Since the main topic is no longer active (Unstoppable Wallet,) I decided to create this topic to encourage members to download this wallet, conduct discussions about it, and then build on it. It is recommended instead of closed-source and poorly programmed wallets, which are often the first choice for everyone who wants to download a multi-crypto wallet.

I downloaded and installed the wallet a few months ago to see what all the fuss was about.
I remember that it gives you a choice on the length of your seed. You can use any of the standard number or words from 12 to 24. There is a button to enable and disable TOR and seeds can be extended with passphrases.

I didn't like that you can skip the seed backup step because lazy people can lose their money that way. And then they will blame Bitcoin, Unstoppable wallet, the world, and their mothers for making them the way they are. However, before you can generate a new BTC address to receive coins, the software asks you to backup your seed. I didn't check how this works exactly, but I am guessing the words will be displayed to you and you will have to prove you wrote them down by entering them back into the software.

Some other things I noticed is long sync times with the servers. I only tried it with bitcoin and it took several minutes to sync. If I was using this as a multicurrency wallet with 5 or 10 different coins, where each new coin requires 5-10 mins of syncing, it becomes a problem for people with slow internet and old phones.

The wallet doesn't support the same number of alts as closed-source clients. It can happen that the coin or token you want to use this wallet with isn't supported. The official website doesn't mention which assets are supported and it really should.

2) If there is a way, I could not find it to have more then 1 account per coin. Might just be a Dave thing but I have BTC1 and BTC 2 and BTC 3 along with LTC 1 and LTC 2 and so on all on my phone. All small amounts since it's a hot wallet but it helps with the disaster I call accounting. (mining goes here, raffles go there, other sales go someplace else and so on)

3) As others have mentioned it can be slow.

Not a bad wallet if it works for you, but since it did not work for me I passed. But in the little time I had it that is what I noticed. I just tried again when I saw this post and the screen shots for the can't add just came from now so it's still an issue.

Someone asked if DOGE was supported by Unstoppable two years ago, and according to reddit it wasn't at the time. And looking at your picture, I don't see a enable/disable switch next to DOGE. The same type of switch that is visible for DOLA, DORA, and the other alts there.

I am using Coinomi [yes I know all the issues with it but at the moment even with the increase in crypto prices over the last week it has a whopping $202 in it] the time and effort and everything else to either use separate wallets for all the coins is just not worth it for the amounts involved in a hot insecure wallet. Because ANY wallet on a phone is hot and not at all secure.

As for it not being supported, if that is the case then don't display the option to add it. I can see that being an issue as people try different things to see if they can get it to work before they give up and search for help so now they have created a bunch of wallets with a bunch of seeds for no reason.

The vulnerabilities with Coinomi only concerned the desktop version of the software. Allegedly, of course. No one can verify or check anything anyway. Assuming you mean the issue with seeds ending up on Google servers for spellchecking. 

As for it not being supported, if that is the case then don't display the option to add it.

I was just guessing that could be the reason. Since you still have it installed on your phone, can you try with Tron or USDT over Tron? I tested that a few moths ago when I downloaded the wallet, but I don't remember if there was an error message like on your end or if I just couldn't find those assets listed.

I download and used Unstoppable wallet for some time and it works fine for me.
For someone who is not using bunch of shitcoins and likes privacy this is very good option for mobile wallet, but it can be improved in many areas and they should add list of supported coins.

AtomicDEX.io might be one more alternative you can use for dogecoin, it also supports Bitcoin and other shitcoins, and you can even exchange coins if there is enough volume.
I don't like that for Bitcoin they are still using old style addresses starting with 1, and wallet is still in beta phase, but it works fine.
Probably best option for multicoin wallet is combination with some hardware wallets, but I saw other wallet called Stack also supports doge.

Other than being closed source, I don't know last time Coinomi developers updated their desktop wallet, not sure if similar situation is with their mobile app.

There are a couple of options for multicoin wallets, each have their own good and bad things. Although I don't like them in general, for a few dollars of coins they
work well enough. As I said, storing real amounts in a hot wallet is just asking for trouble. I tried atomicDEX.io it did work with no issues, didn't do something I needed, don't remember what. But no problems with it not working.

Other than being closed source, I don't know last time Coinomi developers updated their desktop wallet, not sure if similar situation is with their mobile app.

The size of the apk file is about 70 MB. So if you use this wallet for a bunch of altcoins, you might soon run out of internal storage on your phone. Having to download 3 GB on my phone to work with just one asset is far from optimal. Especially if we consider how many regions still don't have quality and affordable mobile data tech. Zcash has a relatively big block size plus a block time of just over 1 minute. That could be the reason for the storage requirements. Still, Unstoppable Wallet isn't exactly a light client.

I check the data usage and for me I don't like it to use this app wallet. Because I also tried to downloaded it at my moblie device,
And when I checked the apps, the design and interface of the platform was definitely nice and cool. But the only thing problems
in which I don't like for this apps is that it consume a lot space of my phone device which can cause to make slow of phone system,

I don't know to others here who tried if they also notice what I had noticed.

As for 3GB usage for Zcash, it's because it's privacy coin where the wallet have to download all block and check whether any transaction belong to the user.

It's supported on coinomi too, you can check the usage in above screenshot.

On the flip side you can easily, for BTC, have Coinomi use your own electrumx server instead of theirs.
Everything is a bit of give and take.

I will still, keep saying this although others might disagree. ANY wallet on your phone is neither secure or private. Unless you are using a custom Android build that shuts down all the phone home stuff.
Since you can't do that at all with an iPhone, it's pointless to even think that anything you do on one cannot be monitored.

True, although it comes down to how much privacy/security people want. I expect some people would be fine with VPN and SPV wallet.

