Ronaldo has officially declared his desire to retire after world cup. Which means, his contract here will end by the end of the year, and then he will go to world cup with Portugal and after that he will probably retire. Not entirely sure if that will be the case or not

Ronaldo can retire tomorrow if he wants to, as long as he's sure of having enough legacy on his name, for the next 2 generations unborn. He also has a huge-ass stake in Al nassr, let's not forget.
The goalkeeper needs to improve, and the defense needs to be reorganized... That's the team's only problem right now. So, looking at that, I think Ronaldo will continue playing until his contract with Al Nasr actually expires. So, in the yesterday’s match in the Round 18 of the SPL, Al Ahli won against Neom with three goals to none and Neom played with ten men from the 60th minute when Al Dawsari got a red card and after the red card was even Al Ahli scored to more goals to make it three. Neom played a good game especially in the first half but they weren’t able to net a single goal and in the second half Al Ahli got a penalty and later scored two more goal.

Al Ettifaq won against Al Kholood as I earlier predicted in this thread, initially Al Kholood were leading with one goal in the first half and in the second half Al Ettifaq equalized and scored the winning goal in the 83th minute..Al Ghannam scored the brace.

After the break, league table have changes a lot, Al Qadisiah is currently the best team in league due to their flawless attack and strong defense even currently they are at fourth spot but their performance and consistency can give them good results in upcoming rounds.

Al Hilal is having leading spot which are surely now going to be under their control thanks to their best performance and good experienced squad. Al Ahli is also having good season due to their good performance, Al Nassr is improving their performance even their defense is still problematic, but now things are back on track which are good while their chances for winning title is ended due to few games where they lost.

Obviously Al Qasidiyah has been great, I do not deny that fact, and they are doing a wonderful job, but the reality is that both Al Hilal and Al Ahli has been winning their games as well, so it is clear that they are doing a fine job too.

Only team at the top four that has done badly during this period has been Al Nassr, and nobody in the world knows why they have went 9 for 9 and had a period where they had draws and losses and sucked so badly, now even they look better, but for a moment there, they were terrible.

Neom's performance was good in the first half and the second half as well. Before getting the red card, they had only conceded one goal and were performing well. But after getting the red card, Neom's performance started to deteriorate. If Neom had played the whole time with 11 men, the result of the match might have been different or the margin of defeat would have been very small. However, Al Ahli deserved to win and they have been performing well so far this season. Their consistency in the last matches has helped them improve their position.

I went through the stats of this game and saw that Al Ahil was the dominant side and the victory was a deserving one, been a home team is actually an advantage but not an assurance of victory, and that was the case with Neom, they were the home team did not mean they were going to win, if the visiting side players better, they will get the victory they deserve.

As a promoted club being able to finish in 10th place by week 17 is certainly a great achievement and they still have hope of improving their standing in the remaining matches until the end of the season.

As you said, Neom is a team that adapts easily to the SPL. This was evident when they dominated the game against Al Ahli even though they lost a player to a red card. They might have scored a goal without the red card. I mean their resilience is a great asset for their continued stay in the SPL. It is true that he is fit, but he is not as fit as a 29 year old football player, that's long way off, he isn't running or agile like he used to, he is just purely a striker who is spending time around the goal so that he can find easier goals, like tap *ins. He isn't the winger Ronaldo that we loved back in the day, he isn't running around and doing his best, he is just trying to score his 100th goal and be done with it, nothing more.

Because of that I highly doubt that he will play another 3-4 seasons, and next year will probably be his last year. The only possibility he plays any longer, would be that if he fails to score 1000th goal by the end of next year, if that happens then he will need another year, but if he reaches 1000, then he will retire.

Yup that's right. At first I thought this season Ronaldo would give the title to Al Nassr for at least 10 weeks as they were leading the table with a record of winning all their matches but somehow suddenly their performance worsened and they even lost 3 matches in a row and now Al Nassr is in 4th position in the standings, there is something strange about their team especially in the defense line, with this series of bad results I am not sure whether they can take over the top of the standings again. Today Al Nassr will play their 17th match against Al Taawoun and this should be an opportunity to get 3 points because they are playing at home but we also know that Al Taawoun is not a weak team so it is better to avoid betting on 1x2.

While I agree and we can all see that the contract was for two years, I think the second year is player option and not forced? That was the reason why many questioned the situation. But I 100% agree that he will play one more year after world cup and retire after that.

The 17th round match between Al Nassr and Al Taawoun will start in a few hours from now. Al Nassr need to win this match, to maintain their second place position in the table (Al Ahli has 40 points after the 17th round, and Al Qadisiyah is having 39). And Al Hilal is maintaining their position with 45 points. Al Hilal suffered some sort of a setback, after they conceded a draw against Al Riyadh. For today's match, Stake has Al Nassr at 1.30.
