Synchronization issues is something I noticed with Unstoppable Wallet the first time I tested it and it immediately gave me bad vibes and I didn't like it. This is again something related to the wallet not syncing properly. Does the problem at least get fixed after the transaction confirms on the blockchain or after a restart of the app or do the wrong balances remain for a lengthier time?
It was not fixed at all. Although, after some weeks, it later got fixed on the second device but not fixed on the first device. This is it:

The wallet has zero balance and not £72.7.

Thats a great help. Another thing when i create a new wallet why it is saying "recommended" on the 12-word passphrase? Isn't the 24-word passphrase is more secure and shouldn't they recommend that  Huh or it is better to to create 12 words recovery phrase along with an extended passphrase?
The recommendation is not for a passphrase. It's for the seed/recovery phrase. 12-word seed phrases provide you with 128 bits of entropy. 24-word seed phrases give you 256 bits on entropy. It's easy to see that the security is greater with the latter. However, bitcoin private keys only have 128 bits of entropy. If those ever become vulnerable, Bitcoin is already doomed to fail despite some wallets providing 256 bits on entropy.
If it happens that 128-bit entropy becomes vulnerable.
Bitcoin is not the only thing that's doomed to fail.  The bank system, e-commerce, and communication activities will be affected too. However, the quantum computer that has the potential to do so will take at least 50 years to be developed, and I believe the government dont want to see that happen.

For LTC, I've had sync problems since October 2023. It's been working correctly on and off, which makes it unreliable. For this reason, I finally uninstalled Unstoppable wallet. It doesn't do the name justice.

It seems the sync problems have been there for a while now. I thought it could be because of the network/internet connection, so the wallet couldn't sync properly. When I ran the Bitcoin node, it needed to download the blocks to get updated. At first, I thought Unstoppable Wallet did something similar to get updated with the network. But if I am not wrong, the wallet does not need to download the blocks, unlike the nodes. All it needed was to get some information from the blockchain and update the wallet balance. I'm unsure if this is too hard for the developers to fix. The sync issue seems to be the known one.

I wouldn't like to speculate how much time would be needed to develop a quantum computer that is strong enough to break modern encryption. 10 years ago, no one would have told you how far we would get with AI and look where we are now. Can you imagine how it will look 10 years from now?

Many industries would be affected. That is true. But I think the centralized banking industry would have an easier time adopting a quantum-resistant algorithm than the decentralized Bitcoin. God forbid that we will have five equally good solutions and we as a community would have to pick one. It's more likely that we would get two new forks and new splits in the community than a majority vote for one solution.

You can be right about this but we can only speculate. It is also very possible that there will not be hard fork relating to this but what I think might cause hardfork later might be what caused it in the past like after a quantum resistant algorithm, some people may need hardfork for cheaper transaction. If the quantum resistant algorithm is still more about how segwit is right now in fee or having lower fee, there may not be any problem. Also this is just a speculation.

When altcoins developers are building quantum resistant algorithm, so why would it take bitcoin developers to build one? You mean as it can lead to hard fork?
Many altcoin projects are centralized or not as nearly decentralized as Bitcoin. You often have a leader, owner, a president or CEO that calls the shots. Sometimes you have a foundation or a council that makes the decisions. With all that it's easier to make a decision. If you have one or a handful of individuals who will make the decision about what direction to take.

With Bitcoin, you don't have that one person or a small group that will lead everyone. Many more interested parties are involved. Significant decisions made about the future need a majority vote in favor to be implemented. That's why it's much more difficult to make changes and introduce new features into Bitcoin. We must remain optimistic that egos will be put aside when it is time to make a decision that impacts everyone and everything. Especially if it's a decision that could signal the end of Bitcoin if we don't get it right.

Yes, it is hard to speculate how much time or years it will take before the quantum computer that can break entropy, but it is easier for the decentralized Bitcoin ecosystem to adopt quantum resistant algorithm.
According to the information I once read by Quside, the platform that developed new generation quantum technologies for connectivity and efficient computation.  There's already a team working on quantum cryptography (like code based cryptography, lattice based cryptography) and post-quantum cryptography, which are said to be classical algorithms to combat quantum decryption, so I don't see any reason why it will be hard to have the creation of quantum resistant algorithms in Bitcoin.

You are talking about the creation of quantum-resistant algorithms but I am talking about a different thing: adopting and implementing that algorithm in Bitcoin.