I probably have a not so relatable experience with you guys.  Because many of you have a normal phone with default apps and download stuff through the default Google or Apple app store.  But I will share my experience anyway

You can not imagine how thankful I am for Unstoppable Wallet developers doing their job.  I can not be thankful enough for the existence of this application.

I own a de Googled Android phone.  My only app store is F-Droid, which only publishes fully Open Source applications.  Yes.  This means a LOT of the widely used applications can not be downloaded at all.  Some applications replacing original apps for widely known services are very badly made.  Twitter clients replacing the original app for example.  Reddit clients too.  But I already got used to it.  Only few people care about Open Source stuff.  So, most of it is Closed Source.  So, this means you get shitty apps because nobody really develops them so it would overload the developers if they wanted to make everything neatly working with few to no bugs and glitches.

You can imagine F Droid excludes over 99 percent of the Cryptocurrency Wallets for Android.  Up until Unstoppable came to existence, this meant I could not use pretty much any Cryptocurrency besides Bitcoin (and even for Bitcoin, the available options were very lacking) from my phone.  Then the Wallets available for Bitcoin were very lacking too.  Annoying as fuck.

Then Unstoppable Wallet came to existence.  I used to reload the F-Droid repo every week and look for a new Wallet but never expected this coming.  Unstoppable Wallet is like the Wallet I would have made if I were a Wallet developer.  You get Open Source.  You get Tor.  You get multiple Cryptocurrencies.  Sweet User Interface.  Non Custodial.  Even price tickers.  TimeLock.  Themes.  Multiple base currencies.  SWAPS!  OH MY GOD!  You can not comprehend how happy I am with it.

I wish it just showed more TX information.  Fee and Satoshi per vByte, number of Confirmations with a check mark instead of just a Confirmed / Unconfirmed status with no counting of Confirmations.  Inputs, Outputs and maybe other stuff.  Currently, the only way you can see more information is by going to a Block Explorer yourself which to me makes no sense if you are running Unstoppable through Tor and want Privacy.

I do not know yet how the Tor works on it but if it does not change identity by default for every account and transaction checked, which I imagine is not how Tor works right now on the Wallet, then I wish they added this option.  If the same identity is used for all accounts, it means all information can be connected to one identity.

My experience with Unstoppable Wallet is mostly extremely positive.  It lacks a few things here and there.  But I see improvements every update.  All the issues I had with it were solved within one to three updates.

I agree.  I am typically not THAT lazy to not care about backing up my Seed Phrase but now that you mentioned it, it is definitely an issue.  I still do not have my Seed Phrase backed up because I forget about it every time.  I believe all Wallets should have mandatory Seed Backup before you get to use it.  This is not only a preventive measure but also imposes a good education.  When the user downloads a Wallet the second time, they should already know they need a piece of clear paper and a pen.

You can also download the APK file of Unstoppable Wallet from GitHub. I assume that would work even on your deGoogled phone. Or you can get it using a desktop machine and transfer it to your phone through cable, Bluetooth, or whatever.

Firefox is open-source. You could access your Twitter and Reddit accounts using Firefox without any app by just using the browser. But I am guessing your problem is with these platforms and not in the way you access them.

You can also use open source AuroraStore if you want to use some apps that are not open source, and there are good alternatives for F-Droid as well, like IzzyOnDroid and Droid-ify that have more apps.
Good option is to install apps directly from github source, it can be set up to auto-update as well with some workarounds, and that way you can install most Bitcoin wallets.

Then the Wallets available for Bitcoin were very lacking too.  Annoying as fuck.

I don't know what degoogled phone you own, but Pixels with GrapheneOS work almost with everything, they even have imitation of all google services.

My experience with Unstoppable Wallet is mostly extremely positive.  It lacks a few things here and there.  But I see improvements every update.  All the issues I had with it were solved within one to three updates.

It's important to mention that Unstoppable wallet is audited several times, and WalletScrutiny verified it can be reproduced from open source code.
Good thing is that I see new wallets are coming out that following similar path, and competition is always good to have.

You know what!  I created a new account to test this out and you are right!  I can not even get a Receiving Address unless I back up my Seed Phrase.  Yet, I can use another Wallet I already have.  Does this mean I have already done the Backup someday?  Now I am so confused!

I chose not to install Closed Source applications on my phone.  I did test Aurora Store before and it works just perfect for some body who wants just to move away from Google.  IzzyOnDroid and Droid-ify, I have no idea about.  Will have to check them out.

The issue is not about having or not having GS or replacements for the Services installed.  It is that Open Source is not a very demanded type of software today.  So if I want an actually good Wallet, I have little options.  How many actually useful and good Open Source Bitcoin Wallets are there?  Count Mycelium and Unstoppable and you got to about half of the truly decent ones already.

Since you have serious privacy concern, i'd like to mention it Unstoppable wallet currently use BIP37 to obtain data from full node which is vulnerable to deanonymization[1].

How many actually useful and good Open Source Bitcoin Wallets are there?  Count Mycelium and Unstoppable and you got to about half of the truly decent ones already.

IMO Samourai[2] is also decent option, although in past it has some controversy. Electrum is good option if you don't care about it's dated UI.

Why? If there are no issues or bugs there is no reason for them to push a new build.

Outside of that if you are really concerned about privacy and security you are probably better pulling the APK from developers site, checksuming it and verifying the signatures and installing it, or going one step past there compiling it yourself.

And, obviously as others have said they are missing a lot of wallets that are open source (electrum)

Until they get some of the more popular alts added, and make some other changes, I don't think they are going to gain much traction.

Have you tried Harpy for Twitter? (however, it may come an end due to this) and Infinity for Reddit?

