This is very annoying for this kind of treatment to the woman because it's just irrational for this to be generally accepted. Unfortunately, this happens a lot more than we know. Casinos don't mind taking your money, but as soon as you win big, there's all kinds of excuses. There was a man that took one of the big three to court in the UK over a multi million pound bet, I believe it was a sport bet. They refused to pay initially. I do believe he won in court though.

I can't imagine what it feels like to see that you've won some big money, legitimately, and then get rejected the withdrawal. If you take them to court, you'll likely win. The casino should lose their license in this scenario, if the regulator actually had any teeth and were capable of doing their job properly. There should be no "get out" clause like that or they can literally say that any single jackpot that a machine shows up is null and void, thus defeating the whole point of playing towards a jackpot from the customer perspective. It's not only the casino at fault here, it is the government enforcement agency that are clearly powerless to do anything against fraudulent actions of a casino. By letting them get away with it once, it will just be easier for them to get away with it again in future and might even be abused more in future.

The mechince being faulty is non of the woman's problem, since the machine already displayed that she won and she is having evidence, then they should pay her the money, next time they should always make sure they carry out maintenance on their machine frequently. The woman shouldn't accept the dinner, she shouldn't take it easy with them, she should make sure she collect her money.

In any serious country, such a case would certainly cause the casino to permanently close its doors.
Whether due to the obligation to pay the prize (without having the money) or fines and lawsuits filed against the casino by the person who won and also by local authorities.

Whether the casino was honest or not then there's nothing we can do since they had made out their negotiations in between the women and the company itself.If she had just dealt up with on the claims that it was broken then it is really just sad that she had just spiked and mind off about change of her life since shes already a millionaire but ending up that it was really just a dream given on this circumstances.

Frankly, this whole story looks doubtful in many details. In any case, if something like this actually took place, then the final decision will be made in court. The casino cannot say that "the machine was broken, you did not win anything" this must be proven.
In addition, I was struck by the fact that she went home to "come back tomorrow and discuss the winnings." I understand that she was in shock, but you can't do that.

The casino is obviously making it’s own shallow excuse just to avoid paying the big amount of winnings. Maybe the casino is used to this that’s why it’s easy for them to make an excuse. I personally doubt she'll win the case since the NY Gaming Commission already sided with Resort World. The said machine's maximum payout is supposedly $6500 only.

It was already very suspicious at first. The casino wants to discuss today's winning on the next day? that sounds ridiculous. They can discuss it for further details on the next day, but they must provide a proof of winning or a claim stub signed by the casino and the winner.
That was nothing but a deliberate plan when someone wins a huge prizes. They need at least a day to fabricate a story that the machine malfunctioned and a fake proof will be provided as well.