It's not as easy as saying we created this quantum-resistant algorithm and tomorrow we are merging it into Bitcoin. That's not how it works. You are going to see BIPs with proposals to introduce the new schemes. Developers will have to review it, test it, get community feedback. Bugs and vulnerabilities would have to be looked for and corrected. All this can take a long time. Remember Segwit, the blocksize wars, and the aftermath? Remember Taproot and how long that took?

A decision has to be made if the new algorithm will be introduced through a soft or hard fork. Either way, there will be new addresses and scripts and changes to signatures. Everyone will have to move their coins from previous quantum-vulnerable scripts to the new quantum-resistant one. The bigger the change, the more drama, fighting, and resistance you can expect. Again, think back to the Segwit and Bitcoin Cash days.

And then all of the software we use with Bitcoin has to be updated to support the new quantum-safe scheme and new address format. That goes for nodes, miners, exchanges, etc.

Ok. Now I understand your stance. However, Bitcoin functions normally in a world with powerful quantum computers with no drawback, but the computer can be used in mining to increase the chance of finding a block early if used the Grover’s algorithm.

The computer is actually not a threat to Bitcoin, but it's a threat to the entropy used in creating the Bitcoin wallet we used, particularly those whose public key is already exposed online. Quantum computers can be used in the future to derive private keys from public keys and this is why the vulnerabilities need to be addressed ahead of time. Imagining someone stealing the Bitcoin you accumulated for years in one day?

About the decision to be made, I believe what we'll likely see is a soft fork for the implementation of quantum-resistant signature algorithm.

My main solution: I don't use altcoins Tongue I still have dust amounts in LTC's Electrum clone, and Feather Wallet for XMR, but those are on desktop.

I've never used them so can't tell you this.

So, which wallet do you use these days for altcoins and especially what is the best wallet for stablecoins (USDT / USDC) ?
It might be considered slightly off-topic but since it's in relation to Unstoppable Wallet it could pass. Consider the blockchains of those stablecoins you want to use. If it's Ethereum or an L2 like Avalanche, Arbitrum, BSC, Polygon, etc., why not stay with MetaMask? If you are engaging with the expensive Tron network, you can try TronLink Pro. Both recommendations are for mobile wallets just so we are clear.

Keep an eye on next update of Unstoppable wallet, they are adding support for Monero soon.
They also announced more updates in future to enable anonymous swaps between Bitcoin, Monero and other coins.
It is good to have competition with Cake wallet and give people options to choose what they like more.

-snip-

Not only that but according to their announcement[1] they're also releasing the first Monero SDKs for both Android (Kotlin) as well as iOS. This means that going forward, implementing XMR in mobile apps is not going to be as complicated as before.

That is cool, but most people won't notice what is happening in the background.
I am more interested to see their new upcoming private cross-chain swaps.
They are claiming No KYC and No middlemen, but let's see if they can actually deliver this.

The only thing that concerns me if they will be able add support from Monero seamlessly without the users facing the sync issues. We have seen that they still not be able to resolve the LTC syncing issue despite claiming in lot of updates that these issues have been resolved. I hope we do not face any such issues when they add XMR.
Even the other privacy coin ZEC (Zcash) takes considerably more time syncing  Huh

Litecoin synchronizing issue has been fixed but another problem that I encountered while using the wallet was when I sent litecoin to another address. I think I have posted this on this thread before and it was before the synchronizing issue was fixed. I clicked on send, the transaction was pending for minutes or hours and the transaction dropped. I clicked on max again and sent the coin but the same thing happened. It was the third time that I was able to send the coins at the time but it look time. It was very frustrating. I hardly have altcoins except stable coins, which is the reason I do not know if the issue will still occur or not. But as for the synchronizing issue for litecoin, it is now better.

Cake wallet improved syncing for monero and it's much faster now, so I expect something similar with Unstoppable wallet.
They had issues in past that made me switch to Cake wallet, but with upcoming updates I will try Unstoppable again.

Another interesting update for Unstoppable wallet, they just added integrated NYM VPN inside wallet settings, and there is exclusive discount from the app.

They are claiming No KYC and No middlemen, but let's see if they can actually deliver this.

So it looks like you can now do cross chain swaps within the wallet: https://t.me/unstoppable_announcements/383

They're simply using Thorchain just like some of the other wallet providers out there (Trustwallet, Ledger, OneKey, etc.)