Thank you for bringing this up, I hadn't heard of this wallet before.  After doing a bit of reading I came up with a few questions, but the most critical pertains to this claim:

Then I got to thinking about the semantics of the claim, and that made me a bit suspicious: "There are no servers keeping user accounts or any kind of identifiers."  So a server does exist, but it doesn't log sensitive information?  If so, who's running the server, Horizontal Systems?  Doesn't that make it centralized?

If Horizontal Systems is running the server software, is it available for peer review?  Can I run a server myself?  I don't see a server package listed in Horizontal Systems' GitHub, maybe I just didn't look hard enough.

When did you first install and create your wallet? I played around with Unstoppable back in November/December. Seed backup was needed back then. Maybe you worked with an older version where they didn't have that requirement yet.

The most important word here is keeping. Servers exist and you interact with them, but the developers are saying your information doesn't get logged and stored. Despite the wallet's open-source nature, this is not something you can check. I don't think you can. Their servers may or may not be logging everything you do. I wonder how they could prove that isn't the case

I see that the wallet is open source, but why isn't the server software available for review, regardless of it's licensing?  Again, I may have missed it while I perusing their GitHub, but I dug fairly deep and didn't see anything relating the SPV server they use to connect wallets to nodes.  Claims of "genuine privacy" and "decentralized" that are not only unsubstantiated, but also used in ways that come off as deceptive makes me nervous.  This is the kind of stuff that breeds distrust in the cryptosphere.

I want to apologies to Husires for not following his local rule; i.e. I did not download, install, or use the wallet app, and I will not until my concerns about these claims are addressed.  Honestly, I'm growing more suspicious of this service, and the pretty website and polished-looking app isn't helping.

Isn't that just the price you pay for privacy? I once checked a years-old backup of Bitcoin Wallet (on my old phone), and it took days to sync. I'm not sure how it works, but if this means they wallet's server doesn't know my addresses, it's worth the wait.

Yeah, the website is quite useless for that purpose. I see that they added a timeline on the top. Maybe you can follow it into the past to check the release notes to see if they mention which alts they included. They don't have a contact form, live chat or a support ticket. You might find more info on their Discord or reddit channels.

I was interested in trying the wallet due to some USDT I have on Tron, but they don't support that network at all. The only way to know for sure is to install the client and try to find and enable the assets from the list. If it doesn't work, they don't support it.

I did a little more research (without joining another discord) but this thing seems to be only semi-active and the lack of clear documentation is slightly discouraging at the moment.

For users who are using a Trust Wallet, I would recommend switching to the unstoppable wallet. I am not saying tha there is any issue with trust wallet but it's hard to trust 100% on trust wallet 1) because it is closed source and 2) It is owned by Binance and i don't feel comfortable with it.

Previously I was using Trust Wallet for altcoins storage but now i have migrated the majority of my coins from trust wallet to unstoppable wallet. In case, you can afford a hardware wallet, that's best but until you do not have hardware wallet, keep Unstoppable Wallet as your daily driver.

hodler is a plugin to bitcoincore, that makes it possible to lock bitcoins until some time in the future. It relies on CHECKSEQUENCEVERIFY and Relative time-locks. It may be used with other forks of Bitcoin that support them. UnstooppableWallet opts in this plugin and enables it for Bitcoin as an experimental feature.

To lock funds we create P2SH output where redeem script has OP_CSV OpCode that ensures that the input has a proper Sequence Number(nSequence) field and that it enables a relative time-lock.

The first factor that made me choose to use an unstoppable wallet on mobile is because it is open source, non-custodial and private apart from having several types of addresses.

Usually when we talk about using the Unstoppable wallet, the main purpose is to store our altcoins in that wallet. For Bitcoin storage, Electrum is recommended.

What I noticed about Unstoppable wallet is that it has tokens (coin existing on another coin blockchain) or those coins that are pegged. The doge it has is on BSC, not on doge blockchain. Some altcoins that are on the wallet are shitcoins. Not supporting Algorand, Quantum and many other coins and it is supporting just the peg of some coins, or supporting tokens. The only reason I prefer the wallet is that it is open source and support passphrase, but there are some shit tokens on the wallet.

I don't know what you wanted to say really...
All coins except Bitcoin are shitcoins, especially that examples you mentioned, they are one of the worst shitcoins and it does not matter to me on what blockchain they are on.
Only usable altcoin that is missing is maybe monero for it's privacy, but all coins are disabled by default so you don't even see them if you don't use them.

I was using trust wallet before and there were no sync issues there for most of the coins which i had there in that wallet. It was after that FTX hack and this theymos post Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts, i stopped believing the exchanges and moved my funds to the Electrum and Unstoppable wallet.

That post is specifically asking for the ZEC wallet which sync real time and i had no idea of it because before that all my ZEC were on the binance exchange.

I noticed it as well. But I also noticed that if the synching is taking long, you can be doing other things on your device, like open another app and the synching will still continue and be completed.

If you are using Binance on a smartphone, I am assuming you work with either Binance's iOS or Android app. A portfolio and wallet overview is available there. Unstoppable Wallet is a mobile wallet only. It doesn't have a desktop version. I don't see the point of looking at your Binance portfolio through a second app, like the Unstoppable Wallet if you can and already use the exchange's dedicated app. But that's for each individual to decide.

You are right. If they have plans to integrate at least 5-10 of the most-used exchanges, then Unstoppable Wallet becomes useful for its portfolio overview as well.

virasog was probably talking about individual crypto assets and not separate wallets. If you have one wallet on Unstoppable Wallet with a few coins in it, you are going to have to sync each of the blockchains and download data to your phone. It takes time.

The Wallet is separate from the Transactions. I'd expect to see all Transactions "under" each coin, instead of on a separate tab where I either see all coins, or have to select one again.
All in all there are some design choices in Unstoppable Wallet that I would not have made myself.

It is not suggesting you to give up your coins, they are technical indicators.

