sure that if they are able to do so, of course they will ban it, and the only way for them to not allow Cryptocurrency is by not legalizing it (Illegalized).

So far, bitcoin cannot be banned and/or restricted as all governments never unite, but if in case all unite then blocking bitcoin will be super easy. You need to remember that bitcoin is run by the internet and energy, both are controlled by the government, if they are united in their determination to get rid of bitcoin, then that will be the end of bitcoin. But luckily that is unlikely, since the interests of each government are different, they will never become 1. And banning bitcoin won't benefit them instead of regulation, tax is what they covet.

Banning Bitcoin will not be easy, nor will it be completely banned. Each country's government has a different attitude towards Bitcoin. Although some countries have restrictions on the use of Bitcoin, more and more countries believe that Bitcoin is beneficial to the country's economic development and begin to study and adopt it.

I don't mean to be rude or anything of course, but I am really curious to know... How can bitcoin be banned ? I mean, in general, let's say that you wanted to ban bitcoin, what would you need to do ?

Basically, you can't ban something that you cannot control. The government nor any private establishments don't have control over Bitcoin. That is what explains why some governments are so afraid and hate Bitcoin.
They can prohibit Bitcoin exchanges and local custodial wallets in an effort to prevent Bitcoin, but still people can transact online using the international platform and store Btc in their cold wallets.

You can't just move to another country because of bitcoin, unless you really have a big hidden fortune that can make you retire.

It would be easy to say that if you have wealth, you can just move to another country; let's say you own a ton of bitcoins; then, moving to any country as long as your visa and passport are approved, you can move immediately; but if you are just a simple citizen living on a minimum wage and barely surviving, I believe it will take time. You have nothing to do but accept what the government will do and try not to get caught or follow their policies.

Bitcoin has spread around the world in such a way that even the governments of different countries cannot ban this Bitcoin. Recently, only a few countries have legalized Bitcoin, while all other countries remain against Bitcoin. So from here it can be said that if it could be stopped, it would have stopped Bitcoin by now. Only one miracle can stop bitcoin and that is to cut off electricity from the whole world and shut down the internet system only then can ban bitcoin from the whole world. And this impossible event will never happen and Bitcoin will not be banned from the world. However, the price will go up and down over time.