By default, the timeframe is 1 day. That means it is giving the information based on one day analyses which can only be useful for day traders. It has 1 hours, 4 hours, 1 day and a week indicator. 1, 4 hours and 1 day are useful for days traders while 1 week is useful for swing traders. Indicators may also not be accurate and that makes trading to be dangerous. As a holder, you will not bother to check something like that.

But you are right, wallets should not be for trading. Although, those are not the real indicators, it is only suggesting buy or sell but not indicating it in candle sticks that will tell the information in charts instead of suggesting it. In my opinion, I do not see it useful and candle sticks indicators would be better and not misleading.

What if you're a Newbie, got this wallet recommended, bought your first Bitcoin, and then the wallet tells you "sell"! I'm not sure yet if I'll be recommending this wallet.

A Newbie will not buy and sell based on this indication because he wouldn't know how to use the swap option in the unstoppable wallet. By the time he learns the swapping coins, he should be familiar with basic trading and know what he is doing (when to buy/sell). If he just experiments with different options in the wallet without learning, then it is only his mistake.
Don't know why people won't drive a car on the highway until they have sufficient experience, but they will experiment with their crypto with incomplete knowledge.

By default, the timeframe is 1 day. That means it is giving the information based on one day analyses which can only be useful for day traders. It has 1 hours, 4 hours, 1 day and a week indicator. 1, 4 hours and 1 day are useful for days traders while 1 week is useful for swing traders. Indicators may also not be accurate and that makes trading to be dangerous. As a holder, you will not bother to check something like that.

As a new user of the unstoppable wallet, I agree that the technical indicators contained in the unstoppable wallet will not be the user's focus because trading users have their own strategies in determining when to buy and sell.
At least with the availability of hang technical indicators containing periods of 1 hour, 4 hours, 1 day and 1 week, unstoppable wallet users who often carry out routine transactions get an idea that can strengthen their plans for that time when trading on other exchanges.

And why would you even care about default settings for anything you use?

Just updated my Unstoppable Wallet to the latest version. Below is the key highlights shown of this update when I was downloading it.




In the markets tab, i see only Overview, News and Watchlist. The transaction tab will show all the transactions. Don't remember how it was before the upgrade as i don't actively use the wallet. Only using it mainly for storing the altcoins for the mid to long term.  Anyway i like the new interface.

I just clicked hexagonal settings icon, than in Appearance I disabled Market Tab.
After that I only have three icons on the bottom, first for coin balance, second for transactions, and third one for settings.
I was using wallet version 0.34.1 and no issues for me so far.

I never had issue with Tor on older versions, and I always keep it turned ON in settings.
I will wait a bit before updating to latest version 0.35, current one works just fine for me.

I have this weird issue where sometimes Unstoppable Wallet is very slow on syncing or even fails when there is no change with my internet connection. I also failed to connect to Tor. I have seen the donation display in the version 0.35 update after I updated the application. It turns out that the coins I activated actually appeared in the donation section, because for bitcoin I only activated two BIP84 and BIP44.

Are you familiar with timelock transactions or not? Maybe you should read some threads related to it before you try it. I don't see the point of making an experiment with it unless you have some need to make timelock-related transactions, especially if you're not that familiar with how it works. Not to mention they labeled it as an experimental feature. I'd rather wait and see until it becomes stable.

There is nothing hard about lock time. But I see it better on wallets like Electrum or using Coinb.in for it. On the wallet I just mentioned, you can decide to also use a specific date and time, or you can use blockheight instead. On Electrum, you can even use unix time if you want.

On Unstoppable wallet, once you have enabled timelock under settings, and you want to make bitcoin transaction, you can set the time you want the bitcoin transaction to be broadcasted.

      

I do not like how the time lock is on Unstoppable for now, but some people may like as is it.

I do not see how it can lead to loss of coins, it can not. But it is possible that the time lock may not work as expected which might be the experimental Unstoppable wallet developers are referring to.

I will prefer to know the version they introduced timelock.

Yes it does but you have to enable it in settings because it's not enabled by default.
I can confirm that previous version 0.35 really had a problem with Tor connection, so I had to get back using previous version, now I can switch to 0.35.1

Maybe. But I did not notice any difference. I finally concluded that I did not noticed any difference when I opened the second wallet that I left unopened for a long time, bitcoin was very slow to finally synchronized as usual which we have talked about on one or two of our previous posts. The same for litecoin.

I've noticed it before but never really paid attention until now: I sent a small LTC transaction to my own Unstoppable Wallet, and it didn't show up. Most wallets would show an unconfirmed transaction within seconds. By now, it has 2 confirmations, and it's still not visible. That's not good.

Update: At 27 confirmations, the transaction was still missing. I switched from "From Blockchain" to "API" and it showed up. Something isn't working correctly.

A bit of explanation is here. We need to first add the crypto to our wallet and then get its deposit address and then we can deposit that crypto to our unstoppable wallet. Now we can even remove the crypto from the interface but the amount of coins still remains in our wallet (in blockchain).

There is no explorer where you can find all the Unstoppable wallets coins and their balances listed in once place. You have to copy the bitcoin address and check its balance blockchian.info. Similarly, for Ethereum and eth related tokens can be found at Etherscan. Same goes for BSC based tokens (https://bscscan.com/). Litecoin has its own explorer and so there are many coins having their own block explorers.

I understand your point of view and i will suggest you that when you deposit in any new altcoins in unstoppable wallet, make a note of that altcoin in your diary or somewhere. So in case you do delete the altcoins from the main screen, you always know in which altcoins you have balance. There may be any better way but i can only think of this way right now.

I understand what you are asking. I played around with Unstoppable Wallet very briefly in the beginning and don't remember its interface at all now. You are worried that if you delete a coin/token from the portfolio view, that you won't know or might forget that you had it there in the first place. It's a valid question.

Does Unstoppable have a "scan all blockchains" feature or something like that, where the software will go through all supported assets to see if there are any transaction records that correspond to your portfolio? I highly doubt it, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Or can you access the complete transaction history associated with your wallets without adding individual coins to the software?

You better remember or take note of what you transfer there. That's the safest way. Going back to Ledger Live, when you install the software, its portfolio view is completely empty and doesn't show any balance either. You have to add the coins and tokens to it and let it scan the blockchain before it can display your balance. It's the same thing. If you forgot you moved a certain altcoin to your Ledger and don't have the app installed on the device or the coin added to your portfolio, you wouldn't know it's there. What I don't know, though, is if your wallet's transaction history will show records of transactions you performed that currently aren't part of your portfolio view.

I think that if you were to open a website like CoinMarketCap and read the names of coins from top to bottom, you would remember some or maybe all of the assets you put on your wallet. I don't know how it is with closed-source multicoin wallets like Trust Wallet, Exodus, or some of the other brands. Does anyone know if they are able to successfully recover all your assets without further input by the user regarding what blockchains to scan?

At the same time, CoinGecko shows a total number of only 10.4k coins and tokens. I am guessing CMC counts one token available on multiple blockchains several times. For instance, tether is a token you can find all over the place, so CMC will say there are 7 tether tokens (or whatever number of blockchains they can be found on). They might do the same for all wrapped, liquid, or 2nd-layer assets.

It has been 5 days ago, but I have just known about the new update today, Unstoppable wallet version 0.36.0

What is added in the update:

1. Security enhancements: Auto-Lock, Random Numpad and Duress Mode.

What I like more about this upgrade is the Duress Mode. I have only noticed something like this on Bluewallet before, in a way you can have a fake wallet if you enter the fake wallet password and the real wallet will not be seen (no wallet is fake but I think you understand what I mean). Duress mode on Unstoppable wallet makes this possible, and you can set different password for your different wallet to be only seen.

I set duress wallet 1 password as 11111
Duress wallet 2 password as 22222
Maybe wallet 3 is having just little amount of coins (fake wallet). Not fake wallet but I think you understand what I am implying. And the duress password is 33333

These ideas of an attacker and decoy wallets becomes quite complicated for regular people and even for people who are just trying to be practical and spend their bitcoin in various ways having some hot wallets and some cold wallets, but sometimes moving coins from hot wallets to cold wallets and sometimes the other way around, and surely maybe there are ways to mix coins and to make the decoy wallets seem more plausible, but how much time do we want to be spending on the matters of making our decoys more and more plausible. 

For example, we go through various efforts to make our decoys plausible, and then if it ends up that the attacker happens to have information about 3 out of 10 of our wallets, and we give him our decoy wallet #6, then at that point s/he has information about 4 out of 10 of our wallets... and we might not even know, until we are being beaten with the $5 wrench, about which wallets s/he has information and which ones not...and if we are being beaten, our thinking might not be as clear as we wished as it would have been under such scenario.

Surely one of the best defenses may well to be attempting to not be telling the whole world about our bitcoin wallets, and so if we are interacting and transacting, there may be ways to get used to rotating through hot wallets and decoy wallets so that there are no real ways for the attacker to really know about the other ones that may or may not exist, and so yeah, how persistent is s/he and is s/he trying to get us to give over bitcoin that we don't have.. but s/he has "good reasons" to believe that we might have more than what we are proclaiming to have during the waterboarding process.

People can do this because of simple privacy purposes, maybe you don't want someone to see all your addresses, transactions and balance.
Not everyone is running around with wrenches trying to steal crypto from your phone, in fact this are very rear cases and targets are mostly people who publicly brag about crypto ownership.

Golden words.  You made me smile.  You prepare for the worst all your life and then if the worst comes to you, you are facing what you have always feared.  How many of us are strong enough to successfully get a wrench to their bones and accept a possibility of being forever handicapped or even dying in a grotesque way, having all of our children and family suffer just to protect a digital asset.  Would you give up your legs for the Bitcoin you own:  Would you rather be paralyzed with Bitcoins on your phone or would you give the Bitcoins up and continue living a normal life.

Worth a lot of money or not.  Our passion or not.  Bitcoin should still be less important than our lives, health and sanity.  Under such scenario, many would simply freeze.  Others would give up enough information the attacker needs to get what they needed.  Others would just never give up and would die for their Bitcoins.  But the possibilities are infinite.

Maybe the attacker stops if you give them just one Wallet.  Not the 50 bucks one but maybe a chunkier one while still holding on to the majority of your Coins.  How do you know however.  Maybe you give the attacker even 10 Wallets and they continue giving you the wrench.  Maybe the attacker is in fact a psycho.  Crazy guy who would never stop.

Maybe that is the point.  The attacker could have one purpose.  Getting as many Wallets from you while slowly KILLING you.  Not just hurting you until you give up.

Yep.. the element of surprise.. can sometimes not provide enough protection (even if your wrench or gun is BIGGer), and surely many people are honest in the world, but sometimes we might find ourselves in some kind of precarious position.  

Surely some folks live with many security systems, so any intruder has to get past the various security systems (or to be a house guest), but even those people with high security may well have some places in which they are vulnerable... who is wanting to live like that?  but sometimes there are instances in which societies break down because too many people get desperate, and then experiencing thieves, assault and robbery can even cause honest people to consider futility in terms of their history of having had acted honestly.. and seeing the less honest people getting ahead while they suffer and consider that their honesty might be keeping them in less prosperous circumstances... so sometimes even relatively "honest" people might get lured into performing desperate acts or even taking advantage of a situation.. and sure it is more difficult to confront someone directly rather than sneaking behind their back.

Easy solution: just add them all, and see what pops up. It becomes much more tricky if the wallet delisted one of your coins.

I set duress wallet 1 password as 11111
Duress wallet 2 password as 22222
Maybe wallet 3 is having just little amount of coins (fake wallet). Not fake wallet but I think you understand what I am implying. And the duress password is 33333

This is exactly what is the purpose of this and also it is explained in the update. If you are ever forced into an unfortunate situation where someone forces you to open up the wallet (at a gunpoint or something), you can open it with the wallet password which has a few amount of coins and this way your main wallet will remain safe.

The passphrase gives unlimited possibilities, the PIN only 1 million. And if you have 10 wallets, 1 in 100,000 PINs will be valid. I don't think it matters much in practice, just have your 24" wrench ready.

Passphrase will be generating different wallet (keys and addresses) in a way that without the passphrase, the wallet can not be compromised.

On Unstoppable wallet, the password is for different wallet entirely.

Which one has a weaker spot? Not worth comparing both because Ledgers is a hardware wallet and would be considered more secure in general. Although, if Ledger is the only hardware wallet that remains on earth, I will never use a hardware wallet because of obvious reasons.

No, even if you have altcoin address funded, you have to add it manually.

Don't forget that Ledger has two ways to allow access to the passphrase-protected account/s. One way is by entering the passphrase the way it was set up, which is more secure, but the other way is to connect the passphrase to a secondary PIN. That PIN is, at worst, 4 digits, and at best 8 digits long.

If you do not have a hardware wallet that is supporting many of these altcoins, you may be disappointed that Unstoppable wallet is the only wallet that is open source and supporting coins with their tokens (like Ethereum and ERC20 tokens), but not supporting many other altcoins that do not have tokens. I noticed this when I started using the wallet. It works good with those coins and their tokens, even no noticable synchronizing issue. But with other coins with no tokens, likely you will encounter synching issue while some other alcoins with no tokens are not supported.

But I like Unstoppable wallet because it is open source and because it is supporting passphrase. Hardly will you see multicoins wallet that will support passphrase.

It seems problematic to introduce kids to bitcoin through shitcoins.... or to consider that it would be good to go that route, even though I have some troubles considering any really good solution, yet it does not seem that we are getting very far away from the ideas of savings and/or sound money and/or investing (if that might be part of what you might be trying to teach your kids as well as financial responsibility and being responsible for their value once they get it).  But then, getting them into shitcoins seem to take a potential easy route out that is kind of like just considering the transactional value rather than the storage of value option that bitcoin provides but it does not have to be honored because bitcoin can also be transferred and transacted in, but there might be some costs in doing that.. I know kids frequently are not thinking that far out into the future, and a week or a month might seem to be a long time to many kids.. but then it seems problematic to end up potentially contributing to the kids to consider shitcoins as similar to bitcoin.. and maybe just getting back to the "just say no" values that surely sound better in theory rather than in practice.  

I can think of a couple of possible solutions, and one is to figure out some kind of a lightning wallet solution, even though there seem to be technical aspects with keeping many of them going.  Another possibility would be to hold their funds in some kind of a separate accounting that is held by you (the parent), and then once the funds reach a certainly high enough level to justify the fees (or periods when the fees go down), then to send the funds to a wallet that the kid controls.. if that is what you mean by giving to your kids is that they would also control the wallet.. and maybe you have some oversight and maybe not depending on their age and other aspects of your way of relating with them..

Some amounts may be insignificant for some people while the same amount can be insignificant for others. For example, someone may be storing 1 ETH in the unstoppable wallet and may keep it in the hidden wallet, as 2000$ may be a big amount of money for him, while the other person may store the same amount of ETH without hiddenly, as 2000$ may not be a big amount for him. Even one may have 0.5 ETH with him and he may saved each penny to gather 1000$ to get that ETH.

So there are many people who may have an insignificant amount of money stored in unstoppable wallets but that money is significant for them.

Charles-Tim already explains it. When I search for an unstoppable wallet on Play Store, the first result shows it with 3+ star ratings. Of course, I didn't scroll to see the actual ratings as I thought some competitors might be doing their business strangely.

But I like Unstoppable wallet because it is open source and because it is supporting passphrase. Hardly will you see multicoins wallet that will support passphrase.

At least it's still better than closed-source wallets. I will try to meet my needs with this one if I can.

If you have a lot of altcoins to store, then Unstoppable Wallet can be your best choice. (In case you do not have a hardware wallet).

For bitcoins, I will still prefer the Electrum desktop version over the unstoppable wallets and there are many reasons for this. Electrum supports a lot of bitcoin features like RBF or multi signatures, which you may not find in the unstoppable wallet.

I am already using Electrum on my desktop and my Android, too. I never planned to hold altcoins for a long time. But, sometimes, we need to make some transactions, and sometimes, I buy altcoins for a short period. But, surely, it's better to hold my coins in my own wallet, even if it's for one day. I was using centralized exchanges to buy altcoins and kept them there. So, I decided to use a dedicated altcoin wallet. Previously, I used Trust Wallet. But, as you may know, it's a closed source, which is why everyone asks not to use it. For now, I am also moving to Unstoppable Wallet and using Electrum.

My take: nobody should keep "a significant amount" in a hot wallet, including "hidden" hot wallets. If you don't care about losing $2k, then by all means, keep it in a hot wallet for your daily spending. You're right. It sucks not being able to use on-chain Bitcoin for small amounts. Not only for my kids, but also for many people (like mentioned above) who would spend a week's worth of wages on a transaction fee.
Using LN isn't really an option either: I don't want to teach them to use custodial wallets, especially long-term, and non-custodial wallets come with high on-chain fees for opening and closing channels.

At the risk of deviating even further off-topic: I've seen it, but selling testnet coins isn't what I meant. I meant using testnet Bitcoin to buy real items (again: only for my own kids). Even though both of us admitted that we are deviating from topic, so I will keep it short to say that I don't feel that I have enough information to challenge you regarding how channels are managed in lighting, since I really only have a handful of transactions on a few lighting wallets.... and I have opened channels through my main two LN wallets which currently are Phoenix and Breez.. .. I can reserve comment for possibly another time and another thread, after I practice more on the opening and closing or even costs of adding value once opened, and hopefully some of these LN wallets are going to be getting more and more user-friendly regarding using them, maintaining them and just being available in more places whether peer to peer or more merchant adoption, so that we can have more places to practice using them and to better inform ourselves how on personal levels how they are working.

I am kind of glad that you said that it costs too much to open and close channels rather than it was too technical for them to use them (or too unreliable), so costs might be something that I can at least play around with attempting to analyze the idea for a while, or maybe some of the cost facts (avenues/options) might improve in the future.

Optimism (OP) is layer 2.

The fee is not ERC20 ether, but ether on Optimism network.

Search for ETH on Unstoppable wallet, you will see ETH (Optimism). That is the ether that you will use for the transaction. On exchanges and onchain transfer, the ether transaction fee on Optimism network is very cheap. So buy it should not be a problem.

Charles-Tim is correct. You are trying to pay transaction fees on network A using tokens that reside on Network B, and that's why it's not working. It's the same asset (ETH) but on a different chain or layer.

On exchanges and onchain transfer, the ether transaction fee on Optimism network is very cheap. So buy it should not be a problem.

Since he already has Ethereum in his Unstoppable Wallet, he should be able to use the internal swap feature to exchange the native ETH coins to the ETH tokens he needs on the Optimism layer, I assume.

It is true that many altcoins are regarded as shitcoins buy bitcoin enthusiasts, but I do not accept that he should make minimal research before asking such a question on this forum because you do not know if he searched online but unable to have a solution. How would you prefer me to call ethereum instead?
There are several synonyms I can use instead of word shit, for example crap, poop, dump, junk,etc.
Solana crap is now third or fourth by ''dominance'' but that doesn't mean it's any good, it still remains centralized junk supported by ftx scammer.
For me only good reason why someone would use shitcoins is because of privacy, or because they support stablecoins for temporary trading.

I can somehow agree with this.
I tested how Unstoppable works with stable coin USDT on tron network, and it's not good.
Most of the times it won't sync even if you leave it open for longer periods of time, so it's unusable in real life situation.
They often release updates so maybe some of the stuff is fixed, but I can't confirm that.

I don't see a need to use Unstoppable Wallet for coins like Litecoin, Dash, Bitcoin, or Tron. All those assets have native wallets that you can use. And it's safer than using the same keys for all coins. In case something goes wrong and the keys leak or the wallet gets hacked, you wouldn't lose everything you have in your wallet. You only lose one asset, while the rest remains safe.

I have just updated to the latest version and I noticed there is no more synchronizing issue for bitcoin all address types. But it is not my bitcoin wallet. One of the reasons is because it is not supporting replace-by-fee and because I will like my bitcoin to be on a bitcoin-only wallet. I still enjoy Electrum and Sparrow to a greater extent, while Electrum, Bluewallet and Samourai on mobile devices. But this is a good improvement.

I hope Unstoppable wallet developers will do the same for altcoins that have the synchronizing issue. Like litecoin and dash. I checked both but still the same like before. Both even take longer time to synchronize than before.

Also for altcoins users, if more coins is added would be good. A friend of mine asked me a wallet that is supporting algorand some weeks ago. I searched for it on Unstoppable wallet and I was unable to see it. There are still other well known coins that the wallet is not supporting.

There is another one that I see as a major improvement, especially for newbies. Which is spam transaction filter that would be against address poisoning. I see this as a major improvement because some people send their altcoins to attacker's address this way and only noticed when it is too late already.

Well they did mention in their version 0.37 update that there will be fast Bitcoin Sync and specifically mentioned for the bitcoin and bitcoin cash blockchains. However, i noticed that all other blockchain sync time is also considerably improved and the whole unstoppable wallets syncs within no time.

I think this update was much awaited and by far the best update in term of satisfying the user experience of using the app. Yes, there may be more better security updates in previous updates but those are all in the backend. This update will be mostly liked and noticed by everyone using the Unstoppable Wallet.

I have not tested bitcoin cash on it before but it synchronized very fast when I tried it just now.

There is no issue with my Litecoin and it instantly syncs once I open my unstoppable wallet. (Although i don't have much LTC in my wallet)

I noticed that BIP44 litecoin addresses are easier to synchronize with the blockchain, although it took up to 1 minutes before it did. I noticed that BIP 49 was the next. Followed by BIP84. While BIP 86 was the slowest that took more than 3 minutes to get to 26% just now and I did not wait for it to finish synchronizing.

You have coin on it. If you open the wallet often, likely you might not know the synchronizing issue. But if you just want to use it or enable it to be on your coin list, you will notice the issue. Litecoin transaction fee is low, can you transfer the coin and see if there is any issue as I had issue with it in the past with pending and failed transaction.

If you open your wallet daily, you may not know the issue, especially if you have the coin on your list and you have several coins in a way you are not seeing litecoin unless you scroll down. But if you leave your wallet for some days or a week without opening it, you will see the synchronizing issue.

Unstoppable wallet do not have replace-by-fee and child-pay-for-parent. No where to connect it to hardware wallet. No multisig function. I can not use it to spend coins with unconfirmed transaction. Unstoppable wallet have a long way to go if we are talking about bitcoin.

I just like how it is. Things are in a way I have my bitcoin separate from altcoins.

You can not use Unstoppable wallet offline as a cold wallet. Although, you can use it as a watch-only wallet.

There are still some syncing problem.

What I think should be fixed now is the litecoin, dash, zcash and other coins synching problem. Also to support other coins. I recommend a friend of mine the wallet. People need to be educated about why they want to use or experiment with different multi-coin wallets (open source or closed source) ?

You got the right point, that is storing BTC in Open Source software wallet only in small quantities. Ideally, it should be the amount that you need to transact with often otherwise if you're storing your bitcoins for the long term, hardware wallets / cold storage is the best option. For the altcoins too, you can store the ones that you need to trade often move in and out of the exchange and unstoppable wallet (in case you are a spot trader) and the investment of these altcoins should find a place in the hardware wallet.

I buy the coins on an exchange for trading in the spot, move them to my Unstoppable wallet, and then move them again to the exchange if i want to sell after a few days or sometimes use the Swap feature within the Unstoppable wallet to sell the coins for stable coins or bitcoin. The purpose of altcoin trading/investment should always be to increase your assets in stable coins or in bitcoins.

Multi-Chain wallets will always add every new network even if no one suggests it, they follow the trend but ignore the security on the network.

The process of using the exchange and wallet that you should do, I think is on the right track because you choose to go in and out of the exchange to the wallet because storing assets on the exchange is not a recommendation to do, even in small amounts.

Worst case, you can probably recover all your private keys using Ian Coleman's Mnemonic Code Converter (with the usual security precautions, such as offline, airgapped, curtains closed, and burn the computer in holy fire afterwards). I think they released a new update recently so maybe they fixed the problem you had, but you can't expect to have no issues with any multicoin wallets, more shitcoins just means more issues

Unlike Unstoppable, Stack wallet has coin control and it also have Tor support, but there are some bugs in desktop version (for me).

Since my initial installation, BNB on the BEP2 network has never synchronized properly for me. However, there haven't been any issues with BEP20. Is this really a bug in the application, or is it just me experiencing this?

I am facing a strange issue now on my unstoppable wallet and it is annoying and frustrating above all, I am not sure what to do in this case  

While my Bep20 tokens and tokens on other chains are syncing properly, but all of my Ethereum and Erc20 tokens aren't syncing at all in all the wallets in Unstoppable. I have tried to keep the wallet open thinking it may take longer to sync, but of no use.



I can't move/send my funds to any other wallet due to this syncing problem and i am really worried.
If anyone have some solution on how to fix this and why it happened in the first place ?  

I checked my version of the app and it is 0.37.5

And did you updated Unstoppable wallet to latest version?
Try disabling Tor and reinstalling wallet and see if that fixes your problem.

You can simply use seed words Unstoppable wallet generated and import them in some other wallet of your choice, maybe Stack wallet or OneKey wallet.

You can simply use seed words Unstoppable wallet generated and import them in some other wallet of your choice, maybe Stack wallet or OneKey wallet.

I haven't used the stack wallet however I am not comfortable with OneKey wallet as it is a bit techy to use as you have to add/select different chains to see their tokens. Unstoppable wallet is easy enough to use but I do not understand why this sync issue has been appearing in this wallet recently.

Have you tried to update the blockchain setting for the Ethereum chain in the unstoppable wallet?

Here are the steps:-

Go to Settings ---> Block Chain Settings ----> Ethereum

Here you will be asked to select the source the unstoppable wallet will use to sync the wallets.

Hi. This is quite helpful that can make ETH and USDT (ERC20) back to normal in my Unstoppable Android wallet.

I noticed, before the blockchain settings were carried out on the Unstoppable wallet, the Ethereum coin was used infura (mainnet.infura) for synchronizing wallet(s).
After the changes are made in the settings from the mainnet.infura to llamanodes, the result is synchronizing working well as usual.

Hi. I would like to say that after the problem of synchronizing ustoppable wallets on Ethereum and USDT (ERC20) coins that I also experienced, now they have the latest update available for the Infura problem in version 0.37.6 even though it is still in pre-release status.

Note that Unstoppable is using third party exchange partners for this swaps, they claim to all be decentralized (uniswap, pancake, 1inch) but I don't know how they are doing swaps with Bitcoin.
I also noticed that Tor settings enabled can sometimes create issue with some coins and swaps.

So true. I did not include these points and only informed one point which I quoted regarding 'users are now able to speed up / cancel pending Bitcoin transactions', as initial information which can then be seen for themselves by users who read it.

There have been two new releases after the release of version 0.38.1 [Pre-release]. Even though it is only a small update in two versions [0.38.2 and 0.38.3] it is useful for users because the developer focuses on existing issues.

The last three updates were of minor improvement. The main update that coin control was added has been discussed here. You can scroll up a little to see it immediately. It was version 0.38.0.

About the wallet working better, especially for bitcoin synchronization, the update was last year. That was on version 0.37 that was released on the 28th December of last year.

It would be nice if they could release desktop wallet in future.

Unstoppable wallet is becoming one of the best bitcoin wallets. It is having the necessary features that those bitcoin wallets are having. What I will like the wallet developers to add is lightning network. It is not necessary but I will like to see that. Desktop versions like Linux, Windows and macOS will be good, but this will require more work from the developers. It can even be used on airgapped devices which will make desktop to be very good, but this may not be easy for the developers to begin with with those operating systems.

The desktop version I really want to look forward to after they add coin control and option to add public on-chain notes to the release version 0.38.0.

Unstoppable in my opinion, a multi-coin wallet is pretty good for me to use. Bitcoin's address is not only one type, but they have several types of formats such as BIP 84 recommended by them, Legacy (BIP 44), Taproot (BIP 86) and Segwit (BIP 49).
If they add a lightning network, it will be even better because it can be an option for users who want more efficient and cheaper transactions even though the use of lightning networks is not much familiar to some users.
